Vol 4 Chapter 60: Seizing the Gu

Granny Yinshan.

A rogue cultivator at the Peak Void Mystical Stage.

Also a renegade cultivator from the Dao-Seeking force, Water Moon Immortal Island.

She had been in closed-door cultivation for years in Qingzhou’s Tianyin Mountain, with a few female disciples serving her.

As the strongest rogue cultivator closest to Dao-Seeking, very few in Qingzhou dared provoke Granny Yinshan. However, she never imagined that without doing anything at all, a harbinger of doom would descend right upon her lair.

“One… two… three… four…”

“Four Dao-Seeking-level Demon Emperors’ auras…”

Within Tianyin Mountain, as Lin Jing arrived, the four ink beasts easily crushed the mountain’s protective barrier. The female disciples serving Granny Yinshan stared in horror at the massive beastly silhouettes looming in the sky, their expressions frozen in fear.

“May I ask which seniors are visiting!!?”

Granny Yinshan immediately emerged from seclusion. Though called “Granny,” she retained the appearance of a beautiful woman in her early thirties—whatever appearance-preserving method she used, Lin Jing could tell it wasn’t illusion, but her actual skin.

“Granny Yinshan, that’s you.”

Standing atop the ink tortoise, flanked by the other three ink beasts, Lin Jing’s arrival made Granny Yinshan’s pupils contract instantly.

The Holy Son of the Demon Court…?

She never would have guessed it was the Holy Son of the Demon Court descending upon her lair with four Dao-Seeking-level beasts!

What the hell… since when did the Demon Court have these four monsters…

Wait a second—when did she have any beef with this Demon Court Holy Son?

“So it’s the Demon Court Holy Son. I wonder what business Your Highness has at my Tianyin Mountain…” Granny Yinshan greeted politely.

Lin Jing smiled lightly: “Granny, this Holy Son has been collecting the Ten Rare Gu. I was on my way to destroy the Gu God Sect for a good harvest, but suddenly remembered that you have a Yin Gu in your hands. So I figured I’d stop by first to make a deal before heading to the Cloud Sea.”

“Would you be willing to part with it…?”

Granny Yinshan’s mouth twitched. Does this look like a normal deal to you?

You’re off to destroy the Gu God Sect? You even talk about wiping out a Dao-Seeking demonic sect—me, a Void Mystical rogue cultivator, how can I possibly resist the Demon Court’s grip?

“The Yin Spirit Gu… I can give it to Your Highness, but on one condition. If you agree, I’ll hand it over willingly.”

Granny Yinshan took a deep breath, forced to accept the situation.

“Please, state your condition.”

“Your Highness likely knows that I’m a renegade from Water Moon Immortal Island. But do you know why I left?”

Lin Jing shook his head.

“Water Moon Immortal Island has always accepted only female disciples and remains isolated from the world. No men are allowed on the island. I was deeply enamored with the current Island Master, so I changed my gender and infiltrated the island in hopes of getting close to her. But in the end… I was exposed.”

Lin Jing: “So that’s… wait, huh??”

“He’s a guy?” The Yin Spirit Gu froze up and said, “Wait a sec, wasn’t he the lowest-talent disciple in Water Moon Immortal Island in the past ten thousand years?”

“If I hadn’t damaged my foundation by changing gender, maybe I would’ve reached Dao-Seeking by now,” Granny Yinshan said.

Lin Jing didn’t know what to say to that, but he was in a hurry and didn’t want to get involved in personal drama: “Alright, I’m not interested in your backstory. Just tell me your condition.”

“The current Senior Sister of Water Moon Immortal Island—the Island Master’s personal disciple—is ranked in the top ten of the Fortune Gold List. If nothing goes wrong, she should be able to enter the Origin Realm. Your Highness will also enter the Origin Realm, yes? I hope to trade the Yin Spirit Gu for one promise: protect her life in the Origin Realm.”

“That girl… she’s quite good, just a bit careless,” Granny Yinshan added.

Lin Jing fell silent. Though she called herself a renegade, it seemed Granny Yinshan still had complicated ties to Water Moon Immortal Island.

Which made sense. She was still an extremely powerful cultivator. Even if the island couldn’t officially take her in due to ancestral rules, they didn’t have to sever ties completely.

Wait… could that current Senior Sister be the lovechild of her and the Island Master…?

“Fine. If we both enter the Origin Realm, I’ll keep her safe inside,” Lin Jing agreed.

