Chapter 37 - Are You Serious?

A few seconds earlier, Leander heard an unusual request from Darian.

'Attack exactly at the point above Matteo's head. That's where the blessing on that artifact is the weakest.'

This 𝓬ontent is taken from fгeewebnovёl.co𝙢.

'What?' Leander retorted. 'Sure, since that woman only has one ring, her blessing isn't perfect. But guessing the flaw at random is impossible.'

Darian replied flatly, 'Just attack there. Then, send another attack towards Raon. I'll intercept it and stop him from taking down those two.'

'Don't be an idiot! You're a support—'

'We don't have time. Do you have a better plan?' Darian cut him off quickly. 'I know Raon has the Blessing of the Eclipse. Its effect hasn't activated yet, so right now, his power is just that of a regular High Human. I'll keep him busy. The mage and support can't move either. All you two need to do is attack, forcing the Tank and Fighter to protect the weak point that'll be created. The artifacts and blessings of those two will run out in two minutes.'

Darian had quickly read about some famous blessings in the library of another universe. It was a brief skim, barely twenty minutes. Just short summaries of their effects.

Of course, that wasn't enough to be useful on its own, but moments ago, he had seen in detail how these blessings were used—he saw them in Raon's past, during the mission where Oliver died.

So claiming he knew about this well-known blessing wasn't something hard to explain.

The Blessing of the Eclipse was famous, but very few people chose it. Its power was remarkable and flashy. The user would gain a sudden boost in speed, strength, and resistance, becoming unbeatable against opponents of the same level, even slightly stronger ones.

But this blessing only worked with external support or in rare conditions. After all, who would want a blessing that depended on others to activate?

During the day, the Yang from the star flooded the environment, and even at night, the Yin of the universe filled everything. So, the condition to activate this blessing was simple: the battlefield's light or natural laws had to be obstructed.

In other words, anything that drastically interfered with the Yin and Yang of the surroundings would activate this power. It couldn't be something minor—it had to be something capable of practically eclipsing everything around it.

But maintaining it consumed a massive amount of the user's internal power, so it couldn't be sustained indefinitely, even if the conditions were met. If he couldn't win before his power ran out, it was over.

Leander spoke quickly, 'Raon is still someone who's fought in multiple missions. You're a rookie and a support. You'll get taken down before—'

'Who? That bastard Young Master?' Darian interrupted coldly, his aura turning bloodthirsty, making Veyle and Leander widen their eyes. 'He's a spoiled brat who never fights unless everything is perfectly set up for him. His plan failed, so just do what I say, dammit.'

The two fell silent. This conversation had lasted ten seconds, and then Raon moved, laughing:

"Hahaha, it's over!"

'Fuck it, let's try.' Leander replied and activated his blessing, moving his flying swords.

*CRACK!*

The attack was fast and precise, hitting exactly where Darian had pointed. Then, Veyle and Leander's hearts pounded like drums.

That spot was indeed a weakness in the enemy's blessing. Cracks spread through the space like spiderwebs. A huge opening formed, giving direct access to the two enemies.

Leander made another quick move, attacking Raon.

As soon as Raon blocked, Darian was already five meters away, closing in.

It happened so fast that the enemy Tank and Fighter didn't react.

By the time they realized and tried to move toward Darian...

They stopped. Flying swords tore through the air, and a mist-like cloud moved toward the opening in space.

Both of them widened their eyes and rushed to stop it. That breach was like an open window, leading straight to the vulnerable support and mage.

Earlier, the enemy's trap had made it impossible to target the support and mage. It was a trade-off: their mage and support on one side, their Tank and Fighter on the other. Everyone was locked in place.

That left Leander's group with a support, a mage, and him—a Mystic. How could they possibly survive? It should've been the end.

But now, Darian had locked down Raon, and an opening had formed in the enemy's defenses around their mage and support.

If the enemy Tank and Fighter rushed toward Leander and Veyle or toward Darian, the two at a distance could strike through the breach and take down those two, freeing their allies.

That forced the two enemies to focus on defending the opening. One of the reasons for that was...

In the end, this battle was in Raon's hands.

He had to take down Darian quickly. That way, he could protect the weak spot, free up his Fighter, and let him finish off the fragile mage before dealing with Leander.

A Support wasn't someone who fought directly and barely had any real combat abilities. Sure, experienced Supports always had emergency methods. But this newbie?

It was simple...

"Just you?! Hahaha!" Raon roared with laughter, fully grasping the current situation.

He attacked with a dagger in hand.

But...

Darian simply took a step to the side.

The strike hit nothing but air.

"Oh? What exactly were you trying to hit?"

Darian's mocking voice echoed through the stadium, making the spectators uncomfortable.

Darian was no longer just a strategist. He had fought desperately against the Risen for fifteen days in the trial, learning how to predict their movements through karma.

Raon? To him, Raon was like a lighthouse, radiating karma far darker than any of the Risen from the test. Even with his eyes closed, Darian could predict and evade his attacks.

Another factor was that Darian had repeatedly thrown himself into extreme situations. Whether it was when he died twice or inside the nest, where he had to think relentlessly, staying calm and aware of everything. This developed in him a mindset that only experienced warriors possessed.

And Raon? He was exactly what Darian had called him—a fool who picked that blessing because he could rely on others and a collection of expensive artifacts. He always stayed back, waiting for the perfect, risk-free moment to obliterate his enemies.

He had never truly fought while feeling real danger.

"DIE!"

Raon roared and slashed his dagger wildly, going in for the kill.

But...

"Wait. You're actually serious?"

Darian dodged effortlessly, taking only small steps to the sides.

"BASTARD!"

Raon screamed in rage and grabbed a crystal—another artifact. Now, he was going all in on a single attack, willing to kill no matter the cost.

However, Darian had already seen this move before, in the memories. He knew this artifact Raon always kept as a backup when he couldn't rely on his blessing's power.

Back when Oliver died, Raon had pulled the same trick right before ordering his allies to charge forward without hesitation, crushing the enemy forces.

That move had put Leander's group, positioned further back, in a critical situation.

To save them, Oliver burned everything he had to raise a barrier of light, ensuring his companions' escape. The cost? His lonely death.

It was obvious that if Raon had stayed and both groups had fought together, they'd have had an 80% chance of victory. But would he take even the slightest risk? Of course not.

So, he used his artifact to boost his power and rush forward, slicing through enemies.

Now, in this battle, Raon was about to repeat the same tactic to kill Darian. The artifact granted him multiple close-range strikes that could pierce through space itself.

But Darian was already expecting it. He was ready to act.

*BANG!*

Out of nowhere, a brutal kick came from below—an utterly ruthless move for any man, landing directly between Raon's legs.

The impact sent him flying three meters back.

Raon crashed onto the ground, writhing in agony.

Ridiculous noises escaped his lips, sounding like a pig being slaughtered. The sharp pain shot through his body, intensifying his suffering.

The audience in the stands watched in complete silence. The humiliation Raon suffered was magnified to the extreme, having unfolded in front of everyone.

Darian stepped forward and picked up a small artifact the idiot had dropped... The motion reminded him of something similar he had done in his first real fights.
