Chapter 491: +Chapter 491+

AUTHOR’S NOTE: I made a mistake with Patty’s secondary gender, she’s a Beta, and I’ll go back to make the necessary changes.

Protective gear was the next thing after introductions were done. Ivan went over a couple of brief lectures as he closely watched them put on ear and eye protection, as well as gloves.

Jael obediently put on protection gear as well, helping Caspian with the velcro straps on the heavy tactical gloves. The Omega had his earmuffs around his neck but even that wasn’t enough to hide his red-tinted mating mark and the various shades of hickeys on his neck.

Ivan, one of the trainers gave him a wide berth no doubt because of this, which was a wise decision on his part.

He picked up a handgun and listed off all the parts, showing them the appropriate ammunition and magazines and how to use a magazine reloader.

Then he directed them all to put on their earmuffs and walked over to a target and shot at it. "It’s a handgun but you might want to hold it with two hands to brace yourself for the recoil."

At that point, he was mostly speaking to Rosie, the red-haired secretary was the closest to him, absorbing information like a sponge. She brought out her gun, making Ivan’s eyes bulge.

Not only was the gun handcrafted which meant that it was already worth a pretty penny but there were genuine gems encrusted in it. He almost didn’t want her to use it.

"Can I have a magazine reloader?" She asked bluntly, unaware of the trainer’s thoughts.

Ivan grabbed the appropriate ammunition for her gun and handed it over to her, watching her closely as she tried to mimic the actions he had just done.

Next to them, Jazz who was the quieter of the two approached a jumpy Patty. The Beta was just as tall as Ivan, her hair cut short enough to confuse people about her gender at first glance.

Caspian stepped forward at the same time she did, "Here’s her gun." He said handing the gun directly to the trainer. It was nothing like Rosie’s bejeweled gun but it was brand new and a recent model.

"Thanks," Jazz took it, her voice low. "Where’s yours?"

Caspian brought put a handcrafted gun that was also nowhere as flashy as Rosie’s but was clearly of high quality. "It’s my husband’s," He couldn’t help but add, wanting to brag.

Jazz nodded, making a mental note to be careful around the beautiful male Omega, he was clearly married to someone dangerous.

She directed them to the other end of the spacious shooting range so they could still have a conversation even though the other duo were firing rounds.

Seeing as she was dealing with two clients while Ivan focused on Rosie, it was only natural that Jael tagged along with them. He wasn’t a trainer but he had used guns long enough to be able to help out where he was needed.

Jazz didn’t mind, handing the handgun over to Patty. Her quiet gaze lingering as Patty took the offered weapon with a tremble in her hands.

Caspian’s gun was empty so he could confidently use it to pat Jael, "Not going to join us?"

Jael shrugged, he was partly here to keep an eye on Caspian. With Rosie a step closer to learning how to use a firearm, he was more worried for whoever was unfortunate to cross her.

He would rather not be right there if he could help it though, Patty lost hold of the magazine reloader several times and when it finally seemed like she had gotten a firm grip on them, they both slipped out of her hands.

Jazz caught them with ease, her reflexes quick, muscle shirt framing her well built physique. "Why don’t we start out by placing them on a table?" She suggested, her voice free of judgment as she walked a short distance away to a nearby table.

"I-I’m sorry," Patty apologized, near tears. She was worried that she had ruined the gun and the shooting range property.

"Don’t worry, guns are sturdy," Jazz reassured her, her low voice as calm as her demeanor. "Let’s try reloading the gun while it’s on the table..."

While this considerate conversation was going on, Caspian was left beside the targets, still holding Asher’s gun. It was hard not to notice how intently Jazz focused on his accountant, the quiet trainer was steady and calm, an opposite of Patty.

Caspian decided to leave them to each other, maybe Jazz would be good for Patty and some of her calmness would rub off on the timid Beta.

He turned to Jael who had also been watching Patty and Jazz’s interaction, holding up his gun. "Mind teaching me how to use this?" freewebnøvel.com

"Sure," Jael agreed, his tone dry. He walked off to get the appropriate ammunition, noting that Patty didn’t even glance at him even though he walked past her.

"Like this?" Caspian asked with a happy smile when he managed to reload his handgun all by himself.

"Yes," Jael nodded, a gunshot going off at the far end of the shooting range. Behind them, Jazz was still patiently teaching Patty how to reload her gun without losing her hold on it, the trainer’s patience was endless.

At first, Patty only got more frazzled because she kept screwing things up, but when she realized that Jazz wasn’t getting upset or impatient, she eventually managed to get a hold on herself.

Jazz led the way to roughly the middle stall in the range, not hiding the fact that she had left their third client all by himself.

Caspian didn’t mind this, a concentrated expression on his face as he held up the gun the way Jael told him to. He completely missed the target on his first try but it didn’t dim his excited smile, he pulled off his earmuffs and turned to Jael.

"Did you see that? Did you see my shot?"

"It was hard to miss," Jael muttered, having a difficult time keeping his laughter off his face.

His pun completely went over the satisfied Omega’s head, Caspian placing his earmuffs over his ears to practice some more.

Jael had reflexively taught him to use a with single hand because it was what he was used to, and Caspian had handled the recoil pretty well, doing better on the second try and hitting the edge of the large circular target.
