Chapter 164: Chapter 163 My Partner
[Xiaomei—Xiaomei—]
[Host…] Xiaomei’s soft voice rang out.
Sally was ecstatic, [Xiaomei, you’re finally awake. I’ve been calling you for two days.]
After a long while, Xiaomei’s voice came again, [Host… who is that?]
[What’s wrong with you?!] Sally exclaimed in shock.
Xiaomei fell silent again.
Seeing Sally standing still, Frans asked, “What’s the matter?”
Sally pursed her lips before saying, “Nothing, I just felt like sneezing just now. But considering I’m pregnant, I held it back.”
“It should be fine, right? Don’t you have the Offspring System?” Frans took her hand.
Sally instinctively wanted to pull away, but she restrained herself, “I don’t know why, but the System has been unresponsive lately, like something is wrong. This time I got pregnant from the Pregnancy Elixir, and the System is supposed to protect the fetus. If it’s malfunctioning, the child might…”
“No!” Frans panicked, “How can there be something wrong with the System?”
“I’m puzzled too. Everything was fine before entering the Holy Palace. It only started after that.”

“After entering the Holy Palace…” Frans suddenly thought of something and his complexion changed drastically, “Could it be… de-magnetization? They’ve got some nerve!”
Upon hearing the words ‘de-magnetization’, Sally felt a jolt in her heart, and realized that must be the problem!
“If my Offspring System is malfunctioning, the child will definitely be affected, and might even be… gone!”
Sally could tell that he, like other males, placed great value on his offspring.
Even if he had any intentions towards Xiaomei, he would never act on them during her pregnancy. He would prefer Xiaomei to offer the best service possible for his offspring.
Frans said, “I’ll take you to a friend’s place first, then I have some things to take care of. Later, I’ll accompany you to enjoy the night view of the Holy City.”
“Okay.” Sally nodded.
…
Little Tanuki’s Private Kitchen.
Looking at the name, Sally joked, “The owner better not be a raccoon.”
Frans replied, “He’s not. He’s from the Angel Clan. But his partner was from the Racoon Clan, and they both passed away during a difficult childbirth. Now he quietly runs this private kitchen, living day by day.”
“Sorry,” Sally responded.
“It’s okay. It’s good that you know. He’s pretty much moved on now.” Frans opened the door and let Sally in first.
A waft of delicious food smell hit them.
“Your recommendation is spot on,” Sally said to Frans. “I think your children will love this place.”
Frans smiled, “That’s good to hear.”
The restaurant had two floors. The upper floor had private rooms, while the lower one had the main hall.
But at the staircase leading to the upper floor, there was a sign—Second floor under renovation, temporarily closed for use.
The main hall had about a dozen tables. Since it wasn’t mealtime, there were no customers yet.
Behind the counter stood a young man, tall and slim, wearing a vest and suit, with unruly black hair tied back in a small ponytail, his short beard adding a touch of worldliness, and a pair of ochre eyes that were refined and deep.
“Welcome.”
At the sight of Sally, the man was a bit surprised, and then he saw Frans and greeted with a familiar smile, “Long time no see.”
Frans, holding Sally by her side, sat down on a high stool at the counter, “My partner, Sally Millet.”
“Partner?” The man looked at Sally again, this time with more solemnity.
Obviously, those two words carried a different weight than Holy Mother.
Frans continued, “Just call her Sister Sally, everyone does.”
Then he turned to Sally, “Ethan Albert, a good friend I grew up with.”
“Pleased to meet you, Ethan.” Sally extended her hand.
“Sister Sally,” Ethan shook her hand, but let go quickly. “I’ve seen you on the screen, fighting against the Abyssal Beasts. Quite impressive. This place was packed every day back then, people would dine and watch the Holy War at the same time.”
Sally chuckled and said, “Thank you.”
Regarding the Holy War, except for the time she spent with Zi Qi, she really didn’t want to remember the rest… especially when she was alone.
Frans actually didn’t want to mention that period either, because Sally was seeking revenge and commemorating Zi Qi then.
She even killed Shi Feifei…
Wait, Shi Feifei?
Realization dawned on Frans, and he said to Ethan, “I need to leave for a bit, Ethan. You cook something yourself, make a few of your specialties for Yanyan.”
Ethan nodded, “Go ahead.”
Sally suddenly grabbed Frans’s hand and kissed it on the back, “Come back soon.”
Frans, seeing Sally taking the initiative to be close to him, wouldn’t miss the chance, and gave her a deep kiss!
He didn’t care whether anyone around was watching or not…
Ethan whistled.
Desire was unmistakable in Frans’s eyes, and his voice was much huskier, “Wait for me.”
Sally nodded, “Go ahead.”
After Frans left, Ethan turned to Sally and said, “He really values you, don’t let him down.”
“Maybe,” Sally raised an eyebrow noncommittally, “after all, I’ve just started eating meat.”
Ethan was momentarily taken aback, then laughed, “He really did it, he’d rather go without than settle for less.”
“Really?” Sally said, “Get me a glass of iced milk.”
Ethan poured her a warm one instead, “You should eat less cold food while pregnant.”
Sally said, “I didn’t realize that you were such a warm gentleman.”
“What?”
“Nothing, thank you.” Sally sipped her milk, looking around the restaurant, “How many years has it been open?”
“Fifty-six years. I started this private kitchen after Little Tanuki left; it was one of her dreams.”
“That’s nice.” Sally heard the door opening behind her and looked back.
Seeing the newcomer made her smile, “Lena, what brings you here?”
“To eat, of course.” Lena quickly walked to the counter and sat down beside Sally.
And said to Ethan, “The same as yesterday, a large serving of grilled meat over rice.”
“Sure. And for you, Sister Sally?” Ethan asked Sally.
Sally replied, “Same for me, and add a few dishes you think are the tastiest.”
“Right away.” Ethan poured Lena a glass of water and then went to the kitchen to cook.
“How come you could leave the palace?” Lena asked.
Sally patted her belly, “Said the baby wanted to go out and play.”
“Haha, he values the child quite a bit,” Lena took a sip of water, “Aren’t you worried you might give birth to a litter of rats for him, considering how hard it is for the Angel Clan to conceive?”
“If it was a one-month pregnancy, it might have been the Rat Clan, but it’s been more than a month, so it can only be the Angel Clan now.” Sally finished her milk in one go and poured herself another glass.
At that moment, Ethan came over with a large fruit platter, “For the two ladies.”
“How nice, thank you, boss.” Lena’s eyes shone when she looked at Ethan.
Sally whispered, “You don’t have a crush on him, do you?”
“I’m interested, but I don’t know yet what Beast Clan he belongs to.”
“He’s from the Angel Clan, widowed for fifty-six years.”
“How do you know that?”
“He’s Frans’s childhood friend. You can try, it’s not impossible.”
