Global Game: Developing a Knight Clan
Chapter 400 - 52: Forest Race, Elemental Crystal Core (Part 2)
"How about we eat and talk?"
As he spoke, the Elf Elder had a thought.
Instantly, high-backed chairs rose up behind them. At the same time, a rustic, root-like table materialized between them.
"This is Life Dew, produced only by ancient trees of our Forest Race that are over ten thousand years old. I invite you to have a taste, sir."
Inside a large wooden goblet, a clear green liquid swirled.
Sean didn’t even have to drink it; just a single glance told him the value of this item.
It contained a large amount of the Power of Life Elements—or one could say, a liquefied state of Life Element Particles.
A single cup wouldn’t have a significant effect on the Tier Nine Sean, but it would be an extremely valuable healing remedy for injuries.
It was even a rare treasure for Transcendents below the High Tiers, and could be used to increase their chances of successfully breaking through to a High Tier.
However, Sean had no intention of drinking it at the moment.
’After all, who knows if they’ve added something to it.’
"So, are you ready to talk now, sir? What exactly is it you wish to discuss with me?"
Sean didn’t drink, and the Elf Elder didn’t insist.
Hearing Sean get straight to the point, the Elf Elder revealed a mouthful of saw-like teeth and smiled.
"Our guest seems to be in more of a hurry than I am."
"However, before we discuss that, I would actually like to learn more about your race, sir."
"For instance, what is this ’Major’ and ’Empire’ you speak of? And what is the standing of your Ability within your race?"
"Only by knowing all this can I judge whether your race has the Power to make a deal with mine."
"A deal?" Sean frowned.
"Yes, a deal. And I assure you, as long as your race can meet the basic requirements of the transaction, the compensation our race can offer will absolutely satisfy you."
As he spoke, the Elf Elder reached into the void and pulled something out.
Instantly, a strange, green crystal core shot directly toward Sean.
Not suspecting a trick, Sean reached out and caught the crystal core.
He didn’t even have to ponder its function. As a Player, Sean instantly obtained the crystal core’s information through his system panel.
[Item: Elemental Life Core]
[Equivalent Tier: High Tier (Wood Attribute, Superior Quality)]
[Function: Using this Elemental Core to condense an Elemental Body can increase the chance for a Wood Attribute Bloodline Transcendent to break through to Saint Tier by fifty percent. For Transcendents of other Attribute Bloodlines, it increases the chance by twenty percent.]
Sean’s expression tightened abruptly.
It was actually the crystal core of an Elemental Life!
’Unbelievable!’
Although Players didn’t need the crystal core of an Elemental Life to break through to Saint Tier, there was no doubt that both the Bloodline Transcendents of the Star Empire and the Giant Demon Transcendents of the Giant Demon Empire needed an Elemental Crystal Core to do so.
Elemental Life had long been extinct on the Oakland Continent, which had essentially cut off the opportunity for individuals to achieve Saint Tier through their own Mighty Power.
That was why there had been so many Pseudo-Saints and Pseudo-Demigods on the Oakland Continent before.
And what about the Karte Continent?
It had previously been occupied by the Giant Demon Empire, and all the Elemental Life had long since been plundered.
In the end, it was the Star Empire that established a pact with them and brought back five types of Elemental Creatures to be raised in captivity.
But even so, for both the Star Empire and the Giant Demon Empire, cultivating Elemental Creatures was no easy task.
Middle-Low Tier Elemental Creatures were of limited value; their sheer numbers were needed to meet the requirements for a High Tier to break through to Saint Tier.
As for High Tier Elemental Creatures, even when fed with large quantities of High Tier Magic Crystals, it was impossible to successfully raise a single one in less than a hundred years.
Therefore, in both the Star Empire and the Giant Demon Empire, Elemental Creatures were unquestionably strategic-level resources.
The value of every single High Tier Elemental Crystal Core was absurdly high.
For one thing, of the nearly 3,200 Saint Tier powers in the current Star Empire, at least ninety-five percent were Players.
Moreover, even if High Tier Players didn’t need an Elemental Crystal Core to break through to Saint Tier, the number of war-instance points they needed to accumulate for the exchange was still substantial.
So, for Sean right now, if he used this Elemental Crystal Core, he was certain he could absolutely break through to Saint Tier in a short amount of time.
Those who weren’t from the Pure-blooded Dragon Clan couldn’t break through to Saint Tier without an Elemental Crystal Core either.
Thus, the value of this crystal core was imaginable.
Looking at the Elf Elder again, Sean’s expression had now changed.
It went from initial indifference to focus and gravity!
"This is...?"
"It is merely a small gift, and also a bit of compensation for our guest."
The Elf Elder noticed the change in Sean and smiled with satisfaction.
"It seems our guest is satisfied with my gift."
"In that case, perhaps our guest would be willing to satisfy a bit of my curiosity now?"
Sean looked at the Elf Elder, who now wore a casual expression as if it were nothing of consequence.
His thoughts churned inexplicably.
’Are these so-called Forest Race members a type of Elemental Life themselves?’
But, based on his Spiritual perception, Sean had noticed it earlier. The Forest Elves who disappeared into the earth still had a large amount of impurities in their essence.
Elemental Life, on the other hand, was a singular Elemental Body, containing no impurities whatsoever, and it was even more impossible for them to have a physical body.
Take the Forest Race before him, for example.
This Elf Elder, however, had a solid, real body of flesh and blood.
Therefore, Sean had reason to believe that this Race had probably domesticated some kind of Elemental Creature.
