An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 58: Getting the armor
Chapter 58: Getting the armor
After defeating Carion, the entire combat room went quiet. They didn’t expect this. If he was going to lose, he should have at least put up a better fight, at least.
This was entirely one-sided, he didn’t even stand a chance against Riven. If Carion had met with Rigeb right before he fought the golem, he would have been able to give Riven a hard time.
But after the golem, Riven’s strength didn’t just increase, but so did his battle sense and sword mastery. He was almost twice as strong now.
Riven walked to Carion. He looked down at him, then grabbed his neck, shaking him out of his stupor.
Carion looked up, his gaze fuzzy, but he could tell who was standing in front of him. And as his gaze cleared up and he laid eyes on the sinister smile that hung on Riven’s face, he understood that his entire life was officially over.
"You are my dog now," Riven said, looking right into his eyes to drive the point. He pulled Carion up and threw him so hard he slammed into the wall.
The scene shocked everyone, but they said nothing. After all, Carion now belonged to Riven. Riven walked out of the combat room, not paying any more attention to them. He left the guild with Noel following.
"You left him?" Noel asked.
"Yeah, it was pointless to come with him. There’s nothing for me to do with him. He can have his life, but I wanted that notion that he belonged to me to stay inside his head forever," Riven said casually.
"Somehow that feels like a worse fate, an unclaimed property that you can wake up any day and call upon," Noel said.
"Well, he could just run away and live in a small village or something. After all, I didn’t use any contract on him. Our words were vocally binding," Riven said.
After the guild, they headed back to Dark’s shop. Though he was yet to finish their armor, they waited for him to.
The sun slowly went down, and only its warm orange glow could be seen painting the sky. Finally, Dark was done. He walked out of the back, carrying in either hand two armors.
Each one giving off a distinct aura that had not been in them before. "I have done my best to modify these. They both have pseudo cores within them, and that means that they possess the power of increased defense when you infuse mana.
But you both have to be cautious, because overloading the pseudo core can cause a backlash."
He handed the armor to both of them, and then pulled out an envelope. He handed it to Riven. "Remember what I said. Deliver this to her, and your cost is covered."
Riven took the letter and placed it in his pouch. The both of them bowed to Dark in appreciation before taking the armors from him and storing them.
"This might be the last time we see each other in a while, Master Dark. And though I haven’t gotten to know you much, I’m indebted to you. Thank you," Riven said.
Dark nodded his head slowly. He didn’t say anything else and simply walked back into the forging room.
"You guys should make the entire academy know the name of Ribest," Lucas said. He waved them off as they left. Riven stepped outside. The quiet and peaceful evening embraced him. The cool wind blew over his face. He looked up at the sky.
’It had been a while since I came. A lot had happened, and now I’m finally on my way to the real beginning of my journey.’
"Hey, what are you doing over there? Let’s get going," Noel called out to Riven, snapping him out of his thoughts. Riven shook his head and ran to meet Noel.

The veil of night covered the whole town. The stars shined beautifully, sparkling like diamonds.
The warm look from torches and other sources of light enveloped the town, its warmth a contrast to the cold of night. But even in this light, the alleyways still rejected the light and basked in their own darkness.
Within this darkness, footsteps echoed, feet hitting against the puddles of water that gathered up.
A figure cloaked in black made his way out of the alley and made a quick turn into the inn right beside. He walked to the counter with no hesitation, where a young man stood.
"I’m looking for Master William Ruwen. He should be expecting me," the cloaked man spoke. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
The man behind the blue counter paused for a moment and then recalled that the said William had informed him a cloaked figure would come looking for him.
"Oh yes, head on up to room twenty on the second floor," the receptionist said. The cloaked man turned away without even a word. He went up the stairs all the way to the second floor and made his way to room twenty.
He knocked twice on the door and waited for a reply. The reply didn’t come for a few seconds, and the cloaked man was beginning to think that the person inside was asleep.
He raised his fist to knock again.
"Come in." The response finally came right before he knocked the door. He held the handle and opened the door, walking in and shutting it behind him.
The room was filled with the dim glow of a single lamp that was resting right next to the window. Its glow managed to outline the simple furniture that was inside the room, allowing anyone that was there to not bump into the room.
The windows were shut, stopping every light that could have come from there. And sitting on a wooden chair near the lamp was a figure, clad in fitting noble clothes, his eyes shut. His short white hair fell backward as he leaned back on his chair.
’Who the hell does this one think he is? Trying to look mysterious. Sigh, the things I do for money.’ The cloaked man thought to himself before walking up to the boy.
