Chapter 2366: Chapter 2366: Small Space Inside the Building

Although the Girl in the painting’s fighting style is a bit strange, other players still believed she was equipped with some special defense prop, which is why she wasn’t afraid of the attacks from lower-level props. Additionally, their props’ short-term failure was clearly due to the ensuing Xu Huo.

A prop that can disable other props sounds quite intimidating, but it obviously can’t just target others without limiting its holder, so everyone’s props became useless. Naturally, it doesn’t seem like anyone suffered a huge loss...

Hmm, the only one who really suffered is already lying on the ground as a corpse now.

Ignoring the props on the corpse, Xu Huo quickly left with the Girl in the painting and managed to shake off two or three players who were following them.

Compared to killing these people directly, shaking them off is less costly and less likely to draw more attention.

The Girl in the painting wasn’t hurt; the blood on her face belonged to the dead player. "Why are those people all targeting me?"

"Because you look weaker." Xu Huo told her to put the mask back on.

The Girl in the painting glared at him, as if to say "clearly you’re the weaker one."

Xu Huo took out a disguise prop, making her look a bit more like a Rank-B player.

"Can you disguise me as a Super Player? I want that," the Girl in the painting requested.

"What a beautiful dream," Xu Huo said. "Can regular props really disguise someone as a Super Player?"

"Those Artifact Makers are really useless," the Girl in the painting remarked.

Xu Huo laughed softly without responding; if Artifact Makers were useless, how did so many Super Props come to be?

Disguising as a Super Player? It’s an interesting idea, but it could easily lead to death if exposed. Many would probably want to challenge a Super Player.

However, what Xu Huo didn’t expect was that, after him and the Girl in the painting simply changed their hiding spot, they actually encountered someone disguised as a Super Player, a slightly greasy-looking middle-aged man, who was being pursued by two female players.

People around, including Xu Huo, all believed this Super Player to be a fake, watching with interest as he got beaten.

As for why he was being beaten, it’s simple: he bragged about being a Super Player, using the title to hit on female players. Then, by a very coincidental chance, a female player removed the mask from his face.

This was quite awkward. Let alone a Super Player, even an ordinary player wouldn’t let someone remove their mask easily. Upon seeing his face, the two female players were even more enraged, threatening to give him a good punishment.

Thus, he was chased all the way here.

The two female players didn’t really intend to kill him, nor did they use lethal force. They simply enjoyed watching him run around the corridor, throwing in some verbal taunts as well.

Many players followed to watch the drama unfold. As Xu Huo passed by, the man suddenly grabbed his clothes, pulling him into the middle of the action and shouted, "This one looks good, go play with him instead!"

The two female players were nearly exploding with anger. A shockwave cleared Xu Huo out of the way, as they accelerated their chase, "This time, if we catch you, we’ll carve the word ’pervert’ on your face!"

The man, using a prop, ran quite fast. Hearing this, he turned back with a cheeky grin and said, "I’m a Super Evolver, any marks you carve will heal in less than two days, so what can you do to me!"

Indeed, there was nothing they could do as he had already dashed up the stairs.

As he was about to escape, suddenly a loud bang sounded from upstairs. The middle-aged man was kicked back into the corridor, another female player walked down slowly, drawing out her long sword, "I can’t stand people who harass others, you must die!"

Dodging the sword’s gleam, the middle-aged man stumbled and crawled backward, "Are you serious? Are we really doing this? If we’re serious, I’m done playing!"

He turned and ran, barging through two players blocking his way, only to be trapped by their props, propelling him to another female player’s feet.

That female player flipped her hand and slapped him aside, causing him to naturally make a turn in the corridor and grab onto Xu Huo again, who hadn’t gone far.

"This isn’t necessary," Xu Huo said rather helplessly.

The middle-aged man chuckled, not only grabbing him but also the Girl in the painting, pulling both of them into the nearby corner’s greenery. Unexpectedly, there was a Space Portal among the plants, and they were sucked in as they fell.

The female players chased to the spot, seeing the people disappear, said grudgingly, "Lucky for him!"

"There are plenty of traps in the Fish Banquet Building. Entering a Pocket Door isn’t necessarily a good thing; their fate might end up worse," the sword-bearing female player said indifferently, adding, "There are all sorts of people in this building."

"There are all sorts of people in this building," Xu Huo said to the middle-aged man who fell to the ground, as he assessed the dimly lit space they had been forcibly pulled into.

"Aren’t there!" The middle-aged man, as if unaware Xu Huo was talking about him, agreed, "Just joking with them a little and it turns into a murder threat; haven’t seen such unreasonable people. And that woman upstairs, I’ve never even seen her before!"

He looked so righteously indignant, as if others did something outrageous.

Xu Huo just stared at him, then asked after a few seconds, "Since you dragged me into this space, you should know how to get out, right?"

"Why go out? Isn’t it better to hide here?" The middle-aged man lay back on the ground, "On Carnival Day, killings are happening everywhere outside. There are fewer people here, surely it’s safer."

"Is it really safe?" Xu Huo raised an eyebrow. He sensed upon arrival that at least five others were hidden nearby, well-concealed. Players trading in information claimed that these small spaces hid Easter eggs, but the number was limited. With so many suddenly appearing Space Portals throughout the building, they couldn’t all hide Easter eggs, could they? Safety must be a chance game.

"Dangerous?!" The middle-aged man quickly sat up, hurried over to Xu Huo’s side, "Then we must leave together."

Xu Huo ignored him, nodded to the Girl in the painting, and proceeded down the dim corridor.

The corridor they were in was only about two meters wide, one side had sealed windows, the other was a wall. Normally, in such an interior wall, windows wouldn’t be expected to open, but actually, the right-side wall had a window every ten meters or so. But calling them windows isn’t quite right; they were square, only about the size of a human head.

No normal person could fit through, they could at most peek outside through the window openings.

"Can these windows be opened..." the middle-aged man ahead of them tentatively pulled a window on one side. Unexpectedly, while the previous one wouldn’t budge, this one opened easily, revealing a bloodied head right in front of them without warning!
