Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress
Chapter 505: Guess & Further Advancement
Liora felt inexplicably heavy.
This was not the weight of her physical form, but the weight of dozens of illusory spaces being opened within her very body.
After she fused the final talent with its corresponding Domain, her consciousness instantly examined her state.
The results were as expected.
Dozens of miniature worlds now existed throughout her flesh, as if her body had transformed into a galaxy.
"There was already a World of Heart within my soul space. Now, even my physical body appears to be composed of worlds rather than cells."
"Is this my future path? Am I going to transform into the Origin Sea in the future?", she thought, and some ideas emerged in her mind.
However, she quickly shook her head.
She had already had that same thought when she first awakened her World of Heart, wondering whether the Origin Sea was the World of Heart, or some other power possessed by some unknown being.
But after a bit of pondering, she understood this was impossible.
The Origin Sea contained an infinite number of worlds and even an apex world like the Demon World.
If all of those worlds truly existed within someone’s body or mind, then that being would far surpass the rumored Devil Emperor stage.
They would have transcended everything long ago.
After she organized her thoughts, Liora shifted her attention back to her current situation.
She examined her state even further and broke into a smile.
"The benefits of this process are substantial. Each Domain fusing with a talent granted me the extra strength of a Rank 4 Awakener."
"Although I’m only at Rank 4 currently, the strength of dozens of Awakeners has overlapped with mine."
Though the power of each of these "Awakeners" depended on the Rank of the talent, such a state had caused Liora’s fundamental power to soar.
According to a brief assessment, she estimated that her body was several times stronger than that of a Rank 6 Awakener.
This was a shocking realization.
Rank 4 corresponded to the Indestructible Body substage within the Greater Devil stage, while Rank 6 corresponded to the True Spirit stage.
To be able to possess the fundamental strength of a Rank 6 Awakener while at Rank 4 was heaven-defying.
Even, Liora strongly doubted whether anyone had done so before.
"Combined with my many means and my talents, I should be invincible below Rank 7. Even if I were to encounter an Archdevil being, there is a high chance I’d be able to escape without needing to unleash my World of Heart."
And that was before she advanced to Rank 5. If she took a step further, Liora could be certain that she would undergo another transformation.
Unfortunately, not everything had gone as well as she was hoping.
Thinking of this, Liora focused on the talent gene at the very center of the cluster of talents.
Unlike the other ones around it, this one was far more brilliant.
Yet, its radiance was contained within a small space around it. It was as if its potential had yet to be unleashed, and it was still waiting for a catalyst to truly exert itself.
This was the Unknown-Rank Predation talent, the talent that Liora had actually awakened.
If she could integrate it with its corresponding Domain, it would undergo the same dramatic transformation as her other talents.
Unfortunately, this was not possible at the moment.
"I previously believed that Predation was directly related to Devouring or at least Plundering... Now, it seems I was wrong.", Liora whispered, as several Domains descended and attempted to fuse with the black light.
The result, however, was similar to when she tried before. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
The moment they got close to each other, the parties rioted and struggled to break free.
Though Liora suppressed them with her will, the Domains and the talent gene were still unable to truly fuse.
This was not an issue of the strength of her consciousness.
Rather, it was that the Domains and the talent gene were not compatible. She had a hunch that something bad was going to happen if she really forcefully fused them.
Clearly, Liora had failed to comprehend the true corresponding Domain to Predation.
"There would have been no issue if it were just an ordinary talent. Using my connection with it, I would have been able to peer into the essence of the outside world and trace its Domain. Unfortunately, Predation is somewhat different...", she whispered.
With a thought, the black light at the center of her body lit up, causing her perception to rise to a higher dimension.
In such a state, countless insights regarding the concept represented by her talent would have emerged in her mind usually.
But when it came to Predation, there was nothing.
It was as if the talent had malfunctioned.
Or more precisely...
"There appears to be no concept of Predation in this world.", Liora concluded.
"If I wish to awaken the true Predation Domain, I can only ’construct’ it on my own. I can’t rely on external help, whether it is techniques or the world itself."
This realization made her disappointed.
Thankfully, she was not an ordinary person and quickly recovered.
A small setback was far from enough to dampen her mood.
Deactivating Predation, she watched as her vision returned to normal before turning her attention inward.
She knew she had reached a limit.
Not only did she have no more talents to upgrade, but her physical form was also holding her back.
If she got any more powerful, there was a high chance she would explode!
Her life level was no longer sufficient to contain the power she possessed.
"Since that’s the case, there is no reason to hesitate.", she thought.
"The right place and the right time are already here."
"Let’s advance to Rank 5."
The moment that thought fell, her consciousness connected with the various talents, and the illusory space within them shook.
Soon, they all began to evolve.
The worlds hidden within the talent genes trembled violently. Vast amounts of Cosmic Energy surged toward them, pushing her existence to Rank 5.
--
No one knew what Liora was currently experiencing within the Star Chamber.
Even those who did know of her current location had been misled by her, believing she intended to use the environment to rapidly advance her Rank.
Among them, the one who paid the most attention to her was none other than the War God.
Thus, the moment Liora made any movement, he was also the first to hear it.
"Huh? Has Liora come out of seclusion? To enter the Blood Arena nonetheless?"
He checked the time and discovered that only a couple of days had passed since Liora entered the Star Chamber.
In the War God’s opinion, she shouldn’t have left it until the ten-day limit passed.
But suddenly, a realization struck him. He guessed Liora’s true purpose.
With a thought, his consciousness leapt into the Information World, and then with another, a screen appeared before him.
It displayed what was happening within the Blood Arena. Or more specifically, in its Rank 2 section.
