Chapter 244: Let’s do it all

Noelle’s POV

I can’t stop the gasp that escapes me.

The grand hall is enormous. Bigger than I imagined. My footsteps echo as I step forward, my eyes sweeping across the unfinished space. The walls stretch high, the ceiling soaring above with intricate carvings. Sunlight pours through tall arched windows, casting long golden streaks across the polished wooden floor.

Dust lingers in the air, stirred by the movement of workers as they adjust chandeliers, still wrapped in protective coverings. The place isn’t complete yet, but it doesn’t take away from how breathtaking it is.

I turn slowly, taking it all in. The intricate patterns on the floor, the massive double doors leading to other wings, and the unfinished mural on the ceiling, waiting for its final touches. Even in this state, it’s easy to picture what it will become—a place full of music, dancing, and warmth. Whether it’ll be used is another matter, seeing as how neither Thorne nor I are fond of social events, maybe one of our children will.

Thorne’s heavy footsteps approach from behind, and before I can say anything, his arm drapes over my shoulder, pulling me into his side.

"You’re staring," he murmurs, his voice laced with amusement.

"Can you blame me?" I say, my eyes still fixed on the grand space before me.

Thorne chuckles, his breath warm against my hair. "It’s still dusty."

I snort, nudging him lightly. "It doesn’t take away from the beauty."

I turn to him, meeting his steady blue eyes, and his lips twitch, his amusement growing.

"Neither do you."

I freeze, turning my head sharply to glare at him, but my face is already warm.

He knows it, too.

Instead of engaging, I roll my eyes and step further into the ballroom, away from my annoying husband dragging my fingers along one of the intricately carved pillars, feeling the texture of the cool stone beneath my fingertips.

I follow closely, letting Thorne lead the way, though I don’t know where we’re going next. His grip on my hand is firm but easy, his thumb brushing idly against my skin as we walk through the wide hallways of the estate.

Then, we step through a set of tall, ornate doors, and I stop in my tracks.

A massive indoor pool stretches out before me, framed by towering marble columns that reach up to a domed ceiling. The water is a deep, crystal-clear blue, reflecting the golden light filtering in through arched skylights above.

The entire space is breathtaking—a perfect mix of elegance and peace. The smooth tile beneath my feet is cool, lined with intricate mosaics that shimmer faintly under the water’s surface. Statues and plush lounging chairs are arranged along the edges, and the scent of fresh stone lingers in the air.

I let out a slow breath, taking it all in.

Thorne chuckles beside me. "I take it you approve?"

I blink, still awestruck, before turning to him. "I—Thorne, this is—this is ridiculous."

His lips twitch, amused. "Ridiculous good?"

I gesture wildly at the grand space. "Yes! What else would I mean?"

He smirks, clearly pleased with himself. "I figured you’d like it."

I step forward, my fingers trailing over the carved details of a nearby gold-trimmed column. "It’s beautiful," I murmur, my voice softer now.

It’s more than that. It’s beyond anything I could have imagined.

I glance at Thorne, his blue eyes watching me carefully, gauging my reaction. The warmth in his gaze makes something in my chest tighten.

"You’re spoiling me," I say, shaking my head.

Thorne hums, stepping closer. "I’m giving you what you deserve."

His words send a shiver down my spine, and I find myself smiling despite the overwhelming feeling settling in my heart.

Thorne tries to take me to a few more places, eager to show off the completed sections of the estate, but I give up halfway through.

This place is massive.

It’s overwhelming in the best way, but after wandering through endless halls, stepping into breathtaking rooms, and being led down grand staircases, I decide I need a break.

"I’ll see the rest later," I say, shaking my head with a soft laugh. "Right now, I just want to go to my garden."

Thorne tilts his head, amused. "Tired already?"

I give him a pointed look. "It’s your fault for building a literal palace instead of a house."

He grins. "Only the best for my star."

I roll my eyes, but my heart flutters anyway.

We make our way to the greenhouse, and the second I step inside, I’m hit with the rich scent of flowers, fresh earth, and a hint of something sweet.

I pause at the entrance, my breath catching at the sight before me.

The greenhouse is huge, its arched glass ceiling letting sunlight pour in, bathing everything in a warm, golden glow. Inside, millions of different flowers bloom in every direction, their vibrant colors creating a sea of pinks, blues, purples, and reds.

I take a slow step forward, drinking it all in.

A long reflecting pond runs through the center, lined with smooth stone, its surface dotted with floating lily pads. Tall cypress trees stretch toward the ceiling at the far end, and winding paths lead through clusters of blossoms, flowering vines, and carefully arranged bushes.

It’s perfect.

I chuckle to myself, walking deeper into the garden. Of course, I couldn’t choose just one type of garden.

Instead, we built everything.

A flower greenhouse, a traditional aristocratic garden, a massive orchard behind the estate, and more because I couldn’t decide. And when I hesitated, Thorne had simply said, "Let’s do it all."

And he did. ƒreewebɳovel.com

I run my fingers along a row of soft lavender blossoms, the familiar scent filling the air. Every inch of this place feels like a dream—a place just for me, something truly mine.

Thorne’s arms wrap around my waist from behind, his chin resting lightly on my shoulder.

"Happy?" he murmurs.

I lean back into his warmth, closing my eyes for a moment.

"More than I ever thought I’d be," I whisper.
