Cultivation Online-Chapter 1904 Leaving the Desolate Continent
Chapter 1904 Leaving the Desolate Continent
"How long do you plan on training here?" Elder Sun asked Yuan when he continued shortly after the Immortal Ensnaring Vault was activated.
"Since we can't leave, I will train until the Immortal Ensnaring Vault is deactivated. I'm sure the Sect Leader won't punish us for returning late, as we have no control over our situation."
Elder Sun nodded and said, "Alright, but if the Immortal Ensnaring Vault isn't gone by the end of the year, I'll take us out of here, even if it might inconvenience the Nine Immortal Clans."
Thus, Yuan continued his training in the Desolate Continent.
A few weeks later, Elder Sun suddenly asked him, "I've been wondering, but why are you storing all of the magical beasts?"
"To sell them."
"For money? Are you in need of money?" Elder Sun asked, misunderstanding his intentions.
"It's not money, but it's something like that."
"I don't understand." Elder Sun shook her head, but she didn't try to question any further.
Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, three months had gone by since the Immortal Ensnaring Vault's activation.
Yuan had reached the peak of Spirit King, and he was only one monster core away from the next realm.
Once he acquired the monster core, Yuan wasted no time consuming it. Although he didn't expect any results, he still wanted to confirm it.
However, to his surprise, the limit that had prevented him from breaking through the peak of Spirit King before evolving his physique was not present, and he'd entered the first level of Spirt Emperor without any issues.
'What the hell? I don't need to evolve my physique to increase my cultivation?' Yuan was quite surprised by the results.
However, if he thought about it, while it may seem like a good thing that he didn't need to evolve his physique, it was actually a bad thing. After all, if the physique was weaker than the original, then there was a good chance it didn't have the capability to evolve at all.
"Heavens… you're already a Spirit Emperor? It's only been three months since you reached Spirit Lord! At this rate, you'll return to the sect as a Spirit Sovereign! Only Core Disciples who have been at the sect for over a hundred years have reached that level!"
"I guess I'll take the Core Disciple examination as soon as I return—Oh, right. I still need contribution points. What's the fastest way to earn a thousand contribution points?" Yuan asked her.
"The fastest way? Ask the Sect Leader for the points," she jokingly said.
However, this gave Yuan an idea.
'What if I can purchase contribution points with points?'
"What's a realistic option?" Yuan asked, just in case he couldn't purchase them.
"There is none. Assist sect elders and participate in as many events as you can."
"I see."
Time continued to pass, and before Yuan realized it, it'd been half a year since the Immortal Ensnaring Vault had trapped them inside the Desolate Continent. Yet, the Immortal Ensnaring Vault remained active.
'What is going on? Why is the Immortal Ensnaring Vault still active? It should've been deactivated by now…' Yuan thought to himself as he looked at the black barrier in the sky.
He gave it a few more weeks just in case he remembered wrong.
"It's still active…" he mumbled.
This was the second time the timeline had strayed from the one he knew.
He couldn't fathom why the Immortal Ensnaring Vault was still active. 'Could this be a different timeline? If that were the case, why do the people here have memories of my timeline's Tian Yang?'
Suddenly, Yuan noticed a drastic change in Elder Sun's expression, looking like she'd just eaten a fly.
"Elder Sun? What happened?" Yuan asked her.
She sighed.
"Nothing. I just had an argument with Tian Yang."
"What?" Yuan's eyes widened at her puzzling response.
'She just had an argument with me? How's that possible?'
Elder Sun had been by his side this entire time, and there was no way he would've missed her interacting with Tian Yang, even if he was focused on training.
"What did Tian Yang say?" Yuan decided to dig deeper.
"I'd secretly placed a life-saving treasure on him without telling him. He didn't give too much information, but someone he was close to died, and it seems like he's blaming me for it."
"..."
Yuan was speechless. That conversation sounded like what had occurred right outside Han Zexian's Tomb, but they'd never gotten close to that place.
'Wait… What if her memories are progressing as if she's in the original timeline, but in reality, she's living a different timeline, and I am the cause of this phenomenon because I made her remember Tian Yang, who doesn't exist in this world?'
After pondering a little longer, Yuan found it to make more and more sense.
'This won't trigger the destruction of this world, right?' Yuan swallowed nervously as he recalled what happened when Huang Xiao Li recalled memories of the original timeline.
The Immortal Ensnaring Vault lasted for another two months before finally being deactivated.
"Looks like the Nine Immortal Clans are finally done. Are you ready to return to the sect?" Elder Sun asked Yuan, who'd just finished slaying a magical beast.
"Yes, I am ready."

Yuan thought about visiting Han Zexian's Tomb but decided against it in the end since it wouldn't really benefit him, who could purchase treasures at the point store.
Sometime later, Yuan and Elder Sun left the Desolate Continent on the flying treasure.
Once they returned to the Immortal Monastery, Elder Sun dropped Yuan off at his living quarters while she went to speak with the Sect Leader.
"Get some rest. You've trained for over half a year with barely any rest. Come see me next week," she said to him before leaving.
However, Yuan didn't bother going home and went straight to the point store to sell his loot.
"Can I sell materials obtained outside the sect for points?" Yuan asked the clerk.
"Of course."
Yuan sighed in relief after hearing this and immediately placed all of the spatial rings he'd filled with magical beasts on the desk.
"I'd like to sell all of the materials here."
"I understand. Give me a few minutes to calculate everything."
