After hanging up the phone, Cherish Turner turned away to wipe away her tears. For some reason, she didn’t want William Griffith to see her crying.
When she turned back around, her face was again filled with heartless laughter. But this sort of mirth just made William feel more pained.
He knew she had her pride, so he pretended not to notice anything.
