Gu Anjin had to tilt her head back to meet his gaze.

He was very tall, at least one meter ninety. Jumping down from such a height seemed effortless for him.

At this close range, she could finally see him clearly.

His eyes were fierce, but his face was slender, sharp, and delicately beautiful, typical of an Asian.

"Boss, killing Anthony’s men isn’t a good idea..." The man with the eye patch said, laughing as he spoke, looking at the two bodies on the ground without a trace of regret, "I’ve always hated working with that dead fat man from the start, but now that we’ve killed his men, he’ll be hopping mad. Especially now that he’s in mourning for his sister."

Gu Anjin squinted slightly at the unfamiliar man.

Who exactly were they?

At first, she thought they were Anthony’s people, then thought they were trying to please him, or maybe they were working with him.

But now it seemed, none of those were correct.

"Guess who I am?" Huo Xun slowly let go of her chin, "Miss Gu, don’t bother, you won’t guess it."

"Then why don’t you tell me?"

Huo Xun looked at her and smiled briefly, saying nothing.

When he turned to face the eye patch man, the smile on his face instantly disappeared, his dark eyes were intimidating, "Yue Siqing’s men are coming soon, aren’t they?"

"Pretty much, so we should leave."

He pondered for a moment, seemingly processing several emotions, forming a new idea.

"Miss Gu, perhaps there will be a chance to cooperate next time." He spoke again, a mysterious curve returning to his lips, as he tilted his head and said, "If you truly hate him so much, then we might meet again."

Gu Anjin’s eyes suddenly widened, was he letting her go?

She deliberately distanced herself from Yue Siqing, without expecting it would lead to her being spared.

What exactly was this person planning? It was unlikely he believed her words in such a short time.

"Don’t you want to go back?" Huo Xun lazily slipped his hands into his pockets, walking closer, "Too bad, the best timing has passed. Maybe you could try dying in front of him? Want me to help?"

Gu Anjin pressed her lips tightly together, not saying a word.

"Boss, Yue Siqing’s men are here." Someone quickly entered from the door and said.

"Hmm." His voice was light and calm, not at all in a hurry to be caught.

The gaze that lingered on Gu Anjin seemed to be scheming something.

That predatory look made her very uncomfortable.

"I initially intended to shoot you, as a warning." His voice was low, "But..."

After the change in tone, Gu Anjin felt a sharp pain in her neck and fainted.

Huo Xun withdrew his hand, staring for a moment at the person on the ground.

"Boss, soft-hearted with a damsel?" The eye patch man joked.

Huo Xun’s demeanor, however, was void of any amusement, his gaze deep and inscrutable as he replied nonchalantly, "If we’re going to let her go, don’t push her too hard."

"Why let her go back?"

"I’m conducting an experiment." He narrowed his phoenix eyes, beginning to retreat, while gesturing to his subordinates, "I bet Yue Siqing isn’t as she thinks, and I want to see how important she really is to him. Understanding this is far more beneficial than killing her and handing her over to Anthony."

The eye patch man and others retreated while commenting, "You always know exactly what you’re contemplating."

Before Huo Xun departed, he took one last glance at the woman on the ground, "Contemplating how to make him suffer more."
