Barren Hill

Jeremy Night left the hill and went deeper into the wilderness. On the way, he left behind a secret mark. Only he could understand the mark.

He was wondering where the black hyenas were located. He didn’t know whether anyone from the base had traveled this far.

Suddenly, he saw that the black hyena had stopped. It quickly hid behind a tree.

Seeing the beast’s actions, he was concerned. He activated his eye power. Then he saw a group of four-legged, dog-type hybrid beasts.

These beasts were common and very large in population. They could be found everywhere. They were once domesticated pets, but the mutation had changed everything.

They had become overnight killers in a single day. Their strength might be around the mid-tiers. But history showed that these hybrid dog beasts were responsible for a greater number of massacres when the mutation happened.

Ever since then, their population has increased in the wilderness. The predecessors tried to wipe them out, but their numbers were too many to keep track of and kill.

He shook his head. He had thought the black hyena would smoothly leave. But he didn’t expect the dog beasts to appear.

Jeremy worried that the dog beasts were about to find the black hyena. Then the black hyena would die for sure.

Then that exact situation happened. The black hyena which was hiding behind the tree was spotted by the dog beasts. It was because of the smell of the blood.

The six dog beasts surrounded the black hyena.

Screech!

The next second, the black hyena let out a hysterical sound. It was calling for help. The next second, the dog beasts charged at the hyena.

Seeing that, Jeremy touched his gun. But he controlled himself. His ultimate goal was to find out the location of the hyena group.

The black hyena had called out for help. Even if the black hyena died, the rest of the group would arrive soon.

The black hyena made a sound at the dog beasts. The six dog beasts were acting as a team. The next second, they pounced at the beast.

Screech!

The dog beasts had a successful bite. Yet one of them was bitten down by the hyena. The dog roared in pain. The other dogs tried to drag the black hyena.

The scene looked gory. In the nighttime, he continued to observe the place. The situation of the black hyena got worse. Despite its strong jaw, it had only one mouth.

It could not fight against the numbers. The blood was flowing out from the injuries and landing on the ground.

The ground was dyed in blood. Just as he thought the black hyena was going to die, he heard hysterical sounds one by one.

Swoosh!

Six hyenas appeared out of nowhere and charged at the dog beasts. The numbers had become equal, except for the injured one.

Boom!

The fight continued to occur. In a one-versus-one, the dog beasts were weak. After getting hurt, the dog beasts fled from the place. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"Feather Steps!"

Jeremy used the footwork. He stealthily approached the Tier-5 black hyena group. When he got closer, the beasts were alerted by his presence.

The hyenas knew the scent of humans.

Screech!

The seven black hyenas looked at him with blood-red eyes. Including a injured one, it communicated with the rest of the beasts.

Jeremy became vigilant. Usually, in such a group, there must be a leader. But here, the beasts were all in the same tier. He felt something was wrong.

But he decided to eliminate them first. He once again used the footwork. His body moved with great agility.

Boom!

The hyenas charged at him the next second. He moved closer to the side of the body of the beast. He avoided a front collision.

"Shadow Slash"

He drew the blade and swung at the beast. The blade moved swiftly with great speed. It landed at the neck precisely before severing the beast’s head.

He made a perfect arc. He then targeted the other beasts. He leaped over the hyena’s head and stabbed it.

The blade, covered in starlight power, ignored the defense and pierced the skull. His actions were fluid and swift.

As time passed, he executed the shadow slash moves to kill the beasts. After killing the seven beasts, he took their decapitated heads and stored them inside the storage ring.

He then decided to move away from the spot. He felt a sense of crisis all of a sudden. His back went cold. He was feeling it for the first time.

Jeremy Night immediately used his eye power. His eyes scanned the place. He then turned around and saw a massive beast over 4 meters tall.

It was a Tier-6 Black Hyena. The eyes of the beast were completely red. Jeremy Night’s doubts disappeared right now.

He had been wondering where the leader was. Now, the leader appeared right before him.

Swoosh!

Jeremy Night then retreated using the feather steps. At the same time, he gripped the blade and added more starlight power.

Boom!

The Tier-6 Black Hyena’s presence was overbearing. If it were others, they would have had a mental breakdown from the coercion itself.

It wasn’t like Jeremy Night was not under coercion. He was feeling the coercion itself, but then the unknown beast egg reacted and provided him with internal cover.

The Tier-6 Black Hyena leaped at him all of a sudden.

It appeared as if a small hill was above his head.

He used the footwork to accelerate his speed. He moved backwards and escaped the range of the beast. Despite that, the beast was following him.

Jeremy Night used the trees as cover. But the trees were crushed by the rampage of the Tier-6 Hyena. They were easily crushed.

Jeremy was fleeing. He remembered his mission was to kill the Tier-5 Hyenas. The Tier-6 Hyena was not on the list. He didn’t know whether to take the risk or not.

He didn’t want his abilities to get too much exposure. Even if he managed to hunt down the Tier-6 beast, he couldn’t tell others.

It was already shocking for them that he could fight across tiers by skipping two ranks.

They would be terrified if they learned that he skipped three tiers.
