Chapter 317: Delicious Meal Part 1

Orpheus, his face etched with a hint of surprise at Brynhild’s offer, led her past the sleek home theater system towards the kitchen. The air hung heavy with the lingering scent of the blooming orchids from the foyer, momentarily chased away by a wave of enticing aromas – the promise of culinary delights to come.

Sliding open the large, soundproof door, Brynhild gasped. The kitchen was a chef’s dream, a symphony of stainless steel and gleaming white Corian countertops. Floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides offered a breathtaking view of the city skyline, transforming even the most mundane chore into a visually inspiring experience.

At the center of the room stood a large, central island, its smooth surface begging to be used for chopping vegetables or kneading dough. Suspended overhead, a collection of sleek pendant lights cast a bright, focused glow on the workspace. Top-of-the-line appliances – a stainless steel oven with a digital display, a built-in steamer, and a professional-grade gas range with a wok burner – gleamed under the light, whispering promises of culinary adventures.

Hidden behind sleek, integrated panels were cabinets that seemed to vanish into the walls, offering ample storage for cookware, dishes, and a well-stocked pantry. A built-in coffee maker promised a quick and delicious pick-me-up, while a wine fridge tucked discreetly into a corner hinted at the possibility of a relaxing evening with a glass of something special.

Every detail, from the hidden spice racks that popped out with a gentle touch to the automatic faucet that dispensed filtered water, spoke of functionality and luxury combined. This wasn’t just a kitchen, it was a culinary playground designed to inspire and delight the most discerning chef.

Brynhild, her eyes sparkling with a mixture of excitement and determination, turned to Orpheus.

"This is amazing! I can whip up something incredible in here," she declared, already scanning the drawers for pots and pans.

A genuine smile, one that reached his eyes for the first time that evening, tugged at the corner of Orpheus’ lips. Watching her enthusiasm, he found her action to be cute.

"I have no doubt," he replied, his voice softer than usual.

"Why don’t you go get cleaned up while I explore this amazing kitchen?" Brynhild suggested, already rummaging through the refrigerator.

"Master, surprise me with your shower speed, and I might just have something delicious waiting for you when you get back."

Orpheus, a flicker of warmth blooming in his chest, nodded. The prospect of a delicious meal, prepared with such enthusiasm, was a welcome distraction from the weight of his secret.

"Challenge accepted," he replied with a playful smile, a rare occurrence these days.

As Brynhild became engrossed in the culinary possibilities offered by the magnificent kitchen, Orpheus excused himself, his heart lighter than it had been in a long time.

Orpheus stepped out of the kitchen, the echo of Brynhild’s laughter fading as he closed the door behind him. He needed an escape, a moment of solitude to wrestle with the primal craving that gnawed at him. His steps, almost leaden, carried him down a hallway bathed in a soft, cool blue light that emanated from strategically placed LED strips.

He arrived at the bathroom, a haven of sleek minimalism. Like the kitchen, floor-to-ceiling windows offered a panoramic view of the city, though this time veiled by a translucent film that provided privacy while still allowing soft, diffused light to filter through.

The centerpiece of the room was a massive, freestanding bathtub crafted from a beautiful black volcanic rock. Steam billowed from the surface, carrying with it the calming scent of lavender essential oil. A rain shower with multiple settings, nestled in the ceiling, promised a waterfall-like experience.

Without hesitation, Orpheus shed his clothes, his reflection staring back at him from the large, illuminated mirror. The scars etched onto his skin, a gruesome testament to his past battles, seemed to stand out more starkly in the cool light. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

He stepped into the steaming bath, the hot water a welcome assault on his tense muscles. He closed his eyes, willing himself to relax, to focus on the calming scent of lavender and the soft hum of the ventilation system.

But the peace was a fragile thing. Beneath the surface, the primal craving writhed, a ravenous beast demanding to be fed. His body thrummed with a feverish energy, his senses hyper-aware of everything around him – the way the water swirled around him, the scent of Brynhild’s perfume clinging faintly to his clothes discarded on the floor.

He gritted his teeth, clenching his fists until his knuckles turned white. Images flashed in his mind – Brynhild’s startled eyes at the ice rink, the inviting scent of her blood, the warmth of her touch. The beast within roared, a primal urge to sink his teeth into her soft flesh, to sate the insatiable hunger.

Sweat beaded on his forehead, his heart pounding a frantic rhythm against his ribs.

’’What’s wrong with me recently? I’ve never felt like this before? Maybe it’s the side effects of forcibly using that thing to heal most of my injuries?" Orpheus wondered, it was better to look into this later. He must take care of this problem as soon as possible because the peaceful moment wouldn’t last forever, his enemy must be aware of his arrival and already planning their move. He act to be at his full strength in order to deal with everything.

’Hehehe! This will be fun. The more challenge is, the more fun it will be. I must start preparing in earnestly. I should do something about Lucifer. With him by my side, things will become easier I guess.’ he began planning his next action. He could use their next vacation to sneak into the demon realm disguising as Luna’s aid.

’It is decided, let’s do that then!’

Orpheus finally emerged from the bath. The steam had cleared, revealing the city lights shimmering outside the window. He wrapped himself in a plush towel, the coolness a stark contrast to the heat that had radiated from his body moments before.

Stepping out of the sleek, minimalist bathroom, Orpheus squared his shoulders and headed back to the kitchen. The delicious aroma of food filled the air, an invitation he couldn’t say no to.
