Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2365: She’s About to Give Birth
In such a deep night, even the sound of heartbeats could be heard clearly.
The warm orange glow of the lamp shone on her face, casting a subtle halo over her pale cheeks.
Jasmine Yale couldn’t sleep; there was a faint pain in her stomach, though it had improved, it was still uncomfortable. Sometimes she would close her eyes and listen to the sound of rain outside; the rain was heavy, and it might be especially cold tomorrow.
There was heating in the bedroom, but the bed was not warm.
Jasmine Yale was not sleepy and didn’t know what she was thinking.
Her thoughts were like a drifting kite, flying back and forth with the wind, but unable to find a destination to land.
Just like that, Jasmine Yale sat for a long time, touching her stomach, yet was still unable to fall asleep. The baby didn’t show any signs of being born prematurely, it just tormented her particularly.
The gloomy rainy day, the sky was dark and cloudy, not a hint of sunlight could be seen.
Around five or six o’clock, the little fellow finally settled down and behaved. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Jasmine Yale lay down in a daze and slept for a while, the rain still continued to fall relentlessly.
Raindrops hit the glass window, making a "pitter-patter" sound.
She was awakened by a knock on the door.
"Miss Yale, are you awake? It’s ten o’clock." Butler Santana didn’t dare call too early, but Jasmine Yale got up quite late today.
Jasmine Yale’s arms felt sore, and after Butler Santana called for a while, she responded wearily, "Come in..."
However, her voice was too soft, initially Butler Santana did not hear it.
After a while, Butler Santana pushed the door open.
Seeing Jasmine Yale’s pale face, she was startled: "Miss Yale, are you not feeling well? You look very unwell."
"Really? Maybe I didn’t sleep soundly last night."
"Was the baby too restless? Does your stomach hurt? Do you want to go to the hospital for a check-up today?"
"It’s fine... it’s raining today, let’s not go."
"Are you sure you’re okay? Don’t hold it in, let me know if there’s any situation." Butler Santana was very worried.
The doctor had always warned that Jasmine Yale had a propensity for premature birth and needed to be extra careful compared to others, otherwise, problems could easily arise.
"I’m really fine, I overslept today. I’ll get up now." Jasmine Yale prepared to get out of bed, but she was still exhausted.
"Miss Yale, where is Mr. Cheney? Wasn’t he supposed to return these days?"
"He got held up with something, might take a few more days to return to Cakago."
"I’ll call him, Miss Yale, give me his mobile number." Butler Santana urged, "No matter how important the issue, is anything more important than you and the child? Since you got pregnant, the time he’s spent with you has been countable on one hand, is it possible that even now that you’re about to give birth, he remains unattentive?"
"Butler Santana, it’s fine, I’m not due yet, his work is important too."
Butler Santana momentarily did not know what to say.
Mr. Cheney and Miss Yale loved each other, yet they were both indebted to one another.
But in love, what debt is there really, no such account can be settled.
Yet at times like this, she still hoped Mr. Cheney could come back to take care of Jasmine Yale, after all, Jasmine Yale’s physique was too weak, even if not able to compensate physically, at least psychological comfort would be increased.
Jasmine Yale insisted on not letting Butler Santana call Sylvan Cheney, leaving Butler Santana at a loss, she could only make sure to take good care of Jasmine Yale.
Yet no matter how well she took care, she could not replace Mr. Cheney.
Jasmine Yale skipped breakfast and only ate a little during lunch, she felt sick of whatever she ate, only having a nibble of some vegetables and fruit.
After eating, she held a cup of hot water and sat on the balcony, staring blankly out the window.
Outside, the rain was misty and hazy, the entire city shrouded in a somber tone.
