Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 86: Harbingers of Death
Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Harbingers of Death
Chu Miao and Ye Xuan didn’t react to those people’s antics, but her family was different.
They noticed the looks of fear in the eyes of those people when they looked at the two walking side-by-side at the front.
However, they didn’t ask anything and waited until they were in the car to ask for details.
Ye Xuan’s brothers were already waiting with two military Humvees parked next to them.
As soon as Li Kun saw them appear, he walked over to Chu Hao in an overly friendly manner and threw his arm over his shoulder.
"Come ride with me buddy and let’s talk about how to enhance our superpower." He said as he pulled Chu Hao towards one of the Humvees. Over the few times they had gone zombie hunting together, the members of both teams had become familiar with each other, and the two clowns of the teams had become fast-friends.
However, this time Li Kun had an ulterior motive. Chu Hao always rides in the same car as his sister when going out, but they wanted to create an opportunity for their boss to be alone with Chu Miao.
Hence, they came up with the strategy of abducting Chu Hao to their car and forcing Chu Miao to ride in their boss’s car.
The plan worked more smoothly than expected because by the time Chu Hao realized what was happening, he was already sitting inside the back seat of a humvee with three other men inside and the engine had started.
"Hey, I need to drive my sister. I can’t sit in your car." He protested when he saw his sister still standing there while his parents were already in their cars heading towards the community’s gate. His grandfather and butler had also gotten into another car.
"Don’t worry about Sister Miao. The boss will be happy to be her driver." Pei Ming replied as he stepped on the accelerator and the car led as well.
Meanwhile, at the back outside the front of their building, Ye Xuan and Chu Miao were the only ones left standing there looking at their surroundings.
To be fair, Ye Xuan had not been told about this plan by his brothers. They had planned to help him create opportunities to be with their future sister-in-law without his knowledge.
At that moment, he was both angry and happy about the arrangements. Angry because they didn’t tell him so that he could prepare, and happy because his brothers thought about helping him to secure his happiness.
Grandpa Chu then lowered the window of his car and called out to his granddaughter.
"Bunny, why don’t you ride in the car with Xiao Xuan? Your brother has already left and it’s dangerous for you to drive alone. The two of you can follow behind us. We know the way." Her grandfather said as he also rolled up the window and left.
"Looks like we have to share a ride again Chu Miao." Ye Xuan said with a straight face but he was bouncing for joy inside.
"Well, let’s go and catch up with them. It’s not the first time we are riding in the same car anyway." Chu Miao replied.
She understood what everyone was trying to do. It looked like everyone was shipping the two of them.
She was not exactly against the idea, but she needed to get used to having an unrelated male close to her.
Also, even though she had established that Ye Xuan was not greedy and wouldn’t covet her things, she knew nothing more than that.
So, it wouldn’t hurt to treat Ye Xuan as a friend first.
They both got into the car they used the previous night and left towards the city center.
Only after they had gone far did the people huddled in the corner of the building dare to move.
Those who didn’t witness the incident that morning were still skeptical. One of them asked, "Are you sure that delicate girl killed the Fang family’s son?"
Someone who also didn’t witness it added, "The girl looks so delicate and weak, how could she have killed someone in cold-blood? Are you sure you are not exergerrating?"
"You better believe it. Don’t be fooled by her small body and young age. She didn’t even blink when she split the young man in half. And the man who followed her in the car also stood by and watched, doing nothing to stop her." A man who had also been blocking the way with the dead young man that morning shuddered when he thought of that scene."
"They are all cold-blooded demons. Even the other men. They are clearly soldiers, but instead of protecting us as normal citizens, they help evil doers commit murder." Another woman also expressed her dissatisfaction.
"Right now, there are no soldiers or normal citizens. Everyone is just a survivor. Moreover, from what I know, that group of men had retired from the army long ago. So, you can’t use the standard of soldiers on them." Another man who was in the know-how contributed his two cents.
"But what they did was wrong. They didn’t even let the family bury their dead kin. They burnt his body without sympathy at all." An older man sighed.
He was already past fifty years old to him, family was important. He could not imagine losing the members of the younger generation and not even getting a chance to bury them.
"You should all just avoid them in the future. Don’t ruffle their feathers. From what I have noticed, they don’t bother anyone at all and mostly, keep to themselves." A young man who looked like a university student advised them.
He had seen what happened that morning. He disapproved of the people blocking the door and forcing those two to hand over the supplies they had painstakingly earned.
But he had not planned to get involved. It’s only after hearing these people discussing so heatedly that he decided to give them some advice.
Some people heard him and said they would not provoke those harbingers of death while others treated his words like air.
Some people still had hidden plans in their minds waiting for the right opportunity to execute.
