Chapter 36: Paying The Library a Visit
Fira asked him to confirm his words.
"Are you still feeling sour, Arthur?"
Arthur doesn’t know why she asked that when he just told her that, but he still answered her calmly.
"Yes."
"Hmm," Fira hummed.
After knowing that, she couldn’t just let him go like this. While he may not know, she could easily help him with her magic.
She didn’t ask for permission on anything and suddenly cast a rank 2 spell, Heal, on him. As the little amount of mana from her body left, a magic circle appeared in front of her. It was a small magic circle, shining brightly, indicating which element it was made of.
Warm golden light enveloped Arthur, and he felt a warm current flowing inside his body as all the fatigue and soreness from his body started to leave him.
After the warm current finally left his body and the golden light vanished along with it, Arthur’s body felt completely free. All the sourness in his body left him as if it had never been there before.
’Is this magic?!’
This was the first time he had seen an actual magic spell in action, and he was just mesmerized by its effect and its beauty.
Seeing this had made him more determined to learn magic now. He knew he had absolutely no talent when it came to magic. According to Ivy, the most he could learn in his lifetime is some simple spells, and even that wouldn’t be helpful in fighting.
’I don’t want that.’
Seeing the beauty of magic, he could never give this up.
He still remembered the weird riddle he had gotten from the treasure he had found inside the mine. Its name was Ethalarion Replisis. He remembered only the title he got after becoming its owner was overpowered, so surely the treasure itself would be overpowered too.
He had to solve that riddle if he wanted to have any chance of leaving here with a sense of security.
’I am counting on my physical prowess only because of the 200% boost I had gotten from the title of Ethalarion Replisis.’
’So now my first priority should be both training and solving the riddle at the same time. I can’t give up on either of them and would pay a visit to the library today to see what I could find there’.
Fira saw pure excitement on Arthur’s face.
"Don’t be too excited, Arthur. Even if I have healed you using my magic, you still have to rest. Your body still needs rest even if you don’t feel any pain."
Arthur, hearing her words, gave her a nod and said,
"Thank you so much for helping me so much, Fira."
He had to go now, as he really wanted to visit the library as soon as possible. He wanted to see what was there; if possible, he was hoping to find some clue that could help him solve the riddle.
"Bye, Fira, and thanks once again for everything. I really am looking forward to your cooking," Arthur said with a warm smile on his face and left afterward after hearing her goodbye.
"You should be prepared. Next time I heal you with only my cooking—and cooking alone," Fira said.
Arthur, walking through the hallways, felt very grateful to Fira for cooking those magical dishes for him. While she hadn’t said it directly, her last words were enough for him to understand she had accepted his request.
Instead of his usual way of going to his dorm building, Arthur reached the garden, and, just like Fira had instructed him, he started moving north at a quick pace, walking, not running, as he still remembered Fira’s words.
It took him about 7 minutes, and now in the distance, he could finally see a villa that was surrounded by a nice garden, and only a little distance away from it, there was a white wooden building that had only three floors.
Its size was neither too big nor too small.
When Fira had said the library was located near the warden’s house, he had suspicions that it should be Ivy’s, but after seeing such a nice villa here, he was sure that it must be Ivy who was living here.
’Argh, my shitty luck.’
He didn’t even want to be near her, but his fate seemed to have other plans for him.
’I just hope that I won’t come across her.’
He was genuinely scared to even see her from afar.
’I can’t give up this library at any cost, so I have to remain cautious at all times.’
There was one more thing that caught his attention: the villa was made of concrete and marble. It did have nature around it, which made it seem more aesthetic.
He had a misconception that elves live in wooden houses, but that was over after seeing the modern villa.
He carefully reached the front of the library. He could see a wooden sign in front of it. It was a colorful sign on which the word ’The Library’ was written in English, which was smaller compared to the other strange letters above it, which he didn’t seem to understand.
’It might be the language of elves.’
He didn’t stand at the entrance any longer and entered through the large designer white wooden gates, which were open. He entered the library, where the first thing he noticed was the receptionist, who was also an elf and seemed to be reading a book, not even glancing at him as he walked past her area.
He liked how she just ignored him. He didn’t want to attract attention here, especially when Ivy was living right next to the library.
He had noticed there weren’t many books here, as there were only five bookshelves. He could roughly say there should be around 200 books here, which was still a lot more than what he had initially expected from a library inside the perimeters of a mana stone mine.
But when he noticed a 5 label each stuck on the side of all five shelves, and after reading it, he was fuming inside.
