Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 159: Advancing to Level One
Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Advancing to Level One
"Do you all hold the same opinion?" Qi Long asked as he looked at each of them as if to discern if there were any lies in their words.
"Yes, Captain." They replied in unison.
"Okay then. Let’s work harder so that we can do what we want in the future. In this world today where the slightest mistake or distraction could cost you your life, strength is the most important." Qi Long said this to them so that they wouldn’t think that leaving the military was the end of their efforts.
They had to understand that without strength, they won’t be different no matter where they went. He was grateful that they had witnessed Ye Xuan’s strength and at least, had a benchmark. Otherwise, they would all still be like frogs at the bottom of a well.
Now that they had discovered the secret of the crystal cores, he planned to leave his team to collect as many as possible and at the same time, cultivate using them to improve their strength before reaching the barracks.
He wanted to have insurance in case his superiors wanted to play tricks.he especially wanted Yi Wen to improve faster. As a speedster, he could run faster than anyone or anything he had ever seen, but he still couldn’t outrun a bullet.
He wanted him to break through so that the speed of bullets wouldn’t be a threat to him.
Yi Wen was his insurance. With him in the team, he could remove the others from a precarious situation if needed. He didn’t hope that his superiors would turn against his team, but he couldn’t take any risk.
He had no intention of losing another member of his team.
"Take the crystals that correspond with your superpower and start cultivating. We will rest here today then continue tomorrow." Qi Long instructed and took some transparent crystals which he shared with Yi Wen.
He had realized that the transparent crystals are attributeless. For superpower users who do not possess the regular elements such as fire, water, earth, wood, and metal, they could use the transparent crystals without problems.
Qi Long’s team had stayed in that hideout for over twenty hours cultivating until they had exhausted all the crystal cores they could use.
Fortunately, their hard work paid. They had all advanced to level one of superpower.
Superpowers, just like cultivation, start without a rank or level. It is through cultivating with the relevant resources that one could advance.
Since they gained superpowers, they didn’t know how to increase them. Their superpowers had only improved through battle and the progress was slow because they lacked resources.
Now that they had the crystal cores, advancement to the first level was not a problem. They had not been far after all.
After advancing, they could feel the new found power flowing through their bodies and couldn’t believe it was them.
Fu Nie being young was eager to find out how much he had improved. Unfortunately, he couldn’t just go around burning things.
Seeing how eager they were, Qi Long asked them to pack and continue their journey.
They moved towards Jianchen at a snail’s pace because they would kill all the zombies they encountered and when they were out of strength and on the verge of collapse, they would find a relatively safe place to cultivate and recover.
It was during this time that they found some citizens trapped in a building and surrounded by over five hundred zombies. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
Even though they had improved their strength, they weren’t conceited. They knew that they couldn’t kill all those zombies alone.
If they tried to be heroes, they would get surrounded and torn apart like some of their brothers. They still had that memory and wouldn’t joke with their lives.
Hence, Yi Wen got his chance to test his superpower ability after advancing. His brothers hid some distance away to make sure the zombies couldn’t hear them or smell them then he moved towards the location of the building surrounded.
Zombies have a higher need to devour superpower users compared to ordinary people. Therefore, as soon as they smelled the abundant vitality in Yi Wen they chased after him.
Some zombies also had superpowers but not very advanced. This team of soldiers had no idea that there were even level three zombies that could take all of them down within a second.
Lucky for them there wasn’t even a level one zombie among the horde surrounding that building. Just normal superpowers.
The team was traveling using two military trucks. Not the best quality but they could hold out more than normal vehicles. The reason they had two was because their team was big when they left the base and one truck wasn’t enough.
They could have left one behind because it would save fuel but thinking about their plans to leave the military, they would need a reliable vehicle for transport.
They didn’t plan on returning both trucks. They would hide one some distance from the base and retrieve it after they leave.
Both trucks were also filled with supplies as they had come across a small convenience store in a small town outside City A. They planned to leave most of the supplies in the truck they would use and only take a little with them into the base.
They would need those supplies after all.
Seeing Yi Wen draw most of the zombies away, the others waited for a while for the zombies to be beyond earshot distance before driving to the building.
They cleared the remaining zombies, collected the crystal cores and entered the building.
After searching, they found five survivors, all of them ordinary people except for one girl who had awakened water ability. Unfortunately, it was so weak that even producing one liter of water per day would drain her of strength. However, it was this little amount of water that their group depended on so that they didn’t die of thirst.
The others were a middle-aged couple, and two young men in their twenties. It turned out that they were a family and because of the persistent rain, their house, which was in a low altitude area, had flooded the third day.
