Chapter 740: Chapter 740: No Mercy

They wanted to possess her. As a result, they confidently approached her.

Tammy immediately noticed their arrival. She tilted her head slightly and looked at them with mild curiosity.

"Are you here to submit?"

At her question, Jackal laughed loudly. His companions joined him. Walking forward, he grinned shamelessly.

"Yes, my queen," he mocked. "I am here to surrender... to your beauty."

Instead of stopping at a respectful distance, he continued walking toward her.

Tammy showed no fear whatsoever. She merely observed him with calm interest.

Jackal reached out his hand toward her. However, before he could touch her, his arm suddenly twisted.

A horrifying cracking sound echoed through the area. "AAAAHHHH!"

Jackal screamed.

His hand bent at unnatural angles while his flesh began deforming as though an invisible force were crushing it.

"Bitch!" he roared through gritted teeth. "What are you doing?!"

Tammy chuckled softly. "I hate it when someone touches me."

Nearby, Coco watched the scene calmly.

Using her psychic abilities, she effortlessly dealt with Jackal and his companions.

A strange pressure suddenly formed inside Jackal’s body.

The next second, he was slammed violently into the ground. His companions suffered the same fate.

One after another, they crashed onto the earth. Blood spilled from their mouths as they writhed in agony.

Tammy watched them struggle before speaking casually.

"Do you understand the difference between us now?"

Jackal glared at her with bloodshot eyes.

"You bitches just wait!" he shouted. "You will regret this! I will..."

Before he could finish speaking, Tammy drew a sword.

According to her, it was a weapon commonly used by the people of Injustice Earth.

Without hesitation, she swung it. The next moment, Jackal’s head separated from his body.

His companions met the same fate shortly afterward.

Many spectators felt their blood run cold. Several people stumbled backward in fear.

Others lowered their heads and avoided looking directly at Tammy.

As for Jackal, he never even understood how he died. One moment he was dreaming about another conquest.

The next, his life had ended. He was not the only one. Over the following days, countless humans attempted to challenge Tammy.

Some were evil. Some were innocent. Some wished to protect their families. Others were simply curious.

Yet the outcome never changed. Anyone who refused to become a slave, attempted to attack her, or approached her with hostile intentions was killed mercilessly.

Tammy herself eventually grew bored.

More than anything, she became obsessed with one particular question.

What kind of reaction was Ivy having?

Meanwhile, Ivy spent every waking moment preparing for the coming conflict.

Maps, reports, and battle plans covered every available table around her.

She even uploaded a video to the internet, hoping that humanity would finally take Tammy’s warnings seriously before it became too late.

As a result, when Ivy posted a video publicly declaring that Tammy was not lying and that a genuine threat to humanity was approaching, the entire world began to take the situation seriously.

After all, who was Ivy? She was the woman who had survived the apocalypse itself.

If someone like her was issuing a warning, how could anyone afford to ignore it?

The video spread across the internet at an astonishing speed.

News channels replayed her message repeatedly, while social media platforms were flooded with discussions and theories.

Soon, leaders from countless nations requested meetings with Ivy.

Prime Ministers, Presidents, military commanders, and intelligence agencies all sought direct communication with her.

Although overwhelmed by the endless requests, Ivy eventually agreed.

A global conference was organized.

Inside a massive command room illuminated by countless screens, Ivy stood before the cameras.

Looking at the assembled world leaders, Ivy spoke in a flat but serious voice.

"The threat is very close."

No one interrupted her. "The enemy we are facing is not something humanity has encountered before."

For the first time, she publicly disclosed the existence of superior beings.

Although many leaders initially struggled to believe such a revelation, Ivy’s reputation prevented them from dismissing her words outright.

By the time the meeting ended, every nation had begun treating the matter as an international emergency.

Emergency broadcasts were issued. Governments instructed citizens to prepare for potential conflict.

Military forces were mobilized. Mercenary groups began recruiting members. Private organizations started forming defensive alliances.

However, the majority of humanity chose a different option. Millions began traveling toward Ivy’s territory.

Some marched on foot. Others used trains, buses, aircraft, and any transportation they could find.

