3594  Aila's Physique

Fairy Aila Cherryweave sat on the deck, letting her curly pink hair sway as the flying boat moved past many sceneries. She wasn't bothered by the everchanging sceneries but occasionally glanced at the purple-robed man seated at the center, wondering how she got into this situation.

The whole thing felt surreal, making her feel like she was daydreaming.

Was she being taken to the Divine Emperor of Death's city right now?

If that's the case, was it true that she was exiled from her family?

"…"

Her expression couldn't help but wilt when she thought about it. The faces of many people who were good to her flashed past her eyes, especially her father and mother and two little brothers who had just been born.

She knew she was going to miss them badly but also knew that she wanted what she wanted, causing her to turn and look at him.

"Are you regretting already?"

Davis turned to look at her with an amused smile.

He had given her two days, but she instantly chose to exit her family from what he heard. It seems that she wouldn't have been able to leave otherwise.

To him, it begged the question of whether this venture was really worth it.

"Regret?" Fairy Aila Cherryweave's lips curled wryly, "Nope… but sad, yes…"

She paused for a few seconds before she added, causing Davis to nod.

"What if your decision turns out to be a failure?"

He asked as he gazed at her petite figure, wondering how she could endure it.

"In what way?"

She returned the question as though she didn't consider the possibility that it would be a failure as her smile became prominent behind her veil.

It made Davis inwardly chuckle as he knew she already had a witty answer to keep him from losing affection for her.

"Don't worry. I won't abandon you unless you betray me. I'm asking on the off chance that we all get wiped out by the universe or I die, and you end up becoming a widow. Will you lament getting together with me by then?"

"…"

His words caused Fairy Aila Cherryweave to frown.

"Why would I lament for the latter? As your wife, I should follow you unto death."

"…?" Davis raised his brows, appearing taken aback, "The Cherryweave Family has such a custom?"

"It's what we exchange when we get married. Our souls are densely linked in a ritual under a Cherryweave Tree, which means that if one of us dies, the other dies as well. Oh- you did say we wouldn't marry… I see."

"It's not like we wouldn't marry but you're too far off the list," Davis reminded, "I won't treat you special just because you're a Celestial Fairy."

"I don't want you to treat me as a Celestial Fairy. I want you to look at me… look at the person known as Aila Cherryweave."

Fairy Aila Cherryweave pressed with her little lips, causing Davis to look away and chuckle.

"Ah yes—- a little lass who gets everyone to do her bidding."

"Mmph~ I'm not spoiled anymore… and I don't have people to do my bidding anymore…"

Fairy Aila Cherryweave sighed a bit, looking forlorn again.

Today, she lost much, but then again, she also gained the man she first fell in love with. Although the exchange was not adding up, she imagined that, with time, it would eventually reveal that she was right.

She vehemently believed so.

"Don't you have me? If I don't do your bidding, how can I call myself your husband?"

Abruptly, his confident voice echoed out, causing her lips to part as she gawked at him before a bright smile appeared behind her veil.

"I love you~"

"You already said that today." Davis reminded.

"I will say it whenever I feel like it~"

Fairy Aila Cherryweave felt like standing up and dancing. Instead, she hugged her legs more as though she was hugging Davis and snuffing out his breath under the weight of her mountain peaks.

"You don't mince your words exactly. On that note, you're like Fiora, so I think you two will get along well." Davis didn't notice. Instead, he also smiled as he got infected by her mood, thinking about the future.

"Fiora…"

Fairy Aila Cherryweave mumbled, "I'm a bit scared to meet them…"

"Be yourself, but also be mindful." Davis advised in a gentle voice, "I wouldn't want any of you looking at each other with a hateful gaze, and just so you know, they all approved of you just like you had planned it."

"Really…!?"

Fairy Aila Cherryweave's eyes lit up, "In that case, I'll give it my all to befriend them."

"Well, you won't find them now as most of them are busy cultivating. That's for sure."

"Doesn't matter. I have an entire life to befriend them as neither of us is going anywhere away from you~"

She giggled as she seemed like she was having fun, causing Davis to shake his head lightly.

"That said… tell me about your powers. I want to know what you are as I can't tell if you're a pure human or a fey, not that it has any bearing over how I treat you. I wish to know as I need to decide or look after your cultivation path as well."

"Hehe, if I'm going to be personally fed by the Divine Emperor of Death, it will be of little doubt that I will become too powerful, adding onto my own talent."

"Sorry but the resources I gained from the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm is almost over. Every one of my wives is a hungry wolf you see. They'll eat you if get caught, torn apart limb by limb…"

Davis's voice was grim, causing Fairy Aila Cherryweave to giggle again.

She couldn't help but look at him fondly, knowing that he was making her feel comfortable to make the sense of loss go away. It just reminded her of her mother now.

"I'm not a pure human, nor could I be considered a fey." Fairy Aila Cherryweave started, "The amount of fey blood I possess is negligible. It comes from my mother, whose ancestor had married a magical beast, so their descendants had fey blood until it died out two generations before my mother, but it reawakened in me with vigor when my Silken Cherry Physique burst forth."

"Due to my physique, my height didn't rise much, but I rose to prominence within the family and eventually got into the Celestial Fairy Rankings with the help of my prowess and beauty. As for what my physique entails, it can be as soft as jelly or hard as a strand of silk able to cut through everything, allowing me to slip through most obstacles as though I'm a spirit."

"What…?" Davis narrowed his brows, "A human is unable to phase through objects."

"Indeed, but I'm partly fey— my magical beast blood stemming from the Rosy Cotton Rabbit whose fur is no different than bait that allows it to feast upon its predators as its charm causes much confusion within the mindset of the predators, sometimes telling them to eat more of its cotton in order to charm them into its control."

"…"

"Of course, I've never let anyone eat my cotton candy. Everything belongs to you…!"

"…"

Davis didn't know how to respond to that, so his stare only made Fairy Aila Cherryweave blush all the way to her ears and neck.

Her words made him wonder if a battle physique turned into a dual cultivation physique because of the concoction of the right magical beast blood existing within the body.
