Chapter 180: Apostle’s Power! A Quick Trip to the Central Plains

[Ding! You’ve obtained a Skill: Apostle’s Soul Control.]

[Apostle’s Soul Control (Mythical, 3-Star): Form an all-directional ring of soul wave that ignores barriers and defenses to directly corrupt the opponent’s soul with "Soul Card" to take their mind for your own. If they are unaware of what your skill does, it works. At the point of knowledge of this skill, it can be stopped by barriers.]

[Mythical Effect: When a mind corrupted target dies, an Apostle light erupts from the places and deals AOE damage equal to 10% of your combat score and inflicts the target with "Soul Card".]

As soon as that information appeared, he returned back to reality.

"So this is what she used to take control over me and also that explosion from Caleb and others that were trying to come over to our kingdom." Caelus’s thoughts were calculative.

As it was right now, there were not even remains of Faust left.

But it was clear that she wasn’t dead.

"My ender passive didn’t activate."

Whenever he killed someone and as long as he willed it, his ender passive would activate at any given moment.

But it didn’t activate here. That would either mean Faust had the means to stop his ender passive or she took her own life, not wanting to fall under him.

He believed it must be the latter since stopping an Ender passive was something not even gods could do.

But wouldn’t that mean, Faust knew that he had something that can permanently kill someone? Did she know about this through her mind controlled puppets he killed before entering the kingdom or through other means?

"This person is very dangerous." Caelus wore a thoughtful look on his face.

She was crafty and even used underhanded tricks for victory.

He had seen the state of her kingdom. Not a single soul was left. Even the NPCs weren’t exempt from her "Black Nova Corrosion" that inflicted Torturous Corrosion.

She absorbed all their souls to perform this attack.

It still remained to see whether the death was permanent or temporary. If it was permanent, then this person was a very formidable being.

He was also curious about her other abilities and talent.

But by now, it was clear that her status window didn’t lie that much. She was indeed an apostle.

As for whose and what, he didn’t know.

He didn’t sense an ounce of holy power from her.

But one thing was sure. He is bound to meet Faust again. Whether as an alley or foe remained to be seen.

All these thoughts happened in less than a second with his split consciousness as a new notification arrived.

[Ding! You’ve successfully won the gamble and obtained half the combat score of your opponent.]

[Combat Score: 92.70 -> 134.70 (Gold III)]

"Are you okay?" Sylvia immediately asked in concern and worry. "I was rushing towards your place when I saw your HP depleting through my Blood-Bond Share Skill. But due to the immense distance. Transferring was not possible."

"I’m fine," Caelus replied with a smile as he recounted about Faust.

"That woman was a crafty one. She used her trump card in the end. If I hadn’t used Chaos Dragon Body then it would’ve ended in a disaster."

Sylvia immediately begin crashing out hearing this, calling Faust all sorts of bad terms she knew off.

Caelus sighed and begin appeasing his little angry vampire.

"It’s alright Sylvia. In the end, I emerged victorious." as he tightly embraced Sylvia. "On the other hand, if you were there, things would’ve been more smoother."

Indeed. Sylvia was strong. With her arrival, the tides of battle would’ve easily turned.

But his thought to protect Sylvia from any unexpected danger led to him telling her to stay put.

On that thought, he always felt that her ability to extract things was bizarre and yet very powerful.

But it was to be expected of an SS-Rank talent.

So far, he had never encountered someone with an SS-Rank talent aside from Sylvia.

Perhaps this Faust also had an SS-Rank Talent?

Maybe... even an SSS-Rank?

But at the same time, from what Sylvia had told him, there was only one known being with the SSS-Rank Talent and he had long since disappeared and supposedly, he had a connection to the ender of origin.

He always wondered what this connection was and how he, the current era’s ender of origin, managed to acquire the sole SSS-Rank Talent that had existed.

The way he received it was also out of the ordinary. He initially was supposed to get no talent, yet he saw a vision of a black hole devouring endless light and awakened this talent.

It was all a mystery.

But he was certain that he will find more answers to it once he reached crown-rank or the peak of crown-rank.

"Break the illusion," as they say.

There was also a new addition to it.

Starting now. He would need to research more into Apostles and Faust.

The displayed powers and combat score Faust displayed was not something he could ignore.

He turned to Sylvia. Right now, it was the afternoon.

Precisely 3 PM.

People were completely disoriented. This was the time they usually slept and now it had been completely turned around.

Just then, Sylvia’s phone rang.

It was her older brother.

She swiftly took her phone.

She slowly began talking to him and with each passing moment, her expression became serious.

Soon, she cut the call and turned to Caelus.

"Caelus. There is a situation."

"Hm?" Caelus raised an eyebrow. "What is that?"

"My father. He is coming to visit," Sylvia said with her voice dropping.

Caelus’s expression stiffened when he heard this.

Her father. That guy was a crown-rank.

"Then, shouldn’t you be at the Central Plains right now?"

Sylvia nodded subtly.

"My brother has already arranged a plane for me. He told me to get there as soon as possible. It’s only for a day."

"I understand." Caelus didn’t mind. "We are not ready to deal with that man yet."

Sylvia nodded.

She immediately went to change clothing and so did Caelus.

After that, Caelus and Sylvia departed to the airport. Leonard’s private jet had already arrived.

The people guarding the jet were surprisingly two vampires. They stared at Caelus strangely, then at Sylvia, as if trying to figure out if the human was meant to be an in-flight snack.

"We greet the Princess." They quickly dropped the weird looks and bowed to Sylvia.

Sylvia just nodded indifferently. She turned around and swiftly kissed Caelus.

The two guards froze, their eyes nearly popping out of their pale faces. Did the Princess just kiss her food?!

"I’ll be back soon."

Caelus nodded. "It’s just a visit. Don’t worry too much."

Sylvia nodded with a happy smile as she boarded the jet. The other vampires stood frozen, staring at Caelus with a wild mix of horror, confusion, and profound respect. In the end, it was time for departure, and absolutely no one had the guts to ask Sylvia what her relationship with this human was.

Caelus stood there for a long time before returning to his mansion.
