[BL] Dear Hushand, I want divorce-Chapter 110: He’s behaving strange
Chapter 110: He’s behaving strange
Ash tried to convince himself that everything was fine, that the small distance between them wasn’t anything to worry about. But his heart wasn’t having it.
Something was off, and Ash couldn’t ignore it anymore.
For the past few days, Elijah had been different—not in how he acted around Ash, but in how he avoided getting too close, too intimate. It started subtly, with Elijah pulling away right before things could go further.
The first time, Ash had shrugged it off. Maybe Elijah was tired, or maybe his mind was elsewhere. But now, the rejections have become frequent, each one leaving a deeper mark than the last.
Ash tried not to let it bother him. After all, Elijah had spent years chasing him, searching for him, and when they finally found each other again, their connection felt as strong as ever.
Elijah had been sincere when he said he loved Ash—Ash had seen it in his eyes, felt it in his touch. He couldn’t doubt that. But still, the constant rejection made him feel...off.
It wasn’t like Ash was desperate for sex or that their happiness hinged on it. They had everything they needed—they were happy, together, and had finally overcome the darkness of their past. That should have been enough.
Right?
No.
It wasn’t enough.
Elijah’s pullbacks weren’t just physical, they were impacting Ash emotionally. Every time he stopped them from going further, it left Ash feeling less desired. And it hurt more than Ash wanted to admit.
It wasn’t like before, when Elijah couldn’t keep his hands off him, always finding excuses to get Ash alone, always obsessed with having him beneath him, as if he couldn’t get enough.
Now, Elijah seemed content with just stolen kisses and lingering touches, but the passion that once burned between them felt like it was dimming. Ash kept telling himself it was all in his head, that maybe Elijah was just stressed. But his insecurities crept in like shadows in the night.
Ash couldn’t help but think about how much he had changed. He had lost weight since working in the fields, and his body no longer had the fullness it once did. His hands were rougher, his skin more weathered. Maybe Elijah noticed it all. Maybe that was why he kept turning him down.
Am I not attractive anymore? The thought gnawed at him. Has Elijah lost interest in me physically?
Elijah used to be obsessed with Ash’s body. He remembered the way Elijah would trace every inch of his skin, memorising it, as if he couldn’t get enough of him. Elijah still said he loved him, still kissed him every chance he got, but when it came time to take things further, Elijah always had an excuse.
Ash’s mind wandered to their past—those moments when Elijah had craved him like a man starved, when their connection felt electric, when their passion seemed endless.
Now, despite everything being resolved between them, despite knowing that Elijah loved him deeply, Ash couldn’t shake the feeling that something had shifted. Does love not come with desire anymore? Ash asked himself. Does Elijah not want me like he used to?
He wasn’t unhappy—how could he be when they had fought so hard to get here? But with every rejection, Ash felt more and more insecure, as if Elijah had lost interest in his body or something had changed between them.
Ash didn’t want to admit how much it bothered him, and didn’t want to confront the possibility that maybe Elijah wasn’t as attracted to him anymore. But the feeling was there, gnawing away at his confidence, leaving him wondering whether something about him had become less desirable.
And that was the hardest part.
Ash adjusted the basket of strawberries in front of him, glancing over at Kian, who was busily arranging the fruit with his usual giant hands. He bit his lip, his thoughts on Elijah, but he didn’t want to make it obvious that it was his own relationship he was struggling with.
Kian might not know much about relationships, but maybe talking it out, even in a roundabout way, could help.
"Hey, Kian," Ash began, trying to keep his tone light, "soI have this friend. He’s in a relationship, and he’s kind of going through something weird."
Kian looked up, his brow furrowing as he tried to focus on Ash’s words. "Weird? Like...he’s sick?"
"No, no," Ash quickly corrected. "Not like that. It’s more...relationship stuff. You see, his partner loves him—says it all the time. But lately, they’ve been avoiding...you know, getting too close. Physically."
Kian nodded slowly, though the look of confusion was still etched into his face. "Physically? Like...they’re not helping with work?"
Ash suppressed a laugh, knowing Kian wasn’t quite getting it. "Not work, Kian. I mean...like, when they want to be close you know. Intimately."
Kian’s expression went completely blank for a moment, and then he nodded, though Ash could tell the giant wasn’t entirely following. "Oh...like mating?"
"Yeah, like that," Ash said, nodding as he tried to explain. "But the thing is, my friend is starting to feel insecure. Like maybe his partner doesn’t find him attractive anymore, and it’s making him worry."
Kian scratched his head, clearly thinking hard. "Hmm...well, maybe his partner is just tired? Or maybe they’re not hungry?"
Ash blinked. "Hungry?" Where did this come from?
"Yeah," Kian said earnestly. "Sometimes, after a long day, I don’t feel like eating, even if there’s food. Maybe his partner’s body just doesn’t want to mate right now."
Ash smiled at the simplicity of Kian’s logic. "It’s not quite like that, Kian. My friend’s worried that it’s more than just being tired, like maybe his partner isn’t attracted to him anymore. It’s kind of messing with his head."
Kian stared down at Ash, thinking it over. "But his partner says they love him, right?"
Ash nodded. "Yeah, they do."
"Then it’s probably fine," Kian said, shrugging as if that settled everything. "If they love him, that’s what matters. Bodies do weird stuff sometimes. Maybe they just need a break."
Ash sighed quietly. Kian meant well, but his lack of experience in relationships made his advice a bit too simple. Still, it was nice to talk to someone, even if it didn’t solve anything.
"Yeah...maybe you’re right," Ash said, forcing a small smile. "Thanks, Kian."
Kian patted Ash on the shoulder—more like a friendly thump given his size—and grinned. "No problem! Tell your friend not to worry so much. If they’re still in love, everything will be okay."
Ash smiled, though deep down, the conversation hadn’t eased his worries. He appreciated Kian’s support, but the ache in his chest remained.
For now, though, he would focus on selling strawberries and push his doubts aside, at least until he could figure out how to approach Elijah about it.
