He started going deeper into the house, checking if the floor was hollow anywhere.

He closed his eyes and used his ability. Chewing on some improved Mana Cookies, he called on the wind and controlled them to enter the crawl along the flooring, trying to find whatever hole he could find.

The floor of such a palace was mostly made of marble-like stone, so it wasn't easy, but he thought there should still be openings if there was a hidden dungeon or something.

One of the most useful skills he awakened in the past few months was a skill called [Wind's Touch], which could allow him to have a 'feel' of whatever the wind touched (not in the perverted sense, but more of another 'sight').

His search, especially when his physical body was limited, would be expedited with it.

It consumed large amounts of mana, however, which was why he was only using it now.

When, after a bit of searching the entire ground floor, nothing except a few hiding small (and empty) spots were revealed, he decided to change strategies.

It was around this time that many of the unconscious guards (temporarily affected by the sleeping bomb they threw earlier) woke up and had been now running around to check what had happened, to see if there were intruders.

Soon, he heard distant gasps and bellows. "Thieves! The treasures are gone!"

"The kids are gone too!"

"Could it have been them? Did they steal everything?!"

"HOW?!"

"No! There were definitely intruders! FIND THEM!"

From the wind's touch, he knew that the kids at least managed to get out of the building, but his ability could not work as well outdoors since there was so much external wind there, so his 'reach' was limited beyond the palace.

He was unaware whether they had met up yet (his aether letter received no report yet, either). All he could do was send a letter to warn the others to hide in a secure place with the kids, and he hoped they had managed to meet up.

With all the chaos going on, it should not be difficult for the kids and the others to blend in.

Anyway, back inside the palace, Eagle settled over one of the beams and used his wind ability to further hide his presence. He narrowed his eyes and waited for a guard to head near where he was.

Since they were so stretched out and the palace was so big, some areas only had one guard looking into them. freewebnoveℓ.com

The fact that the outer guards had no idea about the basement meant it was a relatively exclusive place, likely accessible only to certain individuals and the Lord, and would not be easy to find without any more information.

Soon, a guard appeared underneath him. He jumped down, letting the wind soften both of their falls. He quickly activated the voice blocker too, dragging the guard to one of the corners.

WHAM!

PACK!

SLAM!

Eagle did not pause as he barraged the enemy with attacks until he was half dead, panting a bit since he did not hold back. Fortunately, the man was in his early level 20s, so he was manageable for an elementalist like him.

Using his artificial arm, Eagle lifted the guy by the neck. "Where's the underground dungeons?" he asked, determining whether the man knew anything.

The man glared at him, spitting at him, though Eagle was surrounded by his wind, so it didn't even touch him.

Anyway, Eagle judged that the man did have an idea where it was and forced the remaining truth potion on him.

After a bit of interrogation like before, he did eventually receive a light location for the basement. He killed the guard (who revealed he was just as vile as everyone else) and headed there.

The entrance to the dungeons was not within the building itself which, in retrospect, was understandable as it was a system building. As for whether higher-leveled palaces would have such a thing, they didn't know, but that was beside the point right now.

Rather, the entrance was in one of the gardens outside of it, and he assumed the dungeons itself was underneath this garden.

He went there with his light feet, climbing up to another beam to get near to the interior gardens while chewing on mana cookies to recover his mana by the way.

There were two level 25 guards outside the doors, which was something he could take.

Fortunately, Basset Town was also a relatively new town, only 10 years after they upgraded, and the level gap wasn't extremely high. Most importantly, all of their level 30 powerhouses seemed to have been sent to Alterra.

He waited there, gulping down a mana potion as he waited for it to work before making a move.

After taking a deep breath, he launched himself towards the enemies. Using his good arm to hold his sword, he immediately slashed away using his wind ability to cause as much damage as possible.

The attacks naturally only injured them a bit and damaged some equipment, but he wasn't expecting a one-shot kill anyway.

"WHAT!"

"INTRUDER! INTRUDER!"

However, by this time, the voice blocker was still on to make sure they didn't get interrupted. Before the enemies realized this, Eagle surrounded the three of them with a wind vortex to keep them from leaving the scope of the Blocker.

The leaves nearby flew and continuously barraged at the men. They did not damage them at all, but they were somewhat confusing their senses. One of the guards rushed over Eagle to slash at him, but the leaves made it so that he ended up slashing at the other instead.

"AH!" the guard yelled as a wound appeared on his arm. He glared, attacking in turn and the two injured each other a bit. Of course, they weren't scammed for too long as they recognized the other's voice.

When they realized what happened, they were absolutely livid, and they'd continue yelling to alert the other where they were, and at the same time trying to get attention of the rest of the guards.

Not that those people would hear them, of course.

However, they were too distracted to know this, and they just focused on attacking the intruder…

…who was now right outside the wind vortex.
