Teasing Her Beast Husbands Until They Fall Hard
Chapter 184: The Honeymoon’s Hidden Concern
Su Yaoyao bent down and held him in her arms. "Okay," she said softly, "but we have to ask the doctor first. I’m worried traveling will make your wounds worse. What then?" Her gentle tone was filled with concern for Lucia, as if he were the most precious treasure in the world.
The moment Lucia heard this, his ears, which had been perked up high, instantly drooped in disappointment. His whole body went limp like a deflated ball, utterly listless. His dejected expression made one want to comfort him.
"But I *am* the doctor," Pani said with a laugh. His face was full of confidence, a smile that seemed to declare his absolute certainty in his medical skills.
With that, he began to examine Lucia, his movements skilled and professional. His eyes were focused as he carefully inspected each of Lucia’s wounds.
After a thorough examination, Pani straightened up. His expression turned serious as he said, "He’s recovering fairly well, but his injuries were indeed severe. It’s not out of the question to bring him along. In fact, staying by Yaoyao’s side might speed up his recovery. However, he can’t do any strenuous exercise and needs plenty of rest.
If Yaoyao wants to bring him, I don’t think there will be any major problems as long as I’m there."
Su Yaoyao’s eyes lit up, and she smacked her forehead. ’Right, how could I forget Pani is a doctor!’ Her chagrined expression made it look as though she’d just made an unforgivable mistake.
The moment Lucia heard that, he was instantly overjoyed again. His ears shot straight up, his excited expression showing that he had found a new sense of hope.
He looked at Pani gratefully. Of all Su Yaoyao’s Beast Husbands, Pani was the first one he’d taken a liking to.
He thought to himself, ’I’ll have to make sure to get along with him and build a good relationship. After all, I’m a man dead set on becoming one of Yaoyao’s Beast Husbands.’
At first, Lucia had been quite surprised when these three devastatingly handsome men, each with a completely different aura, revealed that they were Yaoyao’s Beast Husbands.
So Yaoyao already had three such outstanding Beast Husbands, and Mingye was the fourth, the one she had just registered her union with.
He silently wondered if he could fight for the fifth spot.
The other competitors were certainly handsome, but he felt he was more beautiful! And lately, he and Yaoyao had been inseparable, even sleeping together every night.
The more Lucia thought about it, the greater he felt his chances were. He puffed out his little chest, looking as smug as if victory were already in his grasp.
Su Yaoyao turned to look at Augustine, who had been standing silently to the side. Her eyes were full of anticipation. "Ting, are you going?" Her gaze held both an invitation and the fear that he might refuse.
Augustine’s brows were tightly furrowed, an undercurrent swirling in the depths of his wine-red eyes.
He knew in his heart that a bloody storm was about to descend upon the Imperial City. Sending Yaoyao away at this time was undoubtedly a good choice; he didn’t want her to see such grim and dark things.
He was torn, struggling with his reluctance to part with Yaoyao on one hand, and his desire to protect her on the other.
"I’m sorry, I can’t go." Augustine’s voice was low, tinged with a dejection he couldn’t quite hide. That deep voice sounded like a sigh from the depths of his heart, full of helplessness and reluctance.
When Lucia heard this, his eyes brightened. ’His Majesty isn’t going?’ he thought. ’Doesn’t that make my chances even better?’ All sorts of schemes began to spin in his little head, and he could almost see the beautiful future where he became one of Yaoyao’s Beast Husbands.
Su Yaoyao was a little disappointed by Augustine’s words, but it was also what she had expected. He was the Emperor, after all, and surely had countless matters to attend to.
She forced a smile. "I’ll be sure to bring you back a souvenir." Her smile was tinged with bitterness, but also with understanding for Augustine.
Just as everyone was wrapped up in the discussion about the honeymoon to the Sea Clan’s territory, Mingye’s expression suddenly shifted, his relaxed demeanor instantly becoming serious.
A hint of worry showed in his eyes as he said gravely, "But... it might be dangerous for Admiral Bai Lian to go." His serious tone was like a bucket of cold water dumped on the cheerful atmosphere.
Hearing this, the others all looked at Mingye, confused. Their eyes were full of questions, wondering why he would suddenly say such a thing.
Mingye paused before continuing his explanation. "Have you all forgotten? Bai Lian once bit off one of Noah’s arms." His voice was low and grave, each word landing with heavy weight.
"It grew back, but he’s still the Second Prince of the Sea Clan—and the most favored one at that. We don’t know if Noah told the Sea Emperor, but if the Emperor finds out the man who hurt his son is on his territory, I doubt he’ll let Bai Lian leave alive," Mingye continued, his expression growing graver as his eyes betrayed his concern for the situation.
Hearing this, everyone’s brows furrowed. Mingye had a point.
A grave expression also crossed Bai Lian’s face. He knew full well how serious this was.
"Then let’s not go." The moment Su Yaoyao thought of the terrible consequences, a deep fear surged within her. Her eyes filled with worry and fright, as if she could already see Bai Lian in danger and being harmed. She absolutely could not let the man she loved take such a risk.
Bai Lian gently took Su Yaoyao’s hand. His palm was broad and warm, seeming to transfer his strength to her.
"This honeymoon is incredibly meaningful to us. I don’t want to have any regrets because of a little difficulty."
His eyes showed a hint of concern, but also a steely resolve, as if he were already prepared to face anything.
However, based on Mingye’s understanding of Noah, he suspected Noah wouldn’t have told his family. After all, Noah was deeply in love with Yaoyao, and telling them might have implicated her. He silently prayed that his assessment was correct.
Just as the atmosphere grew heavy, Augustine suddenly spoke, his voice majestic and powerful, like a thunderclap tearing through the darkness. "This is my personal token. To see this token is to see me. If the Sea Emperor dares to harm any of you, there will be war between the Beast Clan and the Sea Clan."
As he spoke, he untied a dragon-carved token from his waist and handed it to Su Yaoyao. The token glinted with a mysterious light in the sun, a symbol of power and majesty.
Augustine’s eyes showed his firm resolve. He was keenly aware of his responsibility as Emperor; no matter what, he had to protect Su Yaoyao and her Beast Husbands.
His resolute gaze seemed to declare to everyone that he would be their staunchest backer. No matter what difficulties they faced, he would not shrink from the challenge.
Su Yaoyao solemnly accepted the token from Augustine. It felt heavy in her hand, as if it carried not just power, but also the weight of Augustine’s profound care and protection for them.
She looked up at Augustine, her eyes filled with emotion. "Ting, thank you. With this token, I feel much more at ease."
