The Alpha Kings And Their Stripper Mate
Chapter 375: I am Queen of the Seraphim Court
She paused, letting that sink in. Then continued: "But let’s address your actual concern, Corvus. You don’t want accountability. You don’t want oversight. You want to maintain the old power structure where clan leaders answered to no one and smaller vampire groups had no voice. That’s what this is really about."
"Your Majesty...."
"I’m not finished." The temperature in the room seemed to drop. "You agreed to the reform because you saw which way the political winds were blowing. You knew resistance would isolate you. So you voted in favor, then decided to undermine implementation through constant objection and delay. That stops now."
Corvus’s facade of civility cracked. "You cannot order...."
"Yes. I can." Eve’s eyes began to glow...not quite the full manifestation of her succubus power, but enough to remind everyone exactly what she was. "I am Queen of the Seraphim Court by blood and by conquest. The reform passed with legitimate unanimous support. And it will be implemented as written. If the Vampire Clans cannot comply with provisions that every other faction has accepted, then perhaps the Vampire Clans should reconsider their membership in the Conclave entirely."
Shocked silence.
"Are you threatening to exile an entire faction?" Corvus’s voice was strained.
"I’m reminding you that Conclave membership comes with responsibilities. If you’re unwilling to meet those responsibilities, you’re welcome to withdraw voluntarily. But you don’t get to remain in the Conclave while refusing to follow its rules."
Astrid spoke up then, her voice firm. "The Lycan territories support Her Majesty’s position. The reform provisions are fair and necessary. Any faction unwilling to comply should indeed reconsider their participation."
Other faction leaders began voicing agreement. One by one, they aligned with Eve’s position, leaving Corvus increasingly isolated.
"This is tyranny," Corvus said, but his voice had lost its confident edge.
"No. This is leadership. This is ensuring that the changes we all agreed to actually happen instead of being slowly dismantled by bad faith actors." Eve sat back down, her expression hard. "You have two choices, Corvus. Comply with the reform provisions like every other faction, or withdraw from the Conclave. Decide now."
Corvus’s jaw worked. Eve could see the calculation in his eyes....weighing his options, measuring his support, realizing he had none.
"The Vampire Clans will comply," he said finally, the words sounding like they’d been dragged from him. "Under protest."
"Your protest is noted. Your compliance is required." Eve’s voice softened slightly. "If you have genuine concerns about implementation methodology, not about the requirements themselves but about how to meet them while respecting vampire cultural practices....I’m willing to discuss reasonable accommodations. But the core provisions are not negotiable."
She could see Corvus struggling with his pride. Then: "We may have suggestions for implementation approaches that would work better for clan structure."
"Submit them formally. If they don’t undermine the core accountability requirements, I’ll consider them." Eve paused. "But Corvus? Don’t mistake flexibility for weakness. And don’t test me like this again."
"Understood, Your Majesty."
"Good. Now...does anyone else have concerns they’d like to raise while we’re all assembled?"
Silence.
"Excellent. Then this emergency session is concluded. Thank you all for your time."
Eve ended the call and immediately felt her legs go weak. She sat down heavily, adrenaline draining.
"Holy fuck," Damon said. "That was incredible."
"You demolished him," Silas added. "Professionally. Publicly. And left him no choice but to comply."
Damian pulled her against him. "I’m so proud of you. You didn’t bend. Didn’t compromise. Just enforced the rules you established."
"I threatened to exile an entire faction," Eve said, the reality of what she’d just done sinking in. "What if he’d called my bluff?"
"It wasn’t a bluff," Damian said. "If he’d refused to comply, you would have had to follow through. But you read him correctly, he doesn’t actually want to leave the Conclave. He just wanted to carve out special treatment. You refused, and he backed down."
"Still terrifying."
"But necessary." Silas squeezed her hand. "You can’t let factions undermine the reform through constant challenge. Drawing a hard line now prevents months of similar attempts."
Eve leaned into Damian, feeling exhaustion crash over her again. "I need a nap. And possibly a vacation. And definitely...."
"Sex?" Damon suggested with a wicked grin. "Because watching you dominate that Conclave session was extremely attractive."
Despite everything, Eve laughed. "Is everything about sex with you three?"
"When it comes to you? Yes," all three said in unison.
They gave her thirty minutes to decompress, eat something, and transition from Queen-mode back to just being Eve. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Then Damon appeared at the bedroom door with clear intent in his eyes.
"Feeling better?" he asked.
"Mostly. Still processing the fact that I basically threatened a powerful vampire lord."
"You didn’t threaten. You stated consequences." Damon moved closer. "And you were magnificent doing it. Powerful. Authoritative. Absolutely in control."
"Is this leading somewhere?"
"Very much yes." His hand slid into her hair. "Because watching you wield that kind of authority makes me want things. Specifically, makes me want to remind you that you’re not just our Queen. You’re our mate. And while you’re commanding Conclave sessions, we’re thinking about all the ways we want to claim you afterward."
Heat spiked through Eve’s exhaustion. "You want to....right now?"
"Right now. Before you have to deal with the next crisis or pack duty or anything else." Damon’s mouth found her neck. "While you’re still feeling powerful and in control. I want to show you what that power does to us."
His teeth scraped her pulse point and Eve’s breath caught.
"Where are Damian and Silas?"
"Giving us privacy. This is just me and you." Damon pulled back to look at her. "Unless you’d rather rest...."
"No." Eve’s hands found his shirt, already working the buttons. "No, I want this. Want you."
Damon’s smile was dark and promising. "Good. Because I have plans. Very specific plans that involve you screaming my name."
He stripped her efficiently, then backed her toward the bed.
