Chapter 17 -17 Lady Yan Treats Her Son Like a Monkey
Mr. Yan arrived in H City on his private jet, nearing seven o’clock.
The plane landed in the garden of the Yan family villa in H City. As Mr. Yan stepped down from the plane, the setting sun painted half the sky in shades of orange-red, highlighting the splendor of midsummer.
Standing beside the helicopter, Mr. Yan gazed at the sunset, which painted his hair a brilliant hue. The setting sun outlined his handsome face, accentuating his extraordinarily handsome and graceful appearance.
However, his normally stunning good looks were currently tainted by the frowning eyebrows and tightly pursed lips that exuded a menacing aura.
Two men in black dashed out from the European-style villa and stopped in front of Mr. Yan, panting slightly while respectfully addressing him with a salute, “Master!”
Mr. Yan turned and his sharp gaze scanned their faces, “Any news?”
During the journey, he had ordered a series of investigations via satellite phone. The two men in front of him were the persons in charge of the Tong family’s businesses in H City.
The taller one was called Ma Peng, and the shorter one was Tong Yong.
Mr. Yan’s brief words made them bow their heads.
“Master, there’s no news yet…” Ma Peng responded uncomfortably.
“What about Tong Feng’s situation?”
Though Mr. Yan’s tone was unpleasant, there was no indication of him blaming them. He strode towards the villa and Ma Peng and Tong Yong hastily followed.
“His father left the southern border a few days ago, and we are not sure of his current whereabouts.”
Mr. Yan murmured, considering the possibility of Tong Deming, Tong Feng’s father, having left the southern border and then arriving in H City.
Tong Deming was the cousin of Mrs. Yan, technically making him Mr. Yan’s uncle. Years ago, he had worked diligently and performed significant services for Mrs. Yan, earning her trust and favor.
However, after Mr. Yan took over the Tong family’s businesses, perhaps due to differences in their perspectives or the generation gap, Tong Deming used his age as an excuse and retired. Tong Feng, who had been helping his father manage the Tong family’s businesses since his teens, stayed behind after his father’s retirement.
Mr. Yan sat down on the sofa inside the room, accepted the hot tea handed over by a servant, took a sip to moisten his throat and instructed Tong Yong, “Find out Tong Deming’s whereabouts, if you can’t find out openly, probe into it secretly.
Tong Yong left to carry out the orders. Mr. Yan put down the cup, stood up, and told Ma Peng, “Get the car ready. You’re coming with me for a ride.”
Accompanied by Ma Peng, Mr. Yan visited several senior members of the community. However, they all reported that they hadn’t been in contact with Mrs. Yan or Tong Deming for quite some time.
Mr. Yan, along with Ma Peng, visited four such seniors consecutively, and the answers were mostly similar.
It was nearing ten in the evening when they left the house of the fourth senior. As they prepared to depart toward the next senior’s home, an exhausted Mr. Yan gently massaged his temples, trying to remember what detail he might have overlooked that had led to the current impasse.
Qin Xiu’s phone call came when Mr. Yan was still en route to the home of the fifth senior.
Before the other party spoke, Mr. Yan asked, “Did you receive any phone calls?”
What he meant was calls related to kidnapping.
“No, but Miss Zhu did call to ask if Mrs. Yan and Mr. Yan had returned home. I told her to await contact; she then asked me to relay a message to you, urging you to take care of your health, no matter how busy you are.”
Qin Xiu recounted Zhu Qianying’s words, and Mr. Yan just responded with a light “Mm”. Qin Xiu then reported some work-related matters.
Just before hanging up, Mr. Yan suddenly issued an instruction, “Call Zhu Qianying and tell her I’ll contact her after I finish my work.”
“Alright!”
For the first time after hours of high tension, the image of someone who was not family flashed through Mr. Yan’s mind.
If he didn’t explain the situation to her, perhaps she would be at the Yan mansion demanding answers the next day.
That’s what Mr. Yan thought.
The car continued forward, turning right at the junction ahead to reach the person Mr. Yan was seeking.
The phone rang again, this time it was Tong Yong.
“Master, we’ve found the old mistress and master.”
Upon hearing the news, Mr. Yan signaled the driver to pull over and asked, “Are they okay?”
“Yes, the old mistress and master are fine!”
Mr. Yan exhaled a long breath, “Where are they now? I’ll head over immediately.”
“They’re in suite A1 of the Seaview Hotel.”
The Seaview Hotel is a property of the Tong family, or rather, it now belongs to the Yan family.
And Suite A1, with the most open view among all rooms, had always been exclusively for Mrs. Yan.
No longer having the mind to guess why his parents had suddenly moved from the airport to the Seaview Hotel, nor to complain about their whims, Mr. Yan was just thankful that both were safe and sound.
But his relief, once he set foot on the soft carpet of The Seaview Hotel, gradually turned into anger.
He got a spare key for Suite A1 from the front desk, opened the door to see his ageing but still beautiful mother sipping tea with a jade cup, and his agitation erupted into a roar, “Tong Xiaohua, do you think it’s funny to mess around with your son like this?”

Mrs. Yan had received notification from the front desk the moment he had come to collect the room key, knowing that her precious son had rushed over from L City.
Prepared for his outburst, she placidly put down the jade cup, reached out to pull her tall son closer and without warning, she swung her fist and landed it hard on her precious son’s belly!
Caught off guard, Mr. Yan winced from the pain, but he refrained from crying out.
“Tong Xiaohua, what’s gotten into you!”
As Mr. Yan yelled, the bathroom door swung open. A middle-aged man with a striking resemblance to Mr. Yan appeared, adjusting his bathrobe belt and watching the tense exchange between his wife and son with amusement, “What’s the matter? It’s only been ten days since we last met and you’re itching for a fight?”
Clearly, the man had grown accustomed to the mother-son duo’s unusual method of communication.
“Dad, can’t you control your wife? Of all the games, she decides to play hide and seek! Do you know that if I couldn’t find you two by midnight, I would upturn the whole H City!”
Mr. Yan, not knowing where else to vent his anger, began yelling at his father. He couldn’t deal with his mother, but he was sure he could handle his father.
Yan Bo walked over, put one hand around his wife’s waist and sat next to her, “Your mom said if you couldn’t find us by midnight, she would disown you as her son!”
All men are similar, in front of their wives, sons are meant to be stepped on and betrayed!
After yelling a couple of times, Mr. Yan’s anger subsided somewhat. He sank into the sofa and glared furiously at his mother who had fooled him, “Out with it! What trick is the old lady playing this time?”
