Chapter 2668 - Raining Corpses

1.3 billion people combined made for quite a sight. Now that they had decided to no longer remain apathetic in this fight, they would struggle until they could no longer stand!

"It’ll only have been meaningful once the second patriarch manages to leave!"

Lin Xiao wasn't the only one fighting; the entire clan was. Neither side had astralguard formations backing them up in this true melee. From a distance, one could only see insignificant flashes of light. Only up close could one witness the true bloodbath and the heroic expressions on the faces of the Lin Clan's warriors.

"Die!"

Blood and chunks of flesh peppered the skies. The members of the Lin Clan clashed with the enemy astral gods and their beasts, lifebound or otherwise, while the actual elite astral gods of the Lin Clan slaughtered away. The half a million astral gods from the Second Exterminatus Army soon lost their vision after the billion-plus people clashed with them. They were isolated in a small space filled with foes. It was as if they had fallen into a quagmire!

Some astral gods managed to fell quite a lot of Lin Clansmen, but they wouldn't make it far for long. The ones that killed the most drew the most attention from the actual elites that would soon cull them.

What hit the enemy the hardest, however, was having their divine astralships breached. One top elite after another of the clan blended in with the ships and others as they struck the Second Exterminatus Army's ships.

What nobody had expected was that Lin Chongjing would be the first to breach an enemy ship! Not even Lin Chongyao knew that Lin Chongjing had joined the battle in the chaotic clash even when there was nobody to watch him. Lin Chongyao felt that if his brother really did choose to flip sides to join the ebons again, he really wouldn't be able to do anything about it. He had made his bet, and Lin Chongjing hadn't disappointed. He used his ether-class cosmic artifact and invaded a sanctuary-class ship of the ebons and killed its captain, reducing the ship to a hunk of useless metal. Lin Chongjing immediately went off in search of a new target.

"Son of Ku!" many people said when they saw his figure from behind. His shoulders slightly slackened. While tears were flowing nonstop, he was actually smiling. He wiped them off and roared before charging back into battle.

"Lin Chongjing, good on you for coming back to us!"

"Since you’re fighting for our clan, we can forgive you!"

"There's only one dog in this world that doesn't deserve forgiveness, and that's Lin Jie!"

Cheers resounded all over as the slaughter resumed. Bodies, flesh, and blood were everywhere the eye could see. Lin Changkong kept an eye on the wider battle, focusing on the movements of the enemy elites and their ships. He knew that the enemy would also eventually target the clan's own ships.

The battle went on with full tension, but things were still as under control as they had hoped at the start. With all those swordpupils supporting them, coupled with their morale, momentum, and sword-ships, the half million enemy astral gods soon dwindled until there was little more than three hundred thousand of them, many of whom were being pursued as they tried to flee! The enemy's front completely collapsed. They lost more than fifty of their sanctuary-class ships and three ether-class ships within a short time as well, while the Lin Clan didn't lose a single one. The reason for that was that the enemy elites were worried about being attacked from all sides, so none of them dared to leave their own ships and charge into the fray like Lin Chongjing and the rest.

"They're afraid of dying! That means they know that they'll fail for sure!" If the enemy commander himself didn't dare to give a good fight, there was no way the clan would lose. It was only a matter of time; the only variable that still hung in the air was the elites on both sides.

Lin Xiao and the elites of the second branch were facing the ancestral world creature. They had suffered quite a few losses there so far. Additionally, there were still Shenxi Tianxi, Lin Jie, and Sheng Kailin to consider.

"With the odds so stacked against you, will any of you actually come out and mount a desperate resistance to the death?" That was the crucial question. The Lin Clan had managed to gain control of the pace of battle in a short time, crippling the Second Exterminatus Army. As they weren't a united army to begin with, quite a few non-ebon ships had evacuated their astral gods and left. Cries of astral gods being slaughtered could be heard all throughout as the enemy forces degenerated even further.

Lin Changkong knew that Lin Xiao and the rest were facing a terrifying foe, so he sent them three thousand cosmic cartographers as support.

"You guys are all that's left." Ahead of Lin Changkong were the ether-class ships of the enemy, namely the ebons, sanctlighters, Eastpole Skyshaker Family, Fiend Qiangnan Clan, and so on, as well as the Judgment. Lin Changkong glared at that ship in particular. fre(e)novelkiss.com

Lin Jie, as you see this sight unfold before you... as you witness our desperate dedication to pave a way toward the Sun, coupled with your master's defeat there... tell me what in the world are you thinking right now. Will you turn back, like Lin Chongjing did, or continue on your path to ruin? If it's the latter, it's over for you! Right as that thought occurred to him, Lin Jie gave him an answer. The Judgment locked on to Lin Changkong and rammed toward his ship, killing many normal gods of the clan in the process.

"Alright!" Lin Changkong's eyes were bloodshot. "Today, the members of the Lin Clan shall be cleansed in holy battle, while you, Lin Jie, shall ever remain a filthy stain."
