Chapter 505: +Chapter 505+

"What do you think about going to pay Silvia a visit?" Nikolai forced out through gritted teeth after making his way back into the apartment.

Angelo sat up, he had already begun to feel drowsy but Nikolai’s words woke him right up. "Did she blackmail you?"

Nikolai hadn’t told Silvia about this yet but he knew she would be all too happy to keep Angelo with her when he explained things to her.

"She’s constantly asking for that, it might as well be blackmail." He said nicer things that he planned.

Angelo shrugged, he didn’t mind staying with Silvia. Besides he was hurt, it wasn’t like he would be busy. "Sure. Are you traveling out of town?" ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

"Something like that," Nikolai answered avoidantly.

Angelo didn’t think much about the Mafia King wanting him out of his apartment for a day or two. "But you have to let your injuries heal, don’t get into anything dangerous and make sure to sleep." He yawned as he spoke, it was late in the afternoon, the perfect time for a nap.

Nikolai didn’t respond, making his way over to squeeze on the couch right next to Angelo. To his utter disappointment, Angelo rose to his feet and headed out of the living room, no doubt to take a nap, his long black hair trailing behind him.

He didn’t follow after Angelo even though he wanted nothing more than to do that, he needed to make a few calls. Jael had the right idea to be wary of Luis Caddel, he would have to be meticulous about his planning, to the very last detail.

He didn’t care if the High Council found out what he did - which was inevitable - he just planned to make sure they couldn’t interfere.

"Said he’s a Luis Caddel," Jael turned to Asher when the call dropped, "The name sound familiar to you?"

Asher’s brows drew in, the name rung a bell, albeit a faint one, he might have heard the name before. "A little bit. Find out everything you can on him."

"Nikolai said not to worry about him. The Mafia King was the one to ask about Luis Caddel, said he would handle it."

Asher had a look of surprise on his face, "Might be best to stay out of it. It’s never a good sign when Nikolai is on the search for someone." He leaned back in his seat, preparing to leave. He had left his mate watching a show they were supposed to see together.

"Right. By the way, mind if Rosie stays here until Lake and Davian returns?" Jael asked, as long as Luis Caddel stayed away, he would live and let live but it was best Rosie stayed nearby.

Asher paused halfway out his seat, his questions visible on his face.

"She was with me when we ran into Luis Caddel." He explained briefly, already heading to the door because he could guess what Asher’s answer would be.

"Sure," Asher agreed, his tone dry. He could already predict how the night would go, Caspian would be too busy settling Rosie in to keep watching their show.

He might as well sit back down and get started on some documents so he could come home earlier the next day.

Jael made his way out of Asher’s office, he had ditched Rosie in the foyer but she had been over enough times for him not to be worried about her.

Patty had clocked out but he knew where to find Rosie. He didn’t even have to get to the kitchen study to find her, she was seated right at the island with a bowl of blueberries.

"Asher said you’re welcome to stay," He informed her, "I’ll go let Caspian know."

Rosie had a mouthful of blueberries, a happy smile on her face. She didn’t look like she cared much about anything else.

Jael slipped out, reminded of Rosie robbing him in the middle of a restaurant. He made a mental note to never mess with her food again.

Calling Nikolai had put him somewhat at ease about Luis Caddel. The Mafia King was a lot of things but if Jael had the option to team up with him or go against him, he would choose Nikolai’s side in a heartbeat.

Caspian was curled up on a couch in his room when he got to their bedroom, a smile on his face when he realized who it was.

"Jael! You’re back."

Caspian’s bright smile was soothing, he completely understood why Asher worked so hard just so he could come back early to him.

"I am, and I brought Rosie," He leaned against the door, relaxing at the sound of Caspian’s voice.

"Rosie is here?" Caspian got to his feet, excitement brimming in his eyes as he walked over.

"She’ll be staying over until Lake and Davian get back."

Caspian’s smile dimmed at that, "Did something happen?" He asked in a quieter tone, his voice full of concern.

"Nothing too dangerous, we just ran into someone and I didn’t want her to be by herself." He summarized the encounter.

Caspian’s brows were still furrowed, it was clear it was something worrisome if Rosie had to stay here but he didn’t ask any further questions. "I should go help her get settled in."

"She’s in the kitchen," Jael said to Caspian, already heading out. "Save some blueberries for me before she eats them all."

Caspian’s smile returned at that, "You might want to hurry, I’m not making any promises.’’

Jael didn’t doubt that Rosie would go through their entire supply of blueberries if the kitchen let her, and with Caspian there, they just might.

For a petite Omega, she could put away a lot of food considering that she was already filled with unbridled rage.

Jael could take a breather for the first time since he returned to the mansion. He was still a little guilty about dragging Rosie into his mess, Caspian and Patty would definitely be over the moon at the new arrangements but it had to be an inconvenience to her.

He would have to apologize properly, another drive would probably get him the butt of a gun to his head. Buying her food might work, but he had to be careful with that, or she could slyly make him pay for her food for the rest of the year.
