Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2363: Putting the Baby Above Herself
"Hmm, are you taking good care of yourself? How’s your health?"
"I’m doing well, everything’s good, you don’t need to worry about me. Right now... let me guess, are you busy with work stuff? It’s late, remember to take a hot shower and go to sleep after you’re done."
"You too, get some early rest."
"Alright, I’ll wait for you to come back. Call me before you come home."
"Got it."
After hanging up the phone, Jasmine Yale rubbed her back, which felt uncomfortable and sore today. No matter how hard she tried, the bed wouldn’t get warm, leaving her a bit restless.
Even though she knew it was a normal reaction during pregnancy, she still longed for someone to be with her.
The wind picked up during the night, howling fiercely, and raindrops pattered down noisily against the glass window.
It’s raining.
Jasmine Yale found a relatively comfortable position to sit in, read for a while, and told a story to the baby.
In a drowsy state, she fell asleep holding a book, only to be woken up by the little one kicking during the night.
She turned off the light, adjusted the blanket, and turned over to continue sleeping.
When the little one acted up, she habitually tightened her grip on the blanket, which helped relieve some of the discomfort.
But tonight, the baby was especially restless. Around three or four in the morning, Jasmine Yale was wide awake, her stomach subtly aching.
Feeling cold under the covers, she had to sit up and turn on the bedside lamp.
The soft orange glow from the lamp made the bedroom look much cozier. She sat groggily on the edge of the bed, leaning against a pillow, not looking well.
It was still raining outside. Winter rain gets colder as it falls, and tomorrow will bring another cold wave.
Perhaps due to the weather, the baby in her belly was quite unsettled.
Even when she sat up, he still acted up.
Jasmine Yale was wide awake, but her heart was still sweet.
This baby can be born safely, not like the previous one.
After becoming a mother, her simple wish was for her child to be well, placing the child’s wellbeing above her own.
Jasmine simply stayed sitting up; it was much more comfortable this way.
The rain splashed outside the curtain, and the cold winter came just like that. On such a quiet night, she could hear her gentle breathing.
She glanced at the time; it was just about seven or eight o’clock in Lonton.
To distract herself a bit, she called Chale Cheney.
"Little Chale..."
"Jasy!" The little one on the other end sounded surprised.
"Do you miss Jasy? Have you had breakfast? Getting ready for school?"
"I’m eating. Today’s breakfast has tea eggs, pumpkin porridge, steamed dumplings, buns, fried eggs, and egg tarts..." The little one reported to Jasmine Yale, full of enthusiasm.
Jasmine didn’t find him nagging and laughed at his words.
"Jasy, I can make tea eggs. I made these tea eggs with Auntie. If you come over, the baby will make some for you himself." The little one said contentedly, "I won’t make them for anyone else."
Jasmine laughed at how sweet he was: "Little Chale is so amazing. In the future, if the little baby wants to eat, will you make some for him?"
"Hmm... the little baby, okay."
"What about your dad?"
"No way!" This time, the little one didn’t hesitate.
Hearing the little one’s voice, Jasmine Yale really wanted to pat his little head: "Finish your breakfast and go to school. Study well."
"I know, I will study hard."
"Hmm, Little Chale is the most obedient."
"Give a kiss."
