Conquering a fantasy world with the US Army.-Chapter 11: Building my second FOB.
Chapter 11: Building my second FOB.
I woke up to numb arms as I looked at the girls sleeping with smiles, getting out of bed, and making their groans as they protested my leaving. Still, I need to lead by example, and lying in bed all day is out of the question, as I need to pay a visit to the temporary COP so I can make the FOB and give orders to the new General that can't be pushed off, as time is of the utmost importance right now. Can I build a force before the two lower-tribes get here, as I put my uniform on, skipping PT, as I need to fly out after talking to General Matthews.
I was walking out to see my guard in PT's. "LT, skip PT today. We are moving out. Have your platoon ready in 45 minutes." I said, making the LT dismiss his platoon and move towards the TOC. "General Matthews, I am promoting you to Major General. You will command the two new Generals of the FOBs I will build in the next two days. I want a sitrep on the village raided last night and the number of women brought back." I said, making her salute and smile.
"Yes, Emperor. We got a total of 957 women, 500 from the village that was attacked by the other two villages. That is most likely why they attacked, as those two villages only had 100 women each, and some of them were on the older side of their age. I take it that they weren't good during the war and didn't get many or any women. They were forced to attack that village to ensure they could breed. All 957 have been checked out, and the pregnant ones have been helped." He said, making me nod, that it would make sense why they were so willing to put most of their men into an attack on that village, leaving only an amount to watch over the women. I looked at the system map, and it was time to add blueprints. I need to buy a food resupply depot. Adding it to the FOB, ensuring we don't run out of food and MREs for the COPs.
Looking through more blueprints, I found many that I will want in the future, but right now, they aren't helpful for the war effort, and I will have to take a back seat. "I will be heading out now, General. If you need to contact me, I will have my radio on me," I said, turning around as he salutes me as I leave the TOC. Lt. Jefferson and his platoon were standing outside.
"Let's go," I said, going to the airfield and boarding a chopper to the COP, which landed after thirty minutes. CPT, withdraw all your men from the village," I ordered as they pulled out. I had pre-saved how I wanted it and pressed build, and the wooden village turned into a FOB. I named it Sparta and started to summon the planned units; I walked into the FOB with the two Ranger companies and my guards. I was met by a one-star Marine general who went by the name Patton.
"Welcome to FOB Sparta, Emperor. I am Brigadier General Patton." He saluted me while welcoming me. I returned the salute and started talking. "Take me to the TOC. I will give you your mission and explain how I want you to conduct it," I said.
We entered the TOC, which looked the same as FOB New Rome. I went and pulled out a map. "I will be building another FOB here tomorrow, giving you an overlying field of fires with the M777 at these four points. I believe we will be attacked by one of these four routes within the next four days. I want you to dispatch a Marine recon platoon to these four mountaintops overlooking these key points. The enemy will be in large numbers, and these are the best routes to move them. We strongly believe they won't try to take another route, as they aren't that great at tactics that we can tell." The General had a notepad in hand, as I continued to speak.
"On top of that, I want you to send in two Air Assault Battalions to claim these four villages tonight, freeing the women they have and relocating them back to this FOB. I will figure out if I should keep them here or pull them back to FOB New Rome later, but I want them out of those villages first. Taking more civilians to FOB New Rome right now would be hard, as we are already pushing the limits. At best, I will have to move some from FOB New Rome so I can take care of the pregnant ones you have freed. After freeing them, I want you to burn those villages to the ground. With this, there will only be one small village and the two lower-level tribes, making it impossible for them to hold this area anymore." I finished saying.
"What kind of Air support can I use?" He asked

"Anything you want, as at this point we have to go by the cats out of the bag. After tonight, there will be no way the other areas controlled by other lower-tribes will know of us being in the forest." I answered his question as I looked at the map. "You will fall under Major General Matthews, he is my second in command. If he can't handle your requests or questions, he will pass them on to me. Is there anything you need me to answer?"
"Yes, Emperor. What do we do with captured enemies?" He asked for clarification.
"They aren't human-friendly, so they don't get quarters, and as they have shown, they aren't civilized, so they shouldn't be treated with it. Kill them without reserve; that is my rule of engagement for Orcs." I said, making a wicked grin appear on the General's face. I can tell I will like this one a lot.
"Your Orders will be carried without fail, Emperor!" He saluted me, and I returned it. As I was leaving, I stopped before speaking. "I will leave the two Ranger companies here, let them get chow and a place to sleep. You can use them if you need them," I said, and the two CPTs nodded.
I walked around the FOB once to see if I missed anything that would need fixing or upgrading, but it looked like it could handle what was about to come its way. Well, that's if the Orcs make it through the cannon fire. I thought to myself with a smile before my people, and I loaded a chopper and headed back. All that's left to do is to hurry up and wait for the two tribes to make their move on me. I want them to come to me, leave their villages, so I don't put the women in danger when I attack the lower-tribes villages. I would attack them head-on, but they have stone walls, and if by chance they turtle behind them, I would need to blast them, making it likely that civilians will be hurt in the crossfire.
Drawing out as many as possible will weaken their ability to fight a defensive battle, and I can storm those walls better. I was thinking of a hundred things on the way back to FOB New Rome, and I may be overthinking things, but I don't want to let my men down.
"Emperor, we have landed?" Lt Jefferson asked with worry as I was lost in thought. "Oh, right," I said, standing up and leaving the chopper. Your platoon can take the rest of the day off and talk to some of the saved women. They need a shoulder to lean on. After all, your men look pent up." I said with a smirk, making the soldiers roll their eyes, thinking, " Whose fault is that?"
