A Farmer's Journey To Immortality-Chapter 439: Disturbed by the Three Core Formation Lords
[ Druid's Heart ]
The moment the blessing triggered, Aksai felt a sudden surge of energy course through him.
His heartbeat thundered in his ears, so loud it almost drowned out everything else.
His body grew warmer, his muscles tensed, and his vision sharpened as if the world had slowed down.
"Damn," he muttered, clenching his fists. "This… this feels insane. It feels like I have drugged myself with some good stuff."
He didn't have long to marvel. The first specter raised its hand, conjuring a fireball that crackled with searing energy before hurling it directly at him.
[ Fire Resistance ]
Aksai reacted instinctively. With his boosted response time, he sidestepped just in time, the fireball grazing his shoulder and dissipating into the air.
"Interesting," he muttered, his eyes darting to his shoulder. "That should've hurt way more." The blessing's fire resistance had halved the damage, leaving only a faint warmth where the fireball had grazed him.
The specters didn't wait. All four of them began to move in tandem, their attacks synchronized as if they were connected by a hive mind.
One sent a stream of flames surging toward him, while another summoned a barrage of smaller fire arrows, raining them down from above.
Aksai ducked and rolled, his movements precise and fluid thanks to the 10% boost from Druid's Heart. He leaped forward, closing the gap with the specter that had conjured the flame stream. He didn't bother casting his potent Spirit spells right away. Instead, he made use of his body cultivation realm to tackle the incoming attacks.
"Let's see how you like this," he growled, delivering a qi-infused punch to the spectre's midsection. His fist connected with a satisfying crack, and the spectral being staggered backward, its form flickering as it rebalanced itself.
Ideally, Spectres wouldn't receive physical damage from regular attacks. Even if one could use special Spirit spells against them, the damage would be halved.
However, qi-infused attacks were different. They weren't strictly elemental in nature. Instead, they could be used to disrupt one's qi. And since every dead and living being had qi in some form, Aksai's martial arts could be used in such a situation.
Even though the physical damage the spectres would receive from qi-infused attacks wouldn't be much, it didn't matter. As long as the attacks could be used to disrupt the rhythm of the opponents, Aksai could make good use of his versatility in terms of battle styles.
After landing a bunch of well-timed and well-placed blows, the spectres had received significant damage. So much so that the damage was visible through their deformed visage.
"Not so tough now, huh?" Aksai grinned.
But his confidence was short-lived as another specter flanked him, sending a fire whip lashing toward his back. It seemed that the specters could "heal" from injuries as long as they were provided with a supply of qi.
Of course, it was Velia who had fixed up her pawns so that Aksai could test his blessings thoroughly on them.
Swoosh. Zoom. Slack!
The whip struck him, but the fire resistance absorbed most of the heat. The sting was real, but it was manageable.
Aksai spun on his heel, retaliating with a high kick that sliced through the specter's chest, causing it to falter.
As the fight continued, Aksai began to notice how the blessings worked together.
The Druid's Heart made him faster, stronger, and more agile, letting him stay ahead of the specters' attacks. His reaction time felt almost supernatural even for his current Spirit cultivation realm, allowing him to anticipate and counter their moves.
The Fire Resistance dulled the sting of their fire-element Spirit spells, turning what should have been devastating attacks into minor nuisances.

The blessing didn't grant him complete immunity as he could still receive damage from potent Spirit spells of the fire element. However, he couldn't complain much since it was the most primal form of the blessing.
If Aksai wanted to get even more out of his blessings, he needed to work hard in order to elevate their effects and ranks. Aksai was sure that it was possible to even gain complete fire immunity as long as he had enough Spirit Farming Points to upgrade the Fire Resistance blessing.
Furthermore, Velia had also told him that the amount of Spirit Farming Points required to unlock or upgrade a certain blessing would decrease as long as Aksai kept progressives in his cultivation journey. It meant that it would be easier for him to upgrade certain blessings as he progressed further in his Spirit and Qi cultivation paths.
If Aksai managed to unlock mind-related blessings, his improvement in the mind cultivation realm would help him the same way. In short, the blessings he would receive would never get outdated. In fact, they would keep on improving with his growth, enabling him to make the most out of them the stronger he became.

