Chapter 49 -40 Little Vinegar Spirit_2
Sitting down, he would often unconsciously touch his forehead or cheekbone, and when he stood, his hands would just naturally slip into his pockets, yet he exuded an air of composure and relaxation as if it were innate to his very being.
His arms were long, his wrists the perfect circumference, neither femininely delicate nor completely masculinely rugged, but rather distinct in their joints, slim and graceful with prominent veins, cool and pale.
When he touched his forehead or slipped his hands into his pockets, his arms would form a natural curve, appearing careless and languidly at ease.
If someone with shorter arms tried to imitate that pose, it tended to come across as a rigid line, the effect feeling forced and contrived.
So much so, that after seeing such poise in Wen Yangzhi, when she later saw others with similar gestures, she couldn’t help but think they were imitating him.
But not a single person could pull it off as appealingly as Wen Yangzhi.
Because she loved him, the whole world became him, yet no one could replace him.
My brother, unlike any other man.
She watched him with sheer joy, her love nearly spilling out of her expressions, visible for anyone to see how fond she was of the man before her, but the moment Wen Yangzhi glanced her way, she would immediately withdraw her unabashed, adoring gaze, fearful he would see it.
At mealtime, she would always watch Wen Yangzhi from the corner of her eye, wanting to cherish each unique moment, to collect every moment concerning him in her mind, pretending to play with her phone while carefully capturing her brother on camera.
Like collecting stamps, she was happy to have just one more moment of him.
Even before she knew her possessive desire for npd was strong, she was already embodying obsessive love, stepping footprints one by one into the thick snow, her personality craving the utmost privileged love, to be placed first above all else.
When returning home at night, she purposely took the passenger seat in his car, Wen Yangzhi’s hand resting on the door’s close button beside the steering wheel, pausing for a moment before resuming as usual.
Even if it was just momentarily capturing this seat, she would secretly be delighted.
However, once back home, she wouldn’t see Wen Yangzhi for days on end.
Finally, seizing an opportunity, the housekeeper needed to deliver a late-night snack to Jing Building, she made an excuse, claiming she needed to ask her brother about a school application and it just so happened she could help take it to him.
The housekeeper, relieved of not having to go to Jing Building and thus avoiding trouble, quickly handed the congee to her.
When Yun Yuwan carried the late-night snack into the study, Wen Yangzhi was facing his laptop, forehead propped against a stack of A4 paper filled with handwriting, silently pondering.
She knocked at the door.
The man’s reserved and detached voice came through:
“Come in.”
Yun Yuwan entered with a heart fluttering with excitement, Wen Yangzhi not lifting his head.
She thought he resembled a deity suspended in mid-air, his eyes half-open and withdrawn, exuding an ascetic masculinity, calmly and steadily observing the world, yet never prying too much, his presence virtually devoid of human warmth, keeping humanity distinctly at bay with the aura surrounding him.
Yun Yuwan approached his desk and remained silent, prompting Wen Yangzhi to sense something amiss and look up to find her there.
Her lips were slightly bitten, an unhappy expression on her face.
He turned slightly towards her, grasping her delicate wrist with one hand, the chill on him easing with his gentle voice, “Brother is writing a paper, what’s wrong?”
Her wrist held by his hand, she couldn’t be fully happy, “Brother, you haven’t paid any attention to me since you came home.”
He put down his pen with his other hand, asking her softly:
“What do you want to do with brother?”
She hadn’t expected him to ask that, a rush of desires flashing through her mind, but she knew she couldn’t voice them.
She knew he was busy, that her request was somewhat unreasonable, but she longed for his response:
“Can you keep me company for a while?”
He explained patiently, “But brother is a bit busy, chasing a deadline.”
She didn’t want to bother him, to jeopardize his work, yet she couldn’t bear to let go of the hard-won opportunity:
“Could I just sit by your side and read comic books? I won’t make any noise to disturb you.”
Wen Yangzhi glanced to the side, as if uncertain whether her presence would hinder his urgent need to finish the paper, but nonetheless consented, “Alright.”
Yun Yuwan was elated, but as she read, she unwittingly fell asleep, sitting on the carpet, her head against the glass window.
When she awoke, she found herself in her brother’s bed.

Covered with Wen Yangzhi’s blanket, resting on his pillow.
The bed was filled with the slightly cold but refined and masculine scent of Wen Yangzhi, and she burrowed into the blankets, inhaling deeply, the soft, warm blanket permeated with her brother’s scent.
Her brother allowed her to sleep in his bed, and in her hazy joy, she felt accepted by him.