The reason was simple. When faced with an unknown threat, people instinctively sought safety.

And in their minds, Ivy represented safety. ’If she survived the apocalypse, then surely she can protect us from aliens too.’

That was the belief shared by countless people.

From humanity’s perspective, these so-called superior beings were simply aliens with extraordinary powers.

When Coco observed these developments, she immediately reported everything to Tammy.

Tammy merely chuckled. "It’s pointless."

A cruel smile appeared on her face.

Even though a large portion of humanity had gathered under Ivy’s protection, Tammy remained completely unconcerned.

After all, humanity would not only be facing half of its own population that had already submitted to her.

They would also be facing three superior beings and the reinforcements currently traveling toward Earth.

Thinking about the hopeless odds, Tammy laughed softly.

One month passed amid growing dread. During that time, Ivy used every resource available to her.

She possessed billions of points.

Without hesitation, she spent enormous amounts acquiring cultivation techniques, defensive arts, combat manuals, and advanced weapon blueprints.

The Temporal Storage Interface continuously provided options.

Some weapons looked so advanced that even Ivy struggled to understand their principles.

Others possessed destructive capabilities beyond anything modern humanity could produce.

She also purchased several powerful defensive artifacts.

Unfortunately, a new problem soon emerged.

The materials required to manufacture most of those weapons did not exist on Earth.

When Ivy realized this, frustration filled her heart. Still, she refused to give up.

Instead, she invested her own resources into strengthening humanity as much as possible.

The reason for her determination stemmed from an unusual gift she had received just one day earlier.

At the time, Ivy had been supervising military drills.

Suddenly, a soldier approached her.

"Commander, someone claiming to be your family member is waiting at the entrance."

Hearing that, Ivy frowned. ’A family member?’

Without wasting time, she headed toward the entrance. However, when she arrived, she found no one there.

Instead, a strange box rested on the ground. The object looked completely ordinary.

Yet its sudden appearance sent a chill down her spine.

The surrounding guards looked equally confused.

Nobody had seen anyone place it there. At first, Ivy instinctively wanted to destroy it.

However, the Temporal Storage Interface quickly intervened. "It is not dangerous."

Only after hearing that did Ivy suppress her instincts.

Carefully opening the box, she discovered a neatly folded letter.

The moment she began reading it, her back turned cold. Every hair on her body stood upright.

The letter read:

"Dear Ivy, this is Tammy speaking. I am officially challenging you. On our planet, when someone wishes to challenge another person, we do not act behind their back. We announce it openly. Therefore, I am informing you that we are now challenging you. Also, after I take over this planet, the first person I will kill is you. I will enslave your soul and take possession of your body."

Ivy’s expression darkened.

The handwriting continued. There was even a slight pause between the paragraphs, as though the writer had stopped to remember something.

Then the next lines appeared.

"You killed Jerry, Haku, Jeff, Ferrero, and Ariana. I will make certain that every single one of them is avenged. I will personally give you the worst possible death. Not even all of humanity will be able to protect you. So live while you can. Enjoy your remaining time while you still have it."

The moment Ivy finished reading, she quietly folded the letter.

Without speaking further, she returned to the base.

Then she buried herself in work. She strengthened her own army.

Since enormous numbers of civilians were arriving every day, Ivy refused to turn them away.

Instead, she mobilized every available resource. Everyone worked day and night.

By the time the month ended, more than ten million people had gathered within Ivy’s territory.

The responsibility placed upon her shoulders became unimaginably heavy.

As a result, Ivy gradually became exhausted.

If not for Silas’s constant support and the energy he occasionally supplied, Ivy might have collapsed long ago.

On the twenty-ninth day, Silas finally confronted her.

"Ivy, if you continue like this and appear on the battlefield tomorrow, you will be severely sleep-deprived."

Silas crossed his arms. "Your performance will be greatly affected."

His gaze softened slightly. "Is that what you want?"

Ivy remained silent for several seconds before reluctantly nodding.

She knew Silas was right. That same night, however, something unusual happened.

Ivy had a strange dream. Inside that dream, she saw another version of herself.

Or rather, she saw the person she had been in a previous life.
