Global Deities: Rising as Wood Elves' God
Chapter 142 - 141: Conquering the Neutral Elf City, Treasure Vault
On the walls of the Neutral Elf City, the Elf Elders were still frantic. After all, the enemy’s Forbidden Curse Spell was nearly complete, and even now, they hadn’t come up with a single solution.
"What are we going to do?"
"Are we supposed to just stand here and wait for death?" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"But even if we tried to escape, we’re surrounded on all four sides by the Elf Corps. Where could we possibly run?"
The hearts of these Elf Elders, standing atop the Neutral Elf City’s walls, were in utter turmoil, but they were utterly powerless. In fact, they now regretted their decision to even mount the city walls.
If we hadn’t come up to the walls, we wouldn’t have to see the enemy Elf Mage Corps’ Combined Spellcasting. We could remain ignorant of our inevitable doom, couldn’t we?
Such self-deceiving thoughts had started to surface, but no matter what they thought, it was useless.
Meanwhile, the mage formation of Flame Elves and Sun Elves, led by Elf Mage Captain Joy Pala, had already completed the weakened version of the Forbidden Curse Spell—Flame Prison Celestial Tribulation! The moment this Forbidden Curse Spell was completed, a dense aura of Fire Attribute Magic enveloped the entire city. All the Fire Attribute Magic Power in the area was drained, condensing into this Pseudo-Banned Spell.
The next moment, the entire sky turned into a sea of fiery clouds. In the middle of the fiery clouds, a rift seemed to tear open. Meteors seven or eight meters in diameter shot out from this rift, trailing long tails of fire as they hurtled toward the walls of the Neutral Elf City below. The Defense Army of the Neutral Elf City stood on the walls, watching this scene, completely stunned.
When meteors seven or eight meters in diameter hurtle toward you from the sky with a booming sound and long red tails of flame, most people would be scared stiff. These members of the Elf Guard Army were slightly braver. Even though their limbs were ice-cold with fear, they still forced their legs to move, desperately running toward the inner city. The Elf Elders, however, seemed to have despaired; they didn’t move an inch.
Three crimson meteors in a triangular formation crashed into three of the four walls of the Neutral Elf City. At the moment of impact, a massive roar erupted alongside a blinding light as bright as the sun. The sections of the wall directly hit by the meteors collapsed, the remnants melting away. What walls? They were instantly turned into ruins! The Elves who were slow to run were pulverized by the immense impact.
And this was even with Elf Mage Captain Joy Pala doing her utmost to control the spell, directing the meteors toward areas with fewer Elves. In truth, when this spell is cast to its full extent, several hundred meteors would fall from the sky. The same was true for the Flame Prison Celestial Tribulation, even as a Pseudo-Banned Spell. But in Zhang Yi’s Divine Realm, these Elf Mages couldn’t bring themselves to cast the spell at full power, fearing they would damage the Divine Realm. And after coming to this Small Magic Plane, they were afraid that casting the spell would attract the attention of other Elves. So, this was the first time they had formally used Combined Spellcasting to truly unleash this spell. Everything before had been a simulation.
Now, the moment this spell was cast, Elf Mage Captain Joy Pala sensed that something was wrong. Its power was far too great. But it was too late to call it back unless they were willing to suffer the magical backlash. Of course, Elf Mage Captain Joy Pala couldn’t possibly let herself and the five hundred Fire Element Elf Mages suffer that backlash. So, she could only reduce the Magic Power output after the spell was cast. And so, under her best efforts to control it, only thirty meteors ended up falling. The remaining meteors all crashed into the same spot.
Just these thirty meteors were enough for the surviving Elves of the Neutral Elf City to come to a profound realization of their "mistake." We must have been ’in the wrong’ to have provoked such a powerful enemy!
After casting the spell, Elf Mage Captain Joy Pala quickly transmitted this information into the minds of the nearby Natural Elves, telling them to reduce their Mana supply. Otherwise, the power of the Pseudo-Banned Spell was simply too immense. This was something that not even the Natural Elves had expected. After all, under the leadership of Elf High Priest Shamiel, they had always been trained to prepare for the most powerful enemies imaginable. They never would have thought the enemy would be so weak.
But there was nothing to be done about it. Their original intention was only to subdue and intimidate the Elves in this Neutral Elf City so that they could be recruited later. Now, it seemed they had used a bit too much force. However, Elf Mage Captain Joy Pala didn’t feel any guilt over it. As far as she was concerned, until the other side clearly surrendered, they were still the enemy.
The Natural Elves could only try their best to control the power of their Forbidden Curse Spell, Pseudo-Natural Fury. But even so, after the three massive meteors struck the walls and turned three sides into ruins, an Elf Tree-man stood up. It was five times taller than the one the Natural Elves had created with Combined Spellcasting during the last monthly exam. The Celestial Vault Tree-man, a full fifty-plus meters tall, could take in the entire landscape at a glance. The remaining wall of the Neutral Elf City only reached its legs. The Celestial Vault Tree-man merely shook its roots slightly, and the already collapsed sections of the wall were buried deep underground.
The remaining soldiers of the Defense Army, their Elf Elders having been smashed to death by the giant meteors, had no will to fight left. Following the memories left in their elven bloodline, they raised white flags one after another and knelt on the ground, indicating their surrender.
The Natural Elves could, of course, see this scene through the eyes of the Celestial Vault Tree-man. Since the other side had already surrendered, thrown down all their weapons, and knelt, they wouldn’t needlessly slaughter the innocent.
When Elf Corps Commander Feiyana learned of this, she quickly commanded the remaining Elf Corps to enter the city. But to say they "entered the city"... three of the walls were completely gone. Only the last one, the northern wall, remained standing. What was left that even resembled a city?
The Elf Corps of the Elf Alliance, having been trained by Elf Corps Commander Feiyana for the past two years, were already well-disciplined. Even upon entering the city, there was no burning, killing, or looting. Without needing many arrangements from Elf Corps Commander Feiyana, the captains of each elven squad had already led their teams to guard the various important locations within the Neutral Elf City. Some of the remaining squads maintained order, while others searched for remnants of the defending army who had not surrendered and still wished to resist.
There were five Elf Corps in total. Two stood guard outside, while three entered the city. Any rebellion, no matter how large, would be crushed.
Elf Corps Commander Feiyana had long since committed the map of the Neutral Elf City, provided by the Head of the Intelligence Bureau, Stuck, to memory. With her guards and half an Elf Corps in tow, Elf Corps Commander Feiyana arrived at the most important place in the Neutral Elf City—the treasury! All the treasures of the entire Neutral Elf City were hidden in the treasury.
