Chapter 37: Huo Yuhao Faces a Financial Disaster.
It took a while for Huo Yun'er to calm down and stop burning their house with her [Crimson Flames], but the damage was already done.
"Sorry, Hao'er. I thought you were controlled by that thing, okay? Don't be mad at Mommy."
Huo Yun'er was coaxing her depressed baby boy, who was staring lifelessly at the burnt half of the house. She had really thought that something bad had happened when she went out exploring the great city of Tokyo.
She was having a whale of a time in this modern era. Sure, Douluo Dalu had insane architecture that defied common sense, as the people there had access to different martial souls and fantasy-esque materials that would cause Earth's material engineers to start salivating.
But she had basically spent her golden years living like a prisoner in the [White Tiger Duke] mansion.
And so, she was overjoyed when she finally could walk outside, go shopping, meet new people, enjoy different sceneries, and more.
But imagine her horror when she came home and found her precious son hugging what looked like an abomination—something that could end all sentient life with a flick of its tail.
She almost went insane; she was truly ready to unleash hell on Earth to kill that thing and save her Hao'er from its vicious claws.
It took a long time of explanations and cuddling to satiate her and calm her down, but as mentioned earlier, the house was now a complete mess.
Fortunately, only the hallways, storage rooms, and a few guest rooms fell victim to her fiery wrath.
The main living areas were saved by Yuhao, who used his [Herrscher of Void] powers to redirect the flames to the imaginary number space where the flames would burn outside the concept of time.
Still, Yuhao was financially devastated—almost to the point of tears. Technically, the place belonged to the Sage originally, but as the Sage's heir, Yuhao considered it his home now.
And watching it burn? That hurt.
"I am never going to financially recover from this," he said in a monotone voice as he continued staring at the smoky remains.
"Okay, stop the drama, Yuhao. The house needed to be renovated anyway, so this could be the trigger for you to start,"
Stated the tuna living in his head. She was familiar with the boy's antics regarding anything to do with money. His greed was almost endlessly scary from her point of view.
Yuhao silently agreed with the tuna before turning around and hugging his mother back, sinking his beautiful face into her gentle mountains, causing her to smile and tighten her embrace around his body.
(An: For those who have forgotten, Yun'er looks like Changli from Wuthering Waves. So, cry silently beside me.)
The house really did need some work. The Sage had left it bare outside of basic furniture, and luckily, they still had the house in Tokyo.
It was unaffected, as [The Door] didn't allow the flames to pass through it, interestingly enough.
That basically meant Yun'er's flame could be stopped by it, and that was enlightening for the young boy.
The world of Argena was not really a high-level world; it was a generic, isekai-esque world created by an author who had a hard-on for creating a frustrating protagonist.
So, for that world to have an artifact that could block Huo Yun'er's [Crimson Flames]—and for the record, her flames burned through utter destruction—it was an eye-opener for both of them.
Never underestimate a world, no matter its level.
After this brief wholesome cuddling session, they started preparing dinner while talking about their day.
Yuhao told her about Fou's origin, as it was his creation made by his [Monster Slime] martial soul soul skill, and introduced the little cute furball as the newest member of their small and cozy family.
Yun'er wasn't really on board, as her [Vermillion Bird] martial soul was closely related to life, and having a being that ends all life near her constantly would theoretically stress her out.
Fou, however, brought out its cutest looks and started behaving all cutesy toward her, and that basically won her over. After all, cute was indeed justice.
The day ended with all three members of the family sleeping next to each other. Yun'er was snuggling and hugging Yuhao like a body pillow, with Yuhao hugging her back, and Fou was snuggled between them.
It was a perfect end to a hectic day—well, almost.
"Time for some training, Yuhao."
Kiana brought him—well, his consciousness—into the Stigma Space, where he would continue training his spear arts and increase his [Knowledge Circle] by studying the records of Einstein and Welt stored in the Stigma Space by the [Herrscher of Finality] herself.
The grind never stops, lads. Never stops.

It was a new day, and Yuhao was currently standing in the backyard of the Sage's house, holding the Sage's book in his hands.
"Magic is difficult. Magic bad. Spear good."
And apparently, he had regressed back to the Monke age with this unsophisticated speech pattern.
"Fou."
And unfortunately, the cute furball Fou agreed with him.
"I spoke with great confidence that I would create a barrier around [Great Devil's Den] Forest in a week, but that task might have been more difficult than anticipated," he said as he closed the [Sage's Book] and rubbed his tired eyes from reading the nonsense written in it.
"I'm doing pretty well for myself as a teacher, because, honest to God, the amount of unclear instructions written in the book is infuriating,"
Kiana complained with a venomous tone as she stared at the closed book with undisguised hatred from the Stigma Space—and for good reason.
The Sage was special, to say the least. His [Magic Circuit] allowed him to cast any spell he could imagine, as long as he had the mana capacity for it. Do you realize how overpowered that is in a low-tier world like the world of Argena?
The people of Argena should be thankful that it was the Sage who had this special [Magic Circuit] and not some pervert or murder hobo, as the consequences would have been disastrous.
The Sage knew how special his [Magic Circuit] was and decided to use it to reconstruct human magic and rebuild it from the ground up. He made it better, stronger, and faster on a fundamental level; he was basically the Merlin of this world.
So why was Yuhao frustrated with the book's content?
Well, since the Sage's magic basically ran on his imagination, he did not note down all of his thoughts, ideas, and mental images. He only noted down the 'feeling' of magic in the book.
And what does that mean? Well, that's the part Yuhao was stuck on.
It reminded Yuhao of the scene where Shoko Ieiri from JJK tried to explain the Reversed Cursed Technique.
She kept her 'explanation'—if we could even call it that—very vague and abstract, while also using made-up mouth sounds.
It made no sense to the listener, but it made total sense to the speaker. And that was the case right now.
The Sage explained using language that he understood, but clearly the reader—Yuhao—could not. Even if it made total sense from the Sage's point of view.
'Do I have to hire an assassin to cut me like sashimi so I can understand the meaning behind the Sage's magic like Gojo Satoru? Heh, that would be pretty funny, not going to lie.'
Yuhao mused to himself as he stood up gently, carrying Fou in his arms, and went to place him on his pillow on the back porch in the backyard before returning.
'The Sage's [Magic Circuits]—I have them. Better yet, I have something even better.'
'My [Honkai Circuit] keeps the original functions of the Sage's [Magic Circuits], but it was modified to use and manipulate all types of energy—especially [Honkai Energy].'
'Hmm, I can absolutely work with this.'
He thought as a basic plan started forming and a grin spread across his face.
"Oh no. No no no no. I don't like that look, Yuhao. You always have it when you're about to commit war crimes against the monsters in the forest. I don't like this at all."
Kiana's clear eyes had lost their color as she watched her disciple grin like the villain he was. And Yuhao skillfully ignored her.
"It's time for some magic studies, my dear teacher."
