Chapter 33: +Chapter 33+

Caspian could fucking guess why, maybe it was because the Alpha had immediately kissed him without so much as a hello. He eyed the door, was there really no way to leave?

"I’m Nikolai," The Mafia King went right on, like this was a pleasant scenario.

Caspian already knew that, just like the Mafia King already knew his name.

He wanted to Nikolai to cut the bullshit, "What do you want?"

"You." Nikolai replied just as bluntly. "I figured I was clear about that the last time we met."

Caspian frowned, "Why?" He couldn’t wrap his head around it.

Surely a Mafia King had his pick of women, why did it have to be him, a bought Omega who was also male?

"The technicalities don’t matter. I always get what I want."

Caspian had to suppress a shiver, for the first time, he genuinely considered revealing his secret.

Surely, the Alpha would lose interest when he found out that he was just a guy in a dress. He was tempted to try it but Nikolai wasn’t a person to trust, he didn’t put it past the Alpha to tell Asher just for the fun of it.

"I already belong to somebody else," Caspian reminded him, noting that the Mafia King conveniently forgot about Asher when he wanted to.

"What’s your price? Double? Triple?"

It took a moment for Caspian to realize that Nikolai was talking about his winning bid, and that was enough for him to get to his feet.

"I think I should go."

Because if the Mafia King was willing to go that far for him, he would taste mouthfuls of hell at his hands.

Caspian wasn’t greedy, he was in his current position by accident and a string of bad luck. He just wanted a little apartment and a steady job.

Nikolai watched the Omega curiously, he never thought he would have to try this hard to convince her. For someone so fragile, she certainly had a sturdy backbone.

Omegas who chose to auction themselves only wanted one thing, money, so his offer should have had her falling over her feet to accept it.

He appreciatively watched the swell of her ass as she walked over to the door, pausing in front of it, eyes wide in badly hidden apprehension. "Can I leave, p-please?"

Hearing her beg made his spine tingle, he put out his cigarette and straightened up.

"We haven’t had lunch yet, Cassia." He drawled, intentions wicked.

Caspian closed his eyes at that, he knew that the Mafia King wouldn’t let him go so easily.

Honestly, he was surprised that Nikolai was still choosing to be courteous, considering that the last time they met, he had bit him till he bled, kicked him, and then ran off.

So he forced himself back to his seat, a tremulous smile on his face as he reached for the silver cutleries.

If Nikolai could pretend that this was a pleasant lunch, he could do the same. So although he had just eaten and his appetite was nonexistent, he dug into the food.

Nikolai watching him with unwavering curiosity was deeply unsettling but it didn’t stop him from choking back food, the acrid scent of cigarette smoke fading away.

In the absence of the cigarette smoke that was constantly around Nikolai like a cloud, his scent became more obvious. Clean and cold like winter, with an undertone of sandalwood.

Caspian wished the Alpha would light another cigarette, his scent was a little bit distracting.

After a few minutes of eating obediently, he sat back and expectantly stared at Nikolai.

Nikolai caught his jaw, wiping the side of his mouth with the pad of his thumb, the smile on his dangerously handsome face long gone.

"T-Thank you," Caspian muttered, trying to pull away and failing - Not this again.

Fortunately, Nikolai didn’t try to kiss him, yet. The Alpha absently stroked his face, looking deep in thought.

"I didn’t think I would have to take you by force," He murmured, raspy voice gentle.

Caspian did a double take, needing to play the Alpha’s words in his head a couple times before their meaning sank in. What?!

Now he wrenched his face from Nikolai’s hold and shot to his feet, needing to put some distance between them.

He was easily caught by the Alpha, his back meeting a hard chest as he was pulled on him, Nikolai tucking his head in the curve of his neck.

The panic Caspian tried to keep at bay threatened to drown him then, fear souring his sweet scent.

He struggled in the Alpha’s hold, his dress hiking up to bare his thighs. His efforts were no more effective than a prey’s tries to escape the death grip of a predator.

Tears stung his eyes, making his glittery eye makeup shimmer. "P-Please... don’t..."

Nikolai turned the Omega’s head to the side so he could get a good look at her, drawn in by her tears. He had just wanted to get a better whiff of her scent but he only succeeded in frightening her, again.

It was clear they weren’t compatible so why couldn’t he get her out of his thoughts? She was too soft, too fragile, so breakable.

"Shh, it’s okay," He comforted her, pleasure tingling at his fingertips when that just made her tears fall faster.

He glanced at his watch, it was almost time for Asher to ask for updates on the Omega, the only reason he couldn’t just take her with him like he wanted to.

It was rather comforting to find out that he wasn’t the only one with a consuming obsession with the slender Omega in his arms.

Caspian could barely see through his tears, trembling, skin tingling at the close contact with Nikolai.

So he was stunned when the Alpha suddenly joined their lips together, gasping and choking as burning liquor filled his mouth, going slack in Nikolai’s hold as he deepened the kiss.

It was far stronger than white wine, his head starting to feel like it was filled with cotton, sandalwood filling his lungs as Nikolai’s tongue tasted every inch of his mouth.
