Cosmic Paragon-Chapter 59: Vampire Form!
Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Vampire Form!
Ever since Cassandra had set foot in the fallen city, she had not needed to draw
these weapons that she had received from the academy for this trial. Yet, right
now she had to bring them out to face this Grade 3 magical beast.
Cassandra drew deep breaths of air, she was covered in injuries, but she didn’t
care because they were already healing at a speed visible to the naked eye. This
was how special Vampires are they have terrifying vitality so it is extremely hard
to successfully kill one.
Cassandra had a solemn look in her eyes as she looked at the Golden Crown
Tyrant Black Hawk..
"This can’t continue! The Golden Crown Tyrant Black Hawk is a powerful beast at
the peak of Grade 3, and its a king species among Tyrant Black Hawks so if I
don’t use drastic measures even I will lose and that would mean death in the real
world.’ Drake called out.
"I am eventually going to die, but I can’t let myself die just yet." her eyes shone
with resolve and she finally activated her trump card.
’Vampire Form!’
Unlike other elemental affinities, Vampires had no special long range attacks. The
Vampire powers instead emphasized on enhancing the ability’s of the person.
Strength, agility, senses, reflexes, vitality. These are the things that a Vampire
relies on. They were basic things that made up the foundations of a warrior yet it
was these basic foundations that made a Vampire so scary.
Vampires couldn’t use long distance spells, but when it came to close up fights,
they were the supreme masters when it came to close combat.
Even among Mages, only very few affinities could compare to the terrifying
physical power of Vampires. Thanks to their special powers the could brig forth
terrifying strength, exceptional speed and agility, extraordinary vitality and
supreme senses.
It could be said that a Vampire wasn’t truly in their complete form when the
Vampire form wasn’t active, and so they could not use their full power. Yet, now
she had activated her Vampire form, so she was now in her most primal state.
As soon as Cassandra activated this special ability, she felt her body heat up
rapidly. Right now she was feeling like all the blood in her body was boiling. This
sensation she was feeling made her feel like all the cells in her body had suddenly
all been awakened.
She felt as though all her senses had been heightened beyond their limits and as
her magic power surged through her, she felt like her attack power seemed to had
doubled. But when it attempted to go higher the light of the sun shone on her
and she felt as if a set of shackles were placed on her. It was like thousands of
chains had wrapped around her preventing her from unleashing any more power.
Casandra raised her head and her eyes had turned blood crimson, they were like
glowing lanterns.
This was her special ability as a Vampire. When a vampire used their vampire
form, their attack power would multiply. At this moment be, it her attack power,
reaction speed, agility or the strength of her senses they had all doubled.
The pressure from Cassandra’s aura caused the ground within several feet
around her to crack and sink, her clothes fluttered in the wind..
She took a step forward and a crater several feet wide formed beneath her foot.
The next second the ground exploded and her figure disappeared. She was
moving at a speed so fast the human eye would not even be able to catch sight of
her shadow.
Cassandra was moving at a speed twice as fast as her normal peak speed. One
second she was on the ground an the next she was in the sky next to the Golden
Crown Tyrant Black Hawk.
The Golden Crown Tyrant Black Hawk also sensed the change in the human and
felt the impending crisis. This caused it to raise its guard to max.
Before it could do anything however Cassandra had already charged at it. One
second she was on the ground and the next she was right in front of it.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
The Golden Crown Tyrant Black Hawk hastily raised its wings to defend against
her and clanging sounds akin to metal colliding against metal sounded as
Cassandra’s short daggers clashed with the Golden Crown Tyrant Black Hawk’s
wings. novelbuddy.cσ๓
BOOM!
The Golden Crown Tyrant Black Hawk finally managed to send Cassandra flying
towards a building several meters away, but as she flew away, she flipped in the
air then nimbly her feet stepped on the walls of the building.
BANG!
Like a bullet shot from a gun, not even waiting for the laws of gravity to register
she shot herself forward at the Golden Crown Tyrant Black Hawk again.
CLANG! CLANG!
BOOM!
SCREEEEE!!!
The Golden Crown Tyrant Black Hawk was pissed that it was getting attacked so
much, yet it could not get rid of this pesky human that was preventing it from
enjoying its snack no matter how much it tried.
Cassandra’s attacks did not relent, she would attack as much as she could to
keep the Golden Crown Tyrant Black Hawk pinned in place. She would use the
several meter high story buildings as footholds to launch herself back at it when
she was thrown off or create footholds with her own magic power when she could.
it had been a long time since Cassandra had gone all out and used her full power
in a fight. Her eyes were blazing with excitement and her battle intent was
burning like a raging inferno. She was truly enjoying this fight.
