Chapter 247: Chapter 247: Busy Working or Busy Hooking Up with Men?

"No need, Miss Sang Qiao, you can go in directly. Actually, this cooperation isn’t that important. The guy who came is a playboy who knows nothing about bargaining."

The assistant spoke diplomatically, though the playboy really was foolish, attempting to get Mr. Si to make concessions without even knowing whether Mr. Si agreed to the contract or not.

And yet, the playboy, leveraging his acquaintance with Mrs. Si, holed up in the office, refusing to leave no matter what.

"Okay." Sang Qiao nodded her head, just about to go and open the door.

Suddenly, the office door was pulled open, and Si Chenli’s tall figure appeared in the doorway, his gaze softly on Sang Qiao, "Why haven’t you come in yet?"

"I was just about to come in." Sang Qiao took a few steps and followed him into the office.

Sure enough, she spotted a man in a blue suit sitting on the couch, with snack wrappers all over the table.

The man’s eyes lit up when he saw Sang Qiao. He quickly wiped the crumbs from around his mouth, "Brother Li, who is this?"

"Your sister-in-law." Si Chenli’s large hand subtly tightened around the young girl’s hand, leading her to the desk, pulling out a chair, and gesturing for her to sit.

After Sang Qiao sat down, he stood beside her, leaning slightly on the desk.

The man in the blue suit immediately looked deflated. Great, his love was dead.

But luckily, his partnership case wasn’t dead yet. He was quick to adapt, "Sister-in-law, hello."

"Hello," Sang Qiao gently nodded to him.

"Brother Li, since sister-in-law came too, I’m like a third wheel here, really out of place. Why don’t you just take a big loss, split sixty-forty—please?"

The man in the blue suit was almost on his knees, not understanding why he wanted to trouble Brother Li that way when it was mainly because his father, to stop him from racing, had really tried everything!

He had to successfully sign the contract with Brother Li to be allowed to race, and his dad had even given him a messy contract asking for a sixty-forty split, typical of his dad!

"Begging won’t help. The money should be saved for the wife," Si Chenli said, his lips curving slightly.

The man in the blue suit was involuntarily fed some dog food. Seeing Brother Li stubborn, and seeing that nothing would persuade him, he turned his pitiful gaze to Sang Qiao.

"Sister-in-law, please help me out. Anything you need in the future, just ask, and I’ll definitely help you!"

Sang Qiao could do nothing but avert her gaze and looked up at the man beside her.

Si Chenli caught the girl’s bewildered glance and hooked his lips slightly. He tapped lightly on the desk, "Bring it here, I’ll sign it. Now get lost, and remember to be there to serve your sister-in-law."

"Yes, yes, yes." The man in the blue suit’s face lit up with a smile as he brought his partnership case over.

Once Si Chenli had signed, he finally breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank you, Brother Li, thank you, sister-in-law!"

He quickly scampered off, but just as he reached the door, suddenly remembering something, he came back, "Brother Li, that... is Si Jing not taking care of things well?"

Si Chenli lifted his eyes, sweeping him a clear "Aren’t you leaving?"

"I’m gone!" Although the man in the blue suit was curious, he decided to find out for himself next time. This time he left decisively, even closing the door behind him.

Si Chenli lowered his gaze to the young girl sitting in his office chair, "Why did you suddenly come over?"

"Can’t I come?" Sang Qiao leaned on the desk, her clear black and white eyes shifting around.

"Can do, just a few more contracts to handle, then I’ll take you out." The man chuckled softly and pulled one of the contracts from beside where she was leaning to look over it.

"Okay, you work, I’ll sit over there on the sofa." Sang Qiao stood up, intending to give him back his space.

A pair of large hands pressed on her shoulders, "No need, sit here, help me with the signing."

Sang Qiao sat back down, and Si Chenli, who had just held the contract, placed it on the table and thoughtfully handed her a pen, his tone containing a smile.

"Sign Si Chenli’s name."

"Okay." Sang Qiao opened the cap and placed it on the end of the pen, the black pen contrasting against her delicate skin, and her handwriting was swift and elegant, quite unlike Si Chenli’s flamboyant script, adding a bit of graceful carelessness.

Next, Si Chenli placed another contract, and Sang Qiao signed each one as it came.

She noticed that some clauses in the contracts of the man’s company were overly complicated, far more so than those in her company, the kind that could trap someone if not careful.

But Si Chenli’s speed of reviewing contracts didn’t change, his brain working extremely fast.

During a moment of distraction, Sang Qiao subconsciously wrote "Sang..." Just as she finished, she realized something was amiss.

She reached out and tugged at the man’s clothes, her eyes revealing a bit of confusion, "I wrote it wrong."

The man also looked over and moved his lips, "No problem, I’ll have someone reprint this one later."

"I’ll go, you sign it yourself." Knowing she was at fault, Sang Qiao picked up the paper and planned to leave.

"Okay."

After Sang Qiao left the room, she went straight downstairs and asked an employee on the way, learning that the print room was on the sixth floor.

When she arrived at the print room, it was crowded, and she lined up in front of a printer.

The Eighth Floor Supervisor noticed Sang Qiao, who had only a single sheet in her hands, and frowned to beckon her over, "Newcomer, come here, print a copy of all these, and bring them up to the eighth floor for me."

Sang Qiao realized the person seemed to be looking in her direction, she turned around to check, and there were no other people beside her.

"What are you looking at? I’m talking to you," the supervisor said with displeasure.

These interns these days are so disappointing, everyone is so busy, only the interns are looking for ways to slack off.

"I’m not new here, find someone else." Sang Qiao didn’t move an inch.

"Which department are you from? Ever heard of helping each other out, do you even know we’re swamped on the eighth floor? Since you’re waiting here anyway, why not just make some copies?"

The supervisor’s anger was thoroughly ignited, unable to believe the lack of initiative.

Is it because she’s relying on her looks to cozy up to some supervisor, so she’s slacking off in the company? She particularly despised people like that and wouldn’t tolerate it.

"Supervisor, let me do the copying instead, maybe her department also has urgent matters to attend to."

A sweet-voiced woman with a round face from the crowd volunteered, she just happened to be from the eighth floor.

"Today I do want to know which department she’s from, what important matters she has to attend to, whether she’s busy working or busy flirting with men."

The Eighth Floor Supervisor sneered, no one had ever been so irresponsible, and today she was determined to put an end to such lazy and selfish behavior in other departments!

She walked over in her high heels, thrust the pile of documents in her hand forward, "Either obediently make the copies, or should I have someone check just how busy your department really is? Too busy to spare even a moment for copying?"
