Chapter 2458: Fighting Zaaran
"Bastard, how did you acquire so much Eternal Essence as a mere mortal?!" Zaaran questioned Yuan after hastily avoiding his attack.
Although the attack wasn’t powerful enough to destroy his avatar, it would have undoubtedly damaged it had he attempted to block it.
"Does it really matter how I acquired it?" Yuan calmly responded.
"A trillion years worth of Eternal Essence isn’t a massive amount, but it’s not insignificant, either! There’s no way a human can acquire so much without the help of another Eternal! Who is the one helping a bastard like you?!" Zaaran shouted.
"Your mom," Yuan replied with a serious look on his face.
"My... what?"
Yuan’s unexpected answer left Zaaran stunned speechless.
Since Eternals were born from the void, the very concept of "parents" didn’t apply to them, so Yuan’s remark would have gone over the heads of most of their kind.
However, Zaaran—familiar with humans and their customs—recognized the insult almost immediately. His body trembled with fury, and his aura erupted like a volcano.
"You little bastard! How dare you insult me as if I am a mortal!"
An immense amount of Eternal Essence that surpassed Yuan’s trillion year’s worth gushed from Zaaran’s avatar.
"About a trillion and a hundred billion years, huh?" Deemo muttered to himself.
Once an Eternal’s accumulation of Eternal Essence surpassed a certain threshold—typically around a trillion years—differences of a few thousand, or even a few million years, became negligible.
Although Eternal Essence was immensely powerful, allowing Yuan to overwhelm higher-level opponents with even a small amount, it was only possible against mortals and beasts, and the same did not hold true when facing Eternals.
After unleashing his Eternal Essence, Zaaran made his move, releasing a devastating wave of energy that surged toward Yuan like a tidal wave... one that was massive enough to easily consume an entire world or two.
Yuan confronted Zaaran’s attack with an attack of similar fashion, releasing more Eternal Essence than before since he hadn’t gone all out yet.
"He was still hiding more Eternal Essence?!" Zaaran exclaimed in shock when Yuan’s attack completely cancelled out his own.
Of course, Zaaran wasn’t worried that he might lose since he was also holding back plenty of Eternal Essence, as he did not want to kill Yuan by accident.
Meanwhile, Deemo felt a shiver in his real body when he watched a human who wasn’t even a True God clash against an Eternal without losing.
’This is it! This is what a perfect being should be capable of!’ He trembled with excitement after seeing what he envisioned to be the perfect being existing befoe his very eyes.
To Deemo, a perfect being was someone that surpassed common sense—someone who could achieve the impossible.
Although the Transcendents he created were immensely powerful in their own right, none of them could wield Eternal Essence and fight Eternals like Yuan, who was still very far from being a True God.
"There’s still so much room for improvements!" Deemo suddenly shouted loudly.
’What would happen once he reaches True God? What about Absolute God? What if someone who could wield Eternal Essence without being an Eternal becomes one? Oh, the possibilities!’
Deemo, who had spent a lot of effort and time trying to create perfect beings, could barely restraint himself from experimenting on Yuan at this moment.
In fact, Deemo saw potential in Yuan—in Tian Chenyu long ago, hence why he didn’t kill Tian Chenyu or destroy his soul, as he was capable of doing both with ease.
However, it wasn’t just Deemo who was excited about Yuan. Even his opponent, Zaaran, could hardly contain his excitement.
In his eyes, Yuan was guaranteed to lose to him and become his subject, and the thought of having such an extraordinary slave sent chills throughout his entire being.
’Once I make him into my slave and have him participate in the upcoming event, I will no longer be a laughing stock! The only issue here is...’
Zaaran glanced at Deemo with the corner of his eyes.
’Will Deemo allow me to take him, or will he try to snatch that brat away from me?’
Zaaran was aware that he had no way of defeating Deemo, even if he was currently there with his real body, so if Deemo stole Yuan away from him, there was nothing he could really do but cry about it.
’Not only am I unable to defeat him, but we are currently in his territory, so he technically owns Tian Yang...’
Among Eternals, there existed a widely accepted rule that everything within one’s territory belonged to its owner. The only exception was the Nine Heavens, a space that could not be claimed.
Although anyone could declare ownership over it, with the Absolute Power residing there, such claims held no weight and would only be laughed at. In practice, it was a lawless domain—a free-for-all until someone seized the Absolute Power.
As he clashed with Yuan, Zaaran pondered excuses and justifications he could use to stop Deemo from taking Yuan away, should it come to that.
"You’re slowing down, Zaaran! Something on your mind?!" Yuan suddenly shouted, halting Zaaran’s thoughts.
"Yes! I am thinking about how boring this is!" Zaaran laughed in a mocking fashion before continuing, "We both know that you won’t be able to defeat me, so why don’t you stop wasting my time and submit to me already? I will make your life a little less miserable if you willingly submit!"
"Are you still dreaming right now?" Yuan sneered coldly. "Why don’t I wake you up a little then?!"
Yuan suddenly pointed at Zaaran and unleashed another wave of Eternal Essence, but this time, it was different.
The energy carried a bone-chilling cold, so absolute that everything in its path froze solid—even the very fabric of space itself seemed to halt and crystallize under its touch.
"This power is?!" Zaaran’s eyes widened with shock and disbelief as Shiva’s Eternal Frost created an icy path toward his direction.
Had he been paying attention, he might have avoided it,
but not only was he distracted, Yuan’s sudden use of a technique belonging to another Eternal caught him completely off guard.
In the end, Zaaran was unable to avoid all of the attack and was struck in the arm.
"Arg!" Zaaran released a painful cry.
"Oh?" Yuan raised an eyebrow after seeing Zaaran’s reaction.
He knew that Zaaran’s curse that had affected Kulas was weak to Yin elements, but he didn’t know the being himself was also weak to it.
"You! That power!" Zaaran roared, his voice trembling in anger and disgust.
"That is Shiva’s power! Why the hell can you wield her power?!?!"
"Why do you care? Don’t tell me she’s your lover or something?" Yuan mocked.
"Bastard!!!" Zaaran’s aura exploded as he unleashed his full strength, his Eternal Essence almost two trillion years, nearly double that of Yuan’s Eternal Essence.
’Shit!’ Zaaran immediately regretted attacking with his full strength out of anger because he didn’t believe Yuan would be able to survive it.
When Deemo saw this, he instinctively moved in to protect Yuan. After all, it would be far too wasteful to let him die there.
However, Deemo halted himself almost instantly after he started moving when he noticed the calm look on Yuan’s face.