The battle continued as Aksai kept learning more about the blessings he had received.
The specters weren't pushovers. After facing Aksai with his blessings and qi-infused attacks many times, they adapted quickly, increasing the frequency and variety of their Spirit spells.
One summoned a flaming barrier, blocking Aksai's punch, while another fired a concentrated beam of fire that he narrowly avoided.
"So many variations in fire-element Spirit spells," Aksai muttered, darting forward. "I wonder if my Scarecrows can fight the same way one day."
Saying this, the Spirit farmer leaped into the air, spinning mid-flight, and delivered a devastating roundhouse kick to one of the specters. The force of the blow sent it sprawling into another, disrupting their coordination.
One had to say that Aksai was very good at executing martial arts even though he hadn't made major progress in his body cultivation realm. This was due to the fact that the early-stage martial arts were pretty easy for someone of Aksai's caliber to practise in.
Thanks to the neural link fabric that controlled Aksai's neural responses, Aksai had become a top-tier martial artist even by most of the martial arts worlds' standards. Furthermore, he had his Spirit farm and its resource-rich produce to rely on.
After all, not everybody could have something as revolutionary as Flesh Pumpkins set as their staple food. Even some of the richest martial artists from Sharang could only have something similar to Flesh Pumpkins once every week. That too in a limited quantity.
The body cultivation was almost all about accumulating qi in one's body before refining it. Aksai hadn't done much about the qi refinement. However, he had never stopped accumulating more and more qi with each passing day. Every day, he would raise the total amount of qi his body could store by a level and he kept doing that even after facing stagnation in his body cultivation realm.
As such, Aksai had crazy reserves of Silver Qi for someone of his realm. His early-stage Argent Body qi accumulation was almost similar to someone in the late-stage of the Argent Body Realm.

After a few minutes.
"Two down," Aksai said, turning to face the remaining pair.
The last two specters worked together, launching a combined assault of fire spears and burning waves.
Aksai activated his qi-strengthened shield, bracing himself in a defensive stance. He also managed to extend the blessing's effects to his qi-infused attacks and defenses. This meant his Fire Resistance blessing provided an additional anti-flame buff to his protective qi layer.
The fire spears collided with the shield, dispersing harmlessly. The extension of the blessing's effects was proving invaluable.
Grinning, Aksai used the opening to charge at them.
With one swift motion, he closed the gap between himself and the last specter, channeling his remaining qi into a double-fisted strike. The impact shattered the specter's form, dissolving it into wisps of light.
As the final opponent faded, Aksai dropped to one knee, breathing heavily.
The effects of the Druid's Heart were wearing off, and post-blessing fatigue hit him like a wave.
"Well done," Velia said approvingly as she approached. "You handled yourself better than I expected, lad."
Aksai chuckled weakly, wiping sweat from his brow. "Better than you expected? Seems like you had pretty low expectations of me."
Velia smirked. "Maybe."
Yelia stepped closer, her voice calm and gentle.
"My lord, your coordination with the blessings was commendable. But you'll need to work on managing the fatigue that follows their use.
Instead of relying on the blessing's effects throughout the battle, try using them intermittently—only when you really need them. It might not matter at first, but in longer battles, it will make a significant difference."
Aksai nodded, still catching his breath. "I... I see. I get it. Thanks, Yelia."
He looked at his hands, flexing his fingers as he processed what had just happened. The blessings were powerful, but they demanded careful planning and precise timing.
"Alright," he said, standing up with renewed determination. "I've got a lot to learn, but this is just the start. Let's keep go—"
Swoosh. Zoom. Boom.
Suddenly, the entire treasury hall trembled as if an earthquake had struck. Aksai, Velia, and Yelia turned in unison toward the distant entrance—two giant doors that sealed off the chamber.
Yelia frowned in displeasure as she realized who was causing the disturbance. She then glanced at Aksai, smirking.
"Lad, there are three Third Spirit Realm flies trying to break into the treasury hall. What would you like to do with them?"
It took Aksai a moment to recognize the three Core Formation Lords who were trying to force their way into the treasury hall with all their might.
He also understood the meaning behind Yelia's smile—she was ready to either let them in or dispose of them, depending on his wishes.
After all, eliminating three Core Formation Lords was as easy as breathing for Yelia.
She didn't even need to face them herself; with a simple command, the isolated dimension's safety measures could take care of them effortlessly.
"It seems they're still alive and well," Aksai murmured to himself before a question formed in his mind.
Now what should I do with them? Should I just… kill them?
A cunning glint flashed in Aksai's eyes as he considered the various possibilities.
