Demon Hunter and His Cabin-Chapter 218 - Leaving
Chapter 218: Chapter 218 Leaving
Chapter 218: Chapter 218 Leaving
“Everyone, be careful. There may still be other monsters lurking below,”
Roger cautioned.
The blood on the stone platform slowly slid off, revealing its original appearance. The whole platform was about three meters in diameter, entirely black, and surprisingly without any signs of artificial polishing, as if it was naturally formed.
Roger glanced around and then noticed a wooden lift directly above the platform at the top of the cave. He quickly climbed onto the lift and then had the others lower him down slowly.
“How is it?”
Lawrence, standing on the shore, called out loudly, while Tangde released his Evil Spirit at this moment. He let his Evil Spirit leave his body and controlled it to approach the platform.
“The marks above seem to be left by the Voodoo Association. As for its specific function…”
“Should we activate it?”
Truth be told, Roger was also hesitant.
Everyone exchanged glances.
“Do we have any other choice?”
“It’s very likely our only chance to get out of here.”
“Okay.”
Roger nodded and then his spiritual power dispersed from his mind, activating the Array in front of him.
“Buzz!”
A vibration sounded through the air as the Array on the stone platform was activated, emitting a green light.
Everyone quickly backed away, but after a long while, nothing happened.
“What’s going on?”
A light of insight flashed in Roger’s mind. He suddenly connected many details—the monsters guarding this place, the faces similar to Arlo and Julianne on their bodies.
“Could this be the key to controlling ingress and egress from the entire Cursed Land?”
Aside from Julianne, it seemed no one else should be able to approach this place. With this thought, Roger quickly gestured with his hand.
“Everyone, follow me!”
After speaking, he climbed down from the lift and made his way to the outside of the cave along the stairs.
He found the stone house he had visited before, and as expected, the wall against the mountain had become as smooth as the surface of water.
The others following behind him were also overjoyed at this sight.
“It’s the exit!”
“We can leave now!”
Clang!
Roger drew the Steel Sword from his back.
“Everyone, be careful. There may still be a fierce battle waiting for us outside.”
The smiles on everyone’s faces faded, and they nodded in agreement.
Various signs indicated that the Voodoo Association had been operating in this place for a long time, so it was very possible that the outside was another one of their strongholds.
Having been trapped in the Cursed Land for several days, naturally, they had no idea what had happened on the outside.
Lawrence and his group had been hiding here and there, only experiencing a terrifying night in the cottage atop the mountain. In their minds, the person in charge of the Voodoo Association here was still Arlo.
They had no clue that not only had Roger killed Arlo and Joseph, but even Julianne, who arrived later with the strength of a New Moon, had also died by his hand.
Reaching Transcendent was enough to draw attention; if others knew he had killed Julianne…
At that moment, Roger was ready to flee.
He had killed Arlo, Joseph, and Julianne; the Voodoo Association would certainly not let this go. If he didn’t run now, when the Voodoo Queen’s people came for him, it would be truly dangerous.
Activating the Quinn Dharma Seal, Roger took the lead and stepped out.
It was like passing through a thin mist, without any sensation on the body, and when Roger came to his senses, he found the scenery before him had drastically changed. He stood on an unknown mountain, with Rivervalley Town visible in the distance.
“Finally out!”
The continuous running and fighting over the past week had left him utterly exhausted, but most of all, it was the constant oppression weighing on his heart.
This Cursed Land was like a cage; if he couldn’t leave, being alive was no different from being dead.
Turning around, the figures of the others also appeared at the summit.
Roger found it strange that there was no Voodoo Association outpost here.
“Let’s part ways!”
Tangde sighed, being the oldest, he had the most concerns.
“I hope we can meet again!”
Roger nodded in acknowledgment, then quickly left along the mountain road.
The Cursed Land, relatively speaking, was quite isolated; he had dealt with everyone who had appeared at the Wolff Factory.
When he arrived in the core area with Gale, no one else had seen his face, and Julianne, the only one who had, was already dead.
For the time being, Roger felt relatively safe.
Hmm… The car left near the Wolff Factory was a clue, Roger hesitated for a moment, deliberating whether to drive it away or not.
After thinking it over, he decided not to waste any more time and to leave the Bordeaux area as quickly as possible.
Once he escaped the Voodoo Association’s sphere of influence, the rest would be easy.
The world is so vast, there’s always a place for him.
However, when Roger quickly made his way to the vicinity of Rivervalley Town, he found that the streets of the town were empty, and there were soldiers patrolling the intersections.
On Main Street, police cars passed by from time to time, and suddenly, Roger’s pupils shrank slightly as he saw a figure walking out of one of the shops.
“Adeline?”
“What’s she doing here?”
“What happened?”
An absurd thought suddenly occurred to him.
“Could it be that we spent a few days there, and several months have passed outside?”
He naturally didn’t dare to go forward and ask.
Seeing the situation at the intersection, Roger knew that even if he found a vehicle, he wouldn’t be able to drive out of there.
The town was a no-go zone, so he estimated the distance and decided to set out on foot through the mountain forest immediately.
Just as Roger was leaving Rivervalley Town, a Voodoo Association car also arrived, and Ashley, with a few witches, entered one of the houses with grim faces.
It wasn’t long before she left the house.
The Voodoo Queen’s special method of contact had not worked, and Ashley tried various means, but to no avail, just like stones sinking into the sea.
Then she went to the town hospital, and to her surprise, all the patients had come out of that bizarre state, and it was only a matter of time before they fully recovered.

“What happened?”
According to the prior arrangement, she and Julianne should absolutely not have met.
To avoid being discovered, once the entire plan commenced, the portal to the Cursed Land could not be opened for a long time.
They could only communicate simply through the method left by the Voodoo Queen beforehand.
But now, with communication cut off and the patients, who should be in a state of illness, all back to normal, Ashley’s heart sank; she knew something unexpected had happened within the Cursed Land.
“Was there a problem with the ceremony, or did a new monster appear there?”
Suppressing the urge to open the portal to the Cursed Land, Ashley knew she had to be more careful in this situation; if caught with concrete evidence…
“I should ask the teacher for advice.”
After some thought, Ashley dialed Cassandra’s number.
After a long wait, a familiar voice came through.
“Ashley?”
Blake’s voice was neither hurried nor slow.
“Lady Cassandra has already entered there.”
A mundane statement made Ashley’s heart leap; she suddenly had an ominous premonition.
With two of the Voodoo Association’s top battle powers gone, she was now the only one left struggling in Bordeaux.