Now that he had the Heavenly Demon Physique, Lin Jing was confident facing any geniuses from other realms.

............

With a promise exchanged for the Yin Spirit Gu, Lin Jing left Tianyin Mountain. Once he extracted the Yin Gu’s origin, Granny Yinshan’s body aged significantly, and her cultivation level dropped a tier. It was clear she had been deeply bonded to the Gu.

Lin Jing didn’t get it because of the promise—he got it because he displayed power that made Granny Yinshan wary.

Having secured the Yin Gu, Lin Jing had no time to examine it. He rushed straight toward the Cloud Sea Mountains.

Coincidentally, as Lin Jing’s group left Martial Emperor City, the two Void Mystical cultivators of the Gu God Sect still hadn’t given up. They were still coveting the Rare Gu on Lin Jing.

However, as Lin Jing flew west from the Ancient Kingdom on the Celestial Sword, the two Gu God Sect cultivators were scared out of their wits and dove straight into the Cloud Sea Mountains, racing toward the Gu God Sect headquarters.

This gave Lin Jing the perfect chance to capture them all in one go.

“Go.”

“Excuse me, seniors—where are you headed?”

On the outskirts of the Cloud Sea Mountains, Lin Jing’s Divine Sense detected their movements and intercepted them directly.

He smiled at the Sect Leader and Elder Wind Gu of the Gu God Sect—his smile dazzling.

“Demon Court Holy Son.” The moment they saw Lin Jing, the two Void Mystical Gu cultivators didn’t look too happy.

And when they saw Lin Jing had swapped the Celestial Sword for four Dao-Seeking ink beasts… their scalps tingled.

“No need for nonsense. Be smart—hand over the Wind Gu and Yang Gu origins.”

“Holy Son of the Demon Court, don’t push us too far.”

“Our Gu God Sect has two Dao-Seeking Ancestors!!!”

The Sect Leader growled, threatening Lin Jing: “One of our ancestors is currently in closed-door cultivation within the Gu God Secret Realm… you better—”

Before he could finish, Lin Jing waved his hand. The Azure Dragon ink beast gathered a ball of black light in its mouth and blasted it in one direction. “Boom”—the sky shattered. A secret realm hidden in the Cloud Sea Mountains shook violently, with countless space fragments pouring into the void.

“Your Gu God Sect—the Gu God might be Dao-Seeking, but the Gu Insect Clan can’t fully exert their power alone. The former Sect Leader may have been Dao-Seeking, but he was nothing more than a vessel forcibly elevated by the Gu God to channel power. Together, they can unleash full Dao-Seeking might. So don’t try to fool this Holy Son like a child.”

“That strike should be enough to wake your Gu God up.”

The Sect Leader and Elder Wind Gu’s pupils shrank. Was this lunatic seriously going to start a full war with the Gu God Sect…?

They hadn’t even fully processed it when two ink beasts slapped them into a bloody mist—instant death. The Rare Gu that had been residing in their bodies emerged in various forms, staring in terror at the monstrous group that was Lin Jing’s entourage...

Meanwhile, outside the world,

Seeing that Lin Jing was really planning to crush the Gu God Sect, several Dao-Seeking experts sighed in awe—this was their first time seeing such a fierce prodigy.

“Come on, come on! He’s starting a war—who’s coming with me?” The Demon Emperor was excited, no longer avoiding conflict after her transformation;she was now addicted to combat.

“That Gu God guy… you can’t kill him so easily…” said a Dao-Seeker from the Witch God Hall.

The Witch God Hall, located in the Cloud Sea Mountains, was a Dao-Seeking faction formed by several cultivator tribes. They’d long dealt with the Gu God Sect and understood them well. Like the Corpse Emperor and Bone Emperor, the Gu God couldn’t be fully killed through brute force alone.

“Even if we can’t kill him, we can at least severely injure him like the Corpse Emperor—make sure he can’t cause trouble for a thousand years!” Just as the Demon Emperor grew eager for battle, a voice suddenly reached her ears.

“Lord of the Demon Court, let’s make a deal. Don’t let your Holy Son take the top two spots on the Fortune Gold List. My royal heir is cultivating a secret art that requires immense fortune. In exchange, I can compensate you and that Longevity Physique in other ways.”

The Demon Emperor paused and looked toward the Second Ancient Emperor in the distance with her big round eyes. Ha! That guy finally spoke up too!

“What kind of secret art is so hard to cultivate? Tell me—I’m curious,” she licked her lips.
