Chapter 22: Difference Between a Pavilion and a Guild-2

"Is Pavilion Master Darius saying that he will be selling elixirs, gear, and more services in the future?"

At this moment, even Moon felt tempted to become a member if the answer turned out to be yes.

While he felt it was most likely true, reality still made him deny such a possibility. He knew very well that if an organization like this Pavilion truly offered such services in exchange for spirit stones, gold, or achievements, then both the Sanctuary and Earth would erupt into chaos.

As Moon thought about the consequences of such information spreading, his neck turned cold and his blood nearly froze. He was even afraid that hearing such secrets might cost him his life.

Darius smiled faintly hearing the question. Suddenly, he felt that he would not actually need to repeat this explanation as often as he initially thought. With Shen and Moon present, the information would spread sooner or later anyway.

If Darius knew that Moon feared for his life simply for hearing about the Pavilion, he would probably vomit blood from frustration since rumors clearly would not spread as smoothly as he expected.

Smiling lightly, Darius briefly explained without elaborating too much since even he himself had no idea what kind of services the system would unlock in the future apart from the basics.

"Mhm." He nodded calmly. "Everything you mentioned will be available, and much more."

Hearing the confirmation, Moon nearly lost consciousness. Before he could fall from his chair, however, he forcefully regained his composure and calmed himself down.

At this point, he no longer sensed any killing intent from Darius, and his earlier assumptions had completely changed.

Phew!

Moon let out a deep breath before inwardly sighing in relief.

’Anyone else would have silenced us already. This person... his confidence seems even greater than his strength.’

As a matter of fact, Moon felt that Darius should have joined the Demon Suppression Office long ago. Someone who harbored no killing intent toward humans and stood firmly against demons was greatly valued by the organization.

As Moon fell into deep thought, Shen could not help but ask another question. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

"Will those products come in different grades? And will access remain the same? Without merits and such?"

Clasping his hands together, Darius replied, "This conversation has already gone on for quite a while. I’ll answer this question and one more, then we’ll stop here. I still have a few things to handle, and I’m sure the two of you do as well."

Shen nodded after hearing his words.

"Yes, everything is as you said, though one thing is missing."

At that moment, Darius secretly questioned the system while pretending to contemplate the future of the Pavilion.

’System, will some products only be obtainable through merits in the future?’

Darius wanted to finish this matter as quickly as possible so he could focus on the mission and obtain his rewards, therefore he impatiently waited for the reply.

Thankfully, the system responded almost instantly.

"Host is correct. Certain services will indeed only be exchangeable through merits. However, Pavilion members need not worry. Such restrictions will only apply to special services that require stricter rules."

Hearing this, Darius relayed the information while changing a few words here and there.

"Rest assured, the Immortal Pavilion will never become a guild, nor will its services become completely merit-dependent."

He then casually asked, "Last question. Does anyone still have one?"

Moon thought about it for a moment before ultimately deciding to remain silent. He felt that asking too many questions might truly provoke Darius, especially after the warning earlier.

He understood very well that Darius did not release that pressure with ill intentions, but rather to show the Demon Suppression Office that he was not someone who could be pushed around casually.

On the other hand, Shen immediately spoke up.

"Actually, yes. I was wondering about the token my sister received from you. She said it was some sort of emblem for the guild or something along those lines."

Darius recalled the information regarding the Pavilion emblem before calmly explaining.

"Oh, that. Think of it as your identity token. Something that says: ’I belong to the Immortal Pavilion.’ Every time you complete a mission, you earn not only money, but also merits as we discussed earlier. Those merits will increase your Pavilion rank, which comes with different benefits and privileges."

"As for the ranks themselves, they begin from Iron Rank, then Copper Rank, Bronze Rank, and so on."

Shen’s eyes widened slightly.

"So that’s how it works!"

"Merits, by the way, do not only measure how trustworthy you are," Darius explained further. "They also record how frequently you complete missions and even keep track of your battle achievements."

"It can also function as a communication tool between Pavilion members and has many other uses."

"There are simply too many functions to explain in one sitting."

"Alright," Shen muttered, finally gaining a general understanding of the Pavilion.

Imagining his sister’s reaction once he explained all of this to her, he could not help but feel excited.

"Oh, and one more thing."

Darius grinned slightly at this point, deciding it was the perfect opportunity to appear mysterious once again.

"If your emblem is ever lost or stolen, it will automatically teleport back to the Pavilion. So there’s no need to worry about that."

Shen nodded repeatedly after hearing this, feeling a huge burden lift from his heart. At that moment, he already regarded the emblem as something extremely important. Losing it might even get him barred from the Pavilion altogether.

After explaining the most important aspects of the Pavilion, Darius turned around and prepared to finalize the mission process for Shen.

However, just as he was about to proceed, the sound of someone clicking their tongue echoed from the entrance, causing him to stop.

"Tsk, tsk..."

Luke shook his head as he slowly entered the pavilion.

"Brother Shen, do you like cultivation so much that you came to such a remote place just for a cultivation room?"

Luke laughed lightly before casually continuing.

"Fine then, I’ll join as well."

His eyes landed on Darius.

"Shop owner, rent me your cultivation room for a week. If that’s not enough, I’ll rent it for even longer."

Then, with a faint smile, he added:

"After all, your sister seems quite interested in joining too, Shen."
