The Rising Phoenix
Chapter 1015: Finally Understand What Ning Shoukai Feel
Within seconds, the three of them completely lost the ability to move and collapsed onto the floor, utterly paralysed. Seeing the definitive outcome of the brief clash, Ji Yuan expressionlessly stepped forward from the sidelines.
"The fight is over." Ji Yuan announced calmly, bringing the sparring session to an official end.
Bai Xifeng immediately deactivated all of her runes. The three men dropped fully to the ground, breathing frantically as they struggled to recover their breath. They finally understood what Ning Shoukai had been talking about earlier. If Bai Xifeng had truly been their enemy, they were absolutely certain that they would have died right then and there.
Ning Shoukai walked over to the three men with a bright, knowing smile on his face.
"So, you understand now, right?" Ning Shoukai asked with a look that said I told you so.
"So, you understand now, right?" Ning Shoukai asked with a knowing look.
"Yes," The three men answered at the exact same time, their voices still strained.
Bai Xifeng also walked over to them and casually tossed three vials in their direction. Seeing something being thrown toward them, they instinctively reached out and caught the vials.
"Drink it. It’s an Energy Recovery Elixir." Bai Xifeng stated simply.
The three of them immediately popped open the lids and poured the liquid down their throats. The effect was instant. They felt a sudden warmth rush through their veins, recovering nearly seventy-five per cent of their depleted energy.
After that, they listened intently to Ji Yuan’s detailed analysis of the fight. They nodded repeatedly while taking diligent notes, genuinely happy to gain some valuable knowledge about fighting an Inscriber. The next time they faced Bai Xifeng in a match, they would definitely make good use of those strategies.
After the discussion ended, they finally left the Inscriber Division.
"Teacher, why did you tell them the strategy?" Bai Xifeng asked curiously.
"To force you to fix the bad habits that you currently have. Only then will you no longer have any weaknesses left." Ji Yuan stated while glancing at Bai Xifeng once.
Bai Xifeng did not have any retort to that. In truth, she felt the exact same way as well.
....
The next morning, someone from the Armament Master Division came over to the Inscriber Division. This time, it was not a student, but a teacher. He had heard that Bai Xifeng had sold the Stone-Clad Wolves to the Armament Master Division and had even helped their division secure an excellent deal with the guild to dismantle the carcasses. Because of that, he did not dare treat Bai Xifeng with even a shred of disrespect.
Bai Xifeng appeared in front of the teacher while still yawning sleepily, rubbing her eyes.
"Xifeng, there is a guest here." Ji Yuan gently reminded her.
Bai Xifeng glanced over before stretching lazily. After finishing her stretches, she was finally ready to talk to the visitor.
"Alright, who are you?" Bai Xifeng asked, raising her eyebrow.
"Student Bai, I am Shao Yusheng, a teacher from the Armament Master Division. Head Teacher Zhou sent me to inform you that the dismantling process has been completed, and he would like you to come over to our division." Shao Yusheng stated politely.
"Oh... I see... Okay... I understand. I am going now." Bai Xifeng said as she stood up.
The earlier she went there, the earlier the deal could be settled. After all, she still had a Poison Master class to attend afterwards and did not want to be late.
Shao Yusheng and Bai Xifeng soon arrived at the Armament Master Division. Once again, Bai Xifeng instantly became the centre of attention. A lot of students began whispering among themselves the moment they saw her walk by.
"Why does Student Bai always come to our division?"
"You are right. We see her around our division quite often lately."
"Does the teacher want to invite her to be an Armament Master?"
"Look at that. Today she is walking right alongside Teacher Shao."
"Well, I don’t mind having her around. At least I can admire her beauty."
"Humph... Your mind is always full of beautiful women. No wonder your work keeps getting criticised by the teachers."
"We already have our own Student Bai. She is talented and beautiful, too."
"Yeah. What good does an Inscriber have anyway? They just write useless things."
The students continued discussing the topic, never considering for a moment that both Shao Yusheng and Bai Xifeng might be able to hear them. Shao Yusheng glanced at Bai Xifeng and saw that she remained completely calm and unaffected. Therefore, he assumed that she had not heard the discussion at all and secretly felt relieved.
In reality, Bai Xifeng remained calm simply because she did not care in the slightest. Instead, she was completely daydreaming about what she wanted to eat for her next meal.
They finally arrived at a room, which she assumed should be Zhou Yaoting’s office. As it turned out, her guess was entirely correct.
"Student Bai, you may enter this room. Head Teacher Zhou is waiting for you inside." Shao Yusheng stated.
"Okay. Thank you, Teacher Shao, for guiding me here." Bai Xifeng bowed her head politely.
Bai Xifeng knocked on the door. Only after she heard the deep voice from inside telling her to enter did she turn the knob and open it.
Zhou Yaoting was smiling warmly at Bai Xifeng as she stepped inside.
"Student Bai, come in and have a seat." Zhou Yaoting gestured toward the empty chair across from him.
Bai Xifeng did exactly as Zhou Yaoting said. She walked inside and sat down directly opposite him.
"Why does Head Teacher Zhou want to see me?" Bai Xifeng asked directly, cutting straight to the point.
