An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 44: Psychopath
Chapter 44: Psychopath
Their feet echoed through the empty caves of the dungeon, their flames forcing light into the darkness and keeping their bodies warm.
"This place feels off, I think it would be better if we returned back and communicated with the guild or something," Noel said.
"That makes sense. We’ve been walking for a while, and we haven’t seen anything," Riven agreed with his brother. He didn’t know why, but after walking here for a while, he started feeling something was off.
"Are we leaving already?" A voice suddenly came from behind them. Frightened, they pulled out their swords at the same time, looking for the person.
And then they saw a glow of two crimson yellow eyes piercing through the darkness. They could feel the bloodlust oozing from whatever was there.
"Who are you?" Noel barked a question. He gripped his sword tighter while trying to look at who was there. He pushed the torch forward, trying to illuminate the place more.
"No need for you all to be scared. I’m not here to scare you, but I do want to have your head," the man said and walked closer, revealing himself to them.
"Do you remember me?" he asked, a sadistic smile on his face, his short sword in his hands, ready to attack.
"How the hell would I remember you? This is the first time we are meeting," Riven said.
The man paused after hearing that. His face shifted into a frown, and then he broke into uncontrollable laughter. His cackle echoed off the walls.
"You don’t remember me? How very unexpected, after all you ignored the hell out of me before, feeling all high and mighty.
You really hurt my feelings, kid, and now I’m going to hurt you in ways that you don’t understand," the man said, his eyes turning into slits. He slowly lifted his blade to his lips and licked it slowly, his gaze lingering on Riven as he spoke.
"You mean this dude is someone you know? You know a psychopath?" Noel asked.
"Hey hey hey, don’t just assume. I don’t know who this dude is, but he seems to know me and seemingly had an issue with me," Riven said.
"ENOUGH TALKING. Now you can all die for the sake of my happiness," the man roared and kicked the ground. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"Throw the torch!" Riven yelled, and his brother immediately threw the torch at the man with all his strength, but the man moved fast. He dodged to the side and cut the torch with his short sword.
His speed and execution were beyond stunning. His movements were seamless. One could tell that he was a master of the blade from that alone.
"You think that will stop me?" he roared at the top of his lungs.
"No, but this will," Riven said and used Flame Blast, shooting into the darkness. It seemed the attack was going to hit the target, but suddenly, a gust of wind kicked up around him like a tornado and blocked the Flame Blast.
Riven and Noel were shocked to see that level of magic proficiency that the man showed. They immediately knew that this was about to be a fight they couldn’t win.
"We have to head back to light. Fighting in the darkness would spell the death of us," Riven said.
"Stop making plans while I’m still here," the man said, already a few meters away from Riven, his blade already headed for his head.
The flame on Riven’s hand was the only source of light for them, but it seemed like this man was capable of seeing through the darkness.
Riven only had one free hand with his sword in it. He blocked the attack with that hand alone, but the force of the attack threw him back and slammed him into the wall of the cave. He coughed, saliva spilling from his mouth.
He fell to the ground but managed to get himself up again. The man was charging at him again, but this time Noel moved. His blade was coated with lightning, illuminating the way for him as he blocked the attack of the man. The explosive force of the lightning pushed the man back a few steps.
"Get up and cover your sword with flames. That’s the only way that we will have enough light to fight this psycho," he said and charged at the man again.
A sadistic smile hung on the man’s face as he blocked all of Noel’s attacks with relative ease.
Riven covered his sword in flame like Noel said. He drew a deep breath and charged in again. The two of them began exchanging attacks with the man.
But even with the both of them attacking from two different angles, the man managed to block and resist them. Maybe it was due to the fact that he was definitely stronger, or due to the fact that there lacked proper teamwork.
Regardless, they kept attacking, refusing to give the man a moment of rest. They already knew that he had wind magic, and if they relented in their attacks for even a second, he would surely use some sort of spell.
But even then, all good plans could not last long enough. Riven attacked, but the man parried it. His sick smile widened. He used his legs and tripped Riven.
Riven fell down, and the plan shattered. The man immediately retreated with that opening and got ready to use an attack that would certainly be something to end them.
Riven got up on his feet and ran. He dragged his brother by the hand, pushing Noel behind him, and then turning, he used Flame Wall immediately, and the wall of fire rose up from the ground right before the man slashed, releasing a massive wind blade.
The wind blade hit the flame wall and utterly destroyed it, but it didn’t get through. Immediately the wall was down, Riven and Noel charged in, attacking the man more ferociously, they needed to take him down fast.
