Chapter 288: Chapter 150: Spatial Elemental Spirit, Dawn Magic Tools

Ronan continued to inspect along the circular experimental table.

Suddenly, his gaze was drawn to a recess that stood out starkly from the surrounding experimental tables in both color and material.

He walked over slowly, the sharp and putrid scent becoming increasingly pungent at the tip of his nose.

In truth, the smell wasn’t that pronounced. Because of Body Forging, Ronan’s sense of smell far surpassed that of an average Second-level Wizard; he had detected the scent upon first reaching the second floor, emanating precisely from here.

The rough black recess was very conspicuous and abrupt set against the pure, delicate white of the experimental table.

There was a residue of dark green viscous liquid in the black sink, lightly covering a corner.

From the large patches of green marks on the inner wall of the sink, it could be inferred that this unknown liquid originally filled the entire sink, only to slowly drain away over time, leaving only this remnant.

"Is this a waste disposal sink for handling experimental waste?"

Ronan speculated as he looked at the sink in front of him.

He had seen similar structures beside Benny’s Magic Potion and alchemy experimental tables; the waste disposal sinks usually contained specially formulated, highly corrosive energy potions that could dissolve the vast majority of experimental waste.

After a moment of hesitation, Ronan reached out, shooting several metal wires refined from Magic Nightmare Tungsten Steel from his fingertips and carefully stirred them into the dark green liquid in the sink.

The metal wire and the dark green liquid hissed upon contact, and faint wisps of green smoke arose.

Ronan furrowed his brow, sensing the rapid consumption of the Magic Nightmare Tungsten Steel. In such a short period, the amount depleted was almost comparable to using the metal in a fierce battle with someone armed with Metal Magic spells.

Keep in mind, this was after the Magic Nightmare Tungsten Steel had been enhanced by Silverization, and the corrosiveness of the liquid in the waste sink before him was much stronger than he had imagined.

This was likely a presence of at least the Third Rank.

Just as Ronan was about to retract the metal wires...

"Crack—"

Something seemed to be disturbed by the metal wires beneath the dark green liquid.

Ronan’s expression changed, and he quickly manipulated the metal wires to "capture" and lift up the object they had found.

Originally, he just wanted to try his luck, pondering whether the waste sink of the Ancient Mirror Garden Wizard might contain something of value for research, or something that could be a token of this exploration mission to present to Benny...

Unexpectedly, he really did fish something out.

——

The item retrieved from the waste sink was an irregularly shaped black metal ring, pitted and almost broken, with a small, sharp protrusion on one end of the ring. It was surmised that the item’s original shape was not like this, and that there had been other components beyond the ring, which had been corroded away.

Ronan drained the dark green potion off the metal ring and gingerly held it in his hand.

Yet, to his surprise, as soon as he touched it, the black ring crumbled like a cookie, and then swiftly disintegrated into dust...

Before Ronan could react, he felt a burning sting in his palm.

He instinctively shook off the broken fragments in his hand and looked down, only to see a strange mark had appeared in the palm of his right hand.

It looked as though an arrow had been affixed to the ring.

With just one glance, Ronan recognized that this pattern was the original shape of the shattered metal ring.

Ronan rubbed the skin in his palm; smooth and intact without any wound, not even the palm lines were damaged.

The arrow-shaped strange pattern seemed to be branded underneath his skin, into his flesh. After several breaths, it began to slowly fade away, leaving only a faint trace.

"What exactly is this? Some kind of rune?"

Ronan’s brow furrowed as he sensed the mark remained inside his body, yet no matter what he did, he could not remove it.

In his mind, he recalled the few words he had just read on the shattered stone slab – Forbidden, experiment, Car...nos...

"Could it be related to that failed Forbidden Experiment mentioned on the slab, which had to be terminated?"

Before leaving, the house’s owner had hastily destroyed all records of the experiment, including this arrow-shaped item.

He, or she, had thrown it into the waste sink, never imagining that after so long, it had yet to be completely dissolved...

As Ronan pondered the mysterious experiment and the mark, a commotion suddenly arose from the Communication Stone within his Space Ring.

He took out the Communication Stone, unexpectedly discovering a message from Deby, the Wizard among the Seventh Magic Rings besides himself and Clements.

"I’ve encountered the person from Black Nightmare Swamp... I am not their match... The Task Ring has been taken, I might have to withdraw from this exploration earlier..."

"Clements, Damien... be careful, the two of you... Good luck."

Wizard Deby’s voice sounded weak, as though he had sustained a serious injury.

Ronan’s face tensed as he listened to the message.

So soon, Wizard Deby from the Seventh Magic Rings had been "looted and eliminated"?

Deby’s Strength was not weak, bordering on the Late Stage of Level 2, also a Genius who had comprehended the Power of Extraordinary Magic Domain.

To think that upon encountering a Wizard from Black Nightmare Swamp, he was directly severely injured and eliminated, the opponent showed no mercy... Clements was right; among the exploration missions, the ones to be most cautious of were Wizards from other forces!

At this moment, within this Secret Realm Space of Mirror Court, many similar acts of plundering and being plundered were likely taking place.
