The Smiling Death
Chapter 485: Then let’s go to Vampire Kingdom together in the future
Seraphina heard him with thoughtful expression.
"You are right. I didn’t think about all that."
"Yes. So we probably won’t meet. Maybe if we visit the Vampire Kingdom someday."
With a smile, Seraphina said, "Sure. I want to go there at least once."
Amon nodded. "Then let’s go together in the future.
"Yes."
She smiled gently. The sun was slowly setting. Orange light gradually spread across the city.
Amon leaned against the railing while looking at her smile.
Her golden hair moved gently with the breeze.
"Hey!! What are you talking about? Where are you going?"
The beautiful moment was suddenly interrupted by an elf.
Amon clicked his tongue.
"It’s nothing. We were discussing the Vampire Kingdom and decided to visit it together in the future. Maybe even visit Scarlett’s territory."
Eliana immediately brightened.
"Nice. I will come with you guys too."
Amon nodded.
"Sure. We will bring Marcus and Aisha as well."
"Yes!"
Marcus frowned. "Oi, why are you including me without asking first?"
Amon and Eliana completely ignored him and continued talking.
And so, the peaceful first day in the Demon Kingdom continued.
On the way back to the manor,
Amon sat comfortably inside the vehicle while looking out the window.
Professor Adelia clapped her hands to get everyone’s attention.
"Students! I hope you enjoyed the first day. Tomorrow we will go monster hunting outside the city. You might get to see some new types of monsters there."
The students immediately became excited. Everyone nodded cheerfully.
Amon looked outside again. Then something caught his attention. A building constructed from black stone.
Its architecture was beautiful and elegant.
It was a temple.
And in the Demon Kingdom, people didn’t worship the Light Goddess.
They worshipped the Abyssal Goddess.
’Interesting... now that I think about it, religion was really one of the reasons these nations became enemies. We worship the Light Goddess while they worship the Abyssal Goddess.’
What Amon thought was correct.
However, one of the biggest reasons the peace treaty had succeeded was because of the increasing number of atheists in current times.
Both in the Human Kingdom and the Demon Kingdom.
There were still far many believers. But they were nowhere near as fanatical as the people of the past. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Back then, many followers devoted their entire lives to their gods.
Amon himself was a perfect example.
He believed gods existed.
But he usually only remembered the Goddess when his life was in danger or when he found himself in serious trouble.
Just like that, the vehicle eventually returned to the manor.
The students soon returned to the manor after spending the entire day exploring the capital city of the Demon Kingdom.
The sky outside had already turned orange. The sun was slowly disappearing beyond the horizon. Warm evening light covered the city.
The moment the vehicles stopped, students began getting out one after another. Many were still talking excitedly about everything they had seen throughout the day.
Everything felt exciting. Amon stepped out of the vehicle and stretched his arms.
"Hah~"
A satisfied smile appeared on his face. "This place is amazing."
Not far away, Eliana nodded repeatedly. "Yes! We need to explore more tomorrow."
Marcus sighed. "You still have energy?"
"Of course!" The elf princess looked at him as if he had asked something ridiculous.
Aisha simply walked past them. "I am going to my room."
Without waiting for anyone, she entered the manor.
Seraphina followed behind her at a calm pace.
The group eventually separated and headed toward their own rooms.
After all, dinner would still take some time. Everyone wanted to freshen up first.
---
Amon entered his room.
The room was far larger than anything he had expected.
A large bed occupied one side. A comfortable sofa sat near a fireplace. Beautiful paintings decorated the walls.
The large window overlooked a portion of the capital city. Even now he still found it hard to believe that the Demon Royal Family had allowed them to stay in such a luxurious place.
"Hah..."
He dropped onto the bed. Then after resting briefly, he went to wash himself. After getting refreshed and changing into casual clothes, he finally left his room.
The manor’s corridors were quiet. Most students were probably still preparing themselves.
Since it was almost dinner time, Amon decided to head downstairs.
Just then a sound came.
Beep.
His pager suddenly vibrated.
Amon blinked. "Hm?"
He took it out. The message had been sent by Professor Jolene.
All students are to gather immediately in the entrance hall. Come down as soon as possible.
Amon frowned.
"What happened?"
Fortunately, he was already heading downstairs. So he simply continued walking.
Soon he reached the ground floor. The moment he entered the entrance hall, he noticed something unusual.
All the students had already gathered. They stood neatly in rows.
Even the professors were present.
Amon quickly spotted Seraphina. He walked over and stood beside her.
Then he lowered his voice. "What’s going on?"
Seraphina glanced at him. Her expression remained calm as always.
"The Demon Empress is coming."
Amon’s eyes widened. "The Queen?"
Seraphina nodded. "Professor Jolene asked everyone to gather so we could properly greet her."
Amon immediately understood. That certainly explained the atmosphere.
After all this wasn’t just some noble. This was the ruler of an entire Kingdom.
Amon straightened his posture.
The hall gradually became silent. Everyone waited. Then the massive entrance doors slowly opened.
Creaaaak.
Several armored knights entered first. Their heavy footsteps echoed throughout the hall.
The students immediately became serious. The knights moved toward both sides of the entrance.
Then they stopped. Standing perfectly still.
Like some statues, the maids and butlers working inside the manor immediately bowed.
The professors stepped forward.
Professor Jolene, Asher and Adelia, all three lowered their heads respectfully.
The students quickly followed.
Amon bowed as well. His gaze remained fixed on the floor. He couldn’t even see the person entering.
Only the sound of approaching footsteps reached his ears.
The entire hall became silent. No one dared speak.
Only sound of metallic footsteps could be heard. Then it stopped.
A voice filled with authority echoed throughout the hall.
"Enough."
The voice was calm.
It was elegant and powerful. A voice that naturally drew everyone’s attention.
"There is no need for this."
The footsteps stopped. "You may raise your heads."
Amon immediately straightened. Then he finally saw her.
