Chapter 60: The Eternal Garden. Part-1.
Zephyr slowly opened his eyes as a refreshing scent of flowers entered his nose.
As he sat up from the ground, Zephyr realized that he was lying down on a bed of lush grass and flowers, and everywhere he looked, there was only greenery and endless flowers around him.
"What is this place?"
As if waiting for that question, the magical sparrow appeared on his shoulder out of nowhere and spoke in a calm voice.
"Congratulations Challenger! You managed to complete the final trial by not letting the illusions break your spirit through your shattered dreams!!"
"As a result of clearing the final trial, you became qualified to observe the stored memory fragment of the great ’Hero’ Layla Jauregia!
"Congratulations Challenger! You have become the first person who has managed to reach the ’Eternal Garden’ created by ’Hero’ Layla Jauregia for the sake of preserving the final hope of reviving the dying continent!"
Zephyr was quite surprised by the stupid bird’s sudden appearance on his shoulder, but the view around was simply too charming to look at, so he couldn’t get angry at the moment at the sparrow for using him like a stand.
Under a clear blue sky an endless garden filled with flowers and fruit trees extended until the horizon! 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Apples, oranges, mangoes, etc. Zephyr could see all sorts of fruits in the garden at just a single glance.
There were even many herbal plants in the garden, and small animals like rabbits, cats, birds, etc. were in abundance everywhere!
A lake filled with crystal-clear water existed not too far away with various kinds of fish swimming inside of it.
Zephyr could feel the dense mana in the water, which reflected how pure the lake’s water was.
It was not only drinkable but was actually very beneficial for improving his mana quality and quantity in the body at the same time!
Drinking it would be like drinking a muscle improvement tonic!
Zephyr walked over to the lake with an excited look on his face.
A massive tree, nearly the same size as the giants he had seen before, stood near the lake, providing much-needed shelter from the warm sunlight!
The massive tree’s leaves shone brilliantly with greenish mana in the cool wind breeze and swayed gently, producing a calming noise of the rustling tree leaves.
Every so often a few leaves of the tree would break due to the wind and fall into the lake.
Zephyr was quite surprised when he noticed that the leaves of the giant tree were filled with dense miasma and would dissolve in the lake water pretty fast, turning into pure mana.
The resulting reaction would also purify the lake’s water even more while further increasing the mana density of the lake!
’This place is the best training ground for low-rank awakeners to practice and improve their realm!’
’How awesome, I just needed something like this to improve my mana capacity; taking the trial was a good choice after all!’
As they say, the more difficult the trial, the more rewards you would get at the end of it, this paradise-like place was definitely an amazing reward for Zephyr.
The place was filled with food, water, and training material like rare herbs and mana tonics!
Zephyr felt that he could stay here forever and spend his time in peace and leisure without needing to worry about the dangers roaming in the outside world!
’Hmm, what’s that?’
Noticing something shining from the distance, Zephyr walked over to the giant tree and found a small chest placed quietly between gigantic tree roots visible on the surface of the ground.
"A treasure chest?"
The stupid bird that had been silent for a while now suddenly flew down from Zephyr’s shoulder and landed on the tree root protruding out of the ground nearby and spoke.
"To the Challenger, Layla dedicates this reward!"
"To the Challenger, Layla dedicates this reward! Drink the Elixir made of Dragon Tears! Gain elemental affinities!"
The stupid bird tilted its head and started repeating the same sentence over and over.
"I can gain affinities by drinking an elixir? That’s good news..."
Although Zephyr didn’t fully trust the magical sparrow and the person who created this trial, his powerful instincts were not reacting, which meant that there was a low possibility of anything harmful being inside the chest.
Thus, without further delay, Zephyr opened the treasure chest by following the methods that all muscle-brain barbarians use when encountering a locked door or chest; he broke through the lock with sheer physical force!
*Crack!*
The lock broke apart, and the chest was opened rather easily.
’All hail the barbarian god! Oh wait... am i praising myself right now?’
Inside the treasure chest lay three items: one was a flask filled with a shiny dark blue liquid, the second was a book that had the words, Cloud Step Movement Art, and the third item was a small, ordinary-looking ring.
The bluish liquid in the flask was likely the so-called ’Elixir’ made from dragon tears that could grant certain affinities to the drinker, and the movement art was likely a powerful combat skill that could prove to be useful in combat.
But the thing that attracted Zephyr’s attention the most was that small, ordinary-looking ring.
"Don’t tell me this is what I am thinking it is!"
With an excited look on his face, Zephyr took the ring out of the treasure chest and used his space elemental affinity to inspect the ring!
’Sure enough! This is a storage space ring!’
Using mana, Zephyr could activate the ring easily and use it to store all of his items in one place more securely.
The space ring was a magical artifact that Zephyr needed most at the moment, since he had no bags or proper storage equipment to store large amounts of water and food!
’I was thinking that I would need to pull it from the lottery and waste a lot of BP to acquire it, but it seems now that’s not necessary!’
