Chapter 54 - 049: Look Everywhere, So Handsome! (First Update)
"I don't want to anymore!" Yi Luowa hid under the blanket, refusing to come out.
"As your master, I order you—get up immediately!" Tong Airui curled his lips into a smile, "Report to my room in ten minutes."
Yi Luowa pouted but waited until Tong Airui left before crawling out of the blanket.
After washing up, changing, and helping her family, she had only two minutes left when she grabbed her backpack, sat in her wheelchair, and rushed into the hospital room next door.
Tong Airui glanced at the watch on his wrist, "Late by thirty-nine seconds!"
Yi Luowa looked at him, nervously swallowing her saliva, forgetting to even offer an excuse.
"Eat!" Tong Airui, clothed in military attire, seemed like a completely different person; even his tone carried an unquestionable authority.
Yi Luowa wheeled over to the table and noticed there were only two sets of bowls and chopsticks. She raised her eyes to look at him, "What about my sister and the others?"
"It's already so late—they left for the airport a long time ago." Tong Airui took off his beret, ran a hand through his hair, and sat down.
Handsome!
Yi Luowa couldn't help but swoon for a moment. For the first time, she realized that the slightly tousled military crew cut could be so strikingly attractive!
"Just staring at me—does that fill you up?" Tong Airui said, amused, as he looked at her.
Yi Luowa quickly picked up her chopsticks, mortified to find her hands trembling slightly as she did so.
"Um... um..."
Tong Airui raised his eyebrows just slightly, "Your second uncle already had breakfast."
"Oh... How did you know what I was about to ask?" Yi Luowa asked, her gaze fixed on the brass buttons on his uniform.
Tong Airui let out a cold hum, "Who else would occupy your thoughts besides your second uncle?"
"I care about you too! Does it still hurt? No, no—what I mean is, does your rib still hurt?" Yi Luowa awkwardly scratched her head.
"It hurts!" Tong Airui answered with a forlorn expression, lifting a glass of milk.
"Can you even go outside like this?" Yi Luowa stole another glance at him. What's wrong with her? He seemed wonderful in every way—what can she do? Why does she suddenly want to care about him? What can she do?
"Didn't I go out yesterday?" Tong Airui slightly tilted his chin upwards, "Hurry and eat; we're heading out in ten minutes." frёewebηovel.cѳm
Yi Luowa puffed out her cheeks, grabbed the milk, gulped it down, then picked up a hamburger and devoured it quickly. She pulled a napkin to wipe her mouth and declared, "I'm done."
Tong Airui smiled faintly, "Not bad, good speed!"
"How many minutes are left? Can I go check on my second uncle?" Yi Luowa asked sweetly, negotiating with Tong Airui.
Tong Airui checked the time, "Five minutes."
Yi Luowa didn't dare waste a single moment. She maneuvered her wheelchair out the door immediately.
"Yuan Hang, push her over there," Tong Airui called out from inside.
Yuan Hang responded, quickly pushing Yi Luowa's wheelchair toward the ICU.
As soon as Yi Luowa entered the room, she spotted Aunt Li and exclaimed joyfully, "Aunt Li! Why are you here?"
"If I weren't here, how could the few men in your family manage?" Aunt Li responded with a loving smile. "Let me take a look at your injury—I came to your ward this morning, but you were sleeping like a little pig!"
"I'm fine now. Probably by tomorrow or the day after, they can remove the stitches." Yi Luowa pulled up her pant leg, "Still wrapped up, nothing for you to see."
Aunt Li looked at her leg with deep concern and then lifted her bangs to check the wound on her forehead. "Such misfortune! A perfectly good child almost ruined for us."
Yi Luowa said cheerfully, "No big deal~ If it scars, I'll get a tattoo to make it look even better. Aunt Li, I have to go out today. I'll chat with you when I'm back later. Let me check on my second uncle first."
"Go ahead. Your second uncle was talking about you this morning," Aunt Li said, pushing her over to the bed.
Yi Luowa tilted her head, looked at Yi Weiyang, and said, "Second Uncle, I'll be heading out soon."
"I heard," Yi Weiyang replied half-heartedly, giving her a brief glance.
"What's with that attitude?!" Yi Luowa pouted in dissatisfaction.
Yi Weiyang snorted, "It's your punishment for saying the wrong thing yesterday! Have you thought it through?"
"Humph! With that attitude, I don't want to think about it anymore!" Yi Luowa retorted with a scoff.
"You little brat! When you head out with Mr. Tong, be obedient. Don't act like you do with me—always talking back!" Yi Weiyang reached out and touched her hand. "Now that Aunt Li is here, you don't need to worry about me anymore. Go ahead."
Yi Luowa glanced at the door, noticing Yuan Hang hadn't called to rush her yet. She asked, "There's still some time, Second Uncle. How are you feeling today?"
"Pretty good. When Dr. McMike checked on me today, he mentioned I might be able to transfer to your ward in a day or two." Yi Weiyang let out a long sigh, "I have such good luck; being plotted against not once, but twice, and still survived. I even encountered such an excellent doctor. Without Dr. McMike, I might've ended up in a vegetative state."
"We'll thank him properly later." Yi Luowa smiled, pressing her lips together.
Yi Weiyang nodded, "Yes, we must thank their whole family properly. Otherwise, this little girl of ours almost ended up abandoned, with no one to care for her. Just the thought is terrifying."
"Little girl, our Fourth Master is ready to leave," Yuan Hang called out, popping his head into the room.
Yi Weiyang released Yi Luowa's hand, "Go now. Let Hei Zi accompany you; tell Ao Lie to rest more these next few days."
"Alright, I'm leaving. Goodbye, Second Uncle. Goodbye, Aunt Li."
"I'll send you out." Aunt Li pushed Yi Luowa out of the room and summoned Hei Zi.
Hei Zi quickly took over the wheelchair from Aunt Li.
The group headed to the parking lot, where Yuan Hang soon drove a camper up to meet them.
Hei Zi had just gotten the wheelchair onto the vehicle when Yuan Hang summoned him to the driver's seat.
The car sped steadily down the road as Yi Luowa sat in the back, occasionally sneaking glances at Tong Airui's uniform. His military attire was unlike any she had seen before, as the insignia on his epaulette lacked any rank but bore a unique emblem instead.
Tong Airui noticed all her sneaky movements, leaning against the headboard with closed eyes. If she wanted to look, he'd let her look to her heart's content.
Finally, Yi Luowa felt free to give Tong Airui an unreserved, scrutinizing gaze from every angle. She was utterly stunned to spot the beast—or rather, this handsome man! This handsome man's legs—when did they get so long?!