"I’m going to kill this beast." was all she was thinking. She had completely
forgotten that the Golden Crown Tyrant Black Hawk wanted to attack Sylvia.
...
Drake and the twins had been on a killing spree since morning as they
adventured through the fallen city. They had killed a lot of magic beast whether
Grade 1 or Grade 2. However, they hadn’t encountered any Grade 3 beasts.
Grade 3 magic beasts were Peak level beasts in the Fallen city so it was only
natural that they were rare. Normally, Only one in a hundred Grade 1 magic
beasts would evolve to Grade 2. And then maybe only one in a thousand Grade 2
magic beasts would evolve successfully to Grade 3.
Yet, even then they had to make sure to stay out of sight of their competitors or
the magic beasts that were only slightly stronger than them, or they would be
killed.
If only one in a thousand Grade 2 beasts could evolve to Grade 3, then maybe
only one in 10,000 would survive as Grade 3 magic beasts. That is why Grade 3
magic beasts were so rare.
Grade 2 beasts were quite a bit scarce on the outer parts of the city and they
needed Mage points so the trio decided to head deeper into the fallen city.
Surely the deeper they went into the the city, the more frequent they ran into
Grade 2 magic beasts. Before too long Grade 2 beasts became more common.
Time went by fast and soon there were just a few minutes left on the clock for the
survival training to end. So they were doing their best to kill as many magic
beasts as possible.
Drake and the twins had just finished exterminating a hoard of Grade 2 magic
beast Crazed Boars. When all of a sudden the sound of a terrifying beast cry
resounded through the city.
SCREEE!!!
"What was that?"
"I don’t know, but it does not sound like an ice cream truck." Peter rolled his eyes
at the question. ’How the hell are we supposed to know? Do I look like a SHAZAM
app!’
Paul scowled at him.
SCREEE!!!
The cry resounded again, this time they were able to identify it clearly. It was the
cry of a bird type beast and it carried a certain prestige that weighed down on
ones mind like an invisible mountain.
They recognized that pressure very clearly, it was the oppressive pressure similar
to the one they had felt when they were up against the Wind wolf Alpha.
That was the pressure of a Grade 3 magic beast.
"That sound, it’s a Flying type magic beast!" Peter said with a solemn look.
"Nothing gets past you, huh!" Paul snorted, he was still feeling bad after that
earlier remark and wanted to get back at him. So he threw a jab at his brother
This made Peter frown. "Paul, if you don’t have anything to say then be quiet.
Nobody will think you are dumb if you don’t say anything."
"That’s enough you two." Drake chose this time to interject, "I really don’t
understand why you guys like talking to each other like that."
"We’re twins, if we don’t bicker with each other who will we do it with?" they
shrugged.
"It might sound stupid, but when we bicker we get rid of all the beef and
misgivings with each other, this way we won’t have to worry about keeping long
grudges with each other."
"And if if he still holds a grudge, I kick his stupid ass."
"Or I kick his stupid ass. It’s just how we get along."
Drake was tongue tied by these two. But then he thought about it and realized
that this was probably why they had such an unbreakable bond.
In every relationship, there would always be times when arguments arose. These
arguments were are as a result of difference in opinions contradicting each other.
Normally, this is good since people had different thought processes and small
debates can help them come to the best decisions. But these little contradictions
can also lead to conflicts and if these conflicts aren’t settled the right way they
result in rifts in relationships and that could cause 99.9 out of a hundred
relationships to collapse.
But with these two they had nothing to worry about when it came to piling up
grudges. That’s because they treated their misgivings and contradictions like
water in a tank.
If the water in this tank was let to accumulate over time it would soon be filled,
on the day it was filled they would have reached the limit of their tolerance. But,
these two didn’t let this tank get filled because they would always empty out the
accumulated grievances every once in a while.
Normally, when one was up against people that fought as a team like the twins
did, the first thing to do to take them out would be to create a weakness by
sowing dissension between them. But these two had completely rectified any
chance of having this weakness.
This made it so their relationship with each other was always kept at it’s best.
Nothing could be perfect but at least the trust they had for each other was kept it
even strengthened.
’It’s no wonder they are always in tune with each other.’ Drake thought, with
some jealousy in his heart. It was hard not to envy them.
SCREEE!!!
