Chapter 27: Fate(2)

Seeing the weak human struggling so hard to change his fate, she had an epiphany and felt like she was now ready to step into the realm of the sages. She was very confused, struggling to find the right path for herself.

Becoming a sage is a very important thing in the path of cultivation. It is not the end, but it is a very strong deciding factor that would determine which path you could take in the future.

After officially entering the realms of sages, you would earn a new class of your own.

The classes are divided into different ranks.

From lowest to highest: common, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary, and lastly, mythic.

She was confident in breaking through the ranks for the past few months with a rare or, if lucky, an epic-rank class.

Advancing the rank of your class is a very difficult thing to do naturally, with the help of natural phenomena like the checkpoint of reaching the initiate rank, which is the first time when everyone gets a class, and advancement upon reaching the sage stage.

For some people, only their class would change, and the rank wouldn’t advance, but she didn’t want that. Because the higher the rank of one’s class, the more likely they are to learn higher-grade skills or skill rankings closer to their class rank. And more importantly, the boost they would get with every cultivation rank enhancement would be greater, too.

That is all she knew and learned in the library of their academy. She was excited by the boost they would get at each cultivation rank, but that was not the thing that thrilled her the most. The thought of easily being able to learn skills or spells closer to class rank was the real perk.

She knew how hard it is to learn a new spell. The higher the grade of the spell, the more difficult it would be to learn. Some people take their whole lifetime, and even then, they can’t learn a single epic or legendary spell.

So this is a very big thing for her—or anyone else.

A higher class rank would change the destinies of people. She had gotten an uncommon class at her initiate rank, which wasn’t the best. Most people would get a common class.

That is not something she desired, as some unparalleled geniuses like the daughter of the Elven Queen had gotten an epic class at her initiate rank, or other geniuses who had mostly gotten rare—and some exceptional ones had epic rank, like the princess.

But they could only be counted on one hand.

She blamed her talent when she had gotten an uncommon class. Unlike the geniuses, her mana resonance was lower at the time of awakening, reaching only 82, which could be an exceptional resonance for normal elves, but who is she? She is the heir to the Greenheart clan.

But due to her talent being low, she had lost her position as the heir at the time of her awakening. Yet she didn’t give up. She tried to reach the so-called geniuses and, more importantly, reclaim her position as heir.

But no matter how hard she tried, she could never reach it, which is why she had accepted the fact that she was not fated to be the patriarch of the clan like her mother.

She was famously known as "Average" in higher society—even in the academy, she could barely get into the top 30 in her class.

So seeing a weak human boy trying to defy his fate, with talent a million times worse than hers, had triggered her.

By seeing his tenacious will and resolve, she thought that just maybe, just maybe, he could really break free of his fate.

What he had done today shouldn’t have been possible with his frail body. He had done it with his will alone.

She, too, hoped to break free of her fate of being average.

If a normal elf heard her thoughts of calling herself average, they would puke blood from their mouth.

But maybe with this epiphany she had, she could change her own fate, too.

She looked for the cause of all this—a weak human boy who only had his looks going for him, with practically nil potential, but still trying to constantly defy his fate.

She bent her knees to sit on the ground and used her hands to turn him around. She could see his bloodied face and shattered arm. She knew he already hated her for doing this to him. She got carried away. She felt very bad knowing she had done this to someone like him. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

She quickly used a Great Heal spell on him, but once was not enough to heal him completely, as his bones were still shattered in his hand. It’s a rank five spell, so casting it was not easy for her, even if its grade was low. She cast the spell once again without any hesitation.

As if something were to happen to him, she would never be able to forgive herself.

After the golden light of the spell vanished, this time, Arthur looked completely unharmed.

Ivy used another simple step to clean the blood from his face completely, and seeing his handsome face once again, with him naturally breathing, she felt much more at peace.

She prince-carried him to the bed. While carrying him to the bed for the first time in her life, she thought of getting into a relationship. Noticing what she had thought, a blush appeared on her face.

But she quickly denied those thoughts. Yet in her mind, if she became the patriarch like her mother, she wouldn’t mind taking him as her concubine.

She knew bloodline and strength were very important when it came to these things, but she didn’t care—even if he was a lower human or not. While she couldn’t take him as her husband, she didn’t care enough about others’ opinions, so taking him as a concubine was not even a question.

He was the first man she started to like, so nothing else mattered to her.

She didn’t know if it was love or not, but she cared about him a little now.
