Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God-Chapter 541 - 448: Humanoid Giant Dragon_3
Chapter 541: Chapter 448: Humanoid Giant Dragon_3
The Earth Force and Earth Body, these two Transcendent rewards, are both extremely targeted, absolutely potent, but also come with glaringly apparent flaws, including one fatal vulnerability.
That is, once Kellysha is dragged into the air or left floating on water, unable to touch the ground, these two abilities would be completely nullified.
This is a characteristic of many unique Special Abilities; in pursuing the ultimate, they leave behind fatal weaknesses, as a form of Balance.
A sequence of abilities has made Kellysha a true Child of Earth; as long as she stands on solid ground, she could remain unmovable like a mountain.
After reviewing Kellysha’s detailed Attributes, Gaven immediately pulled out a Two-Handed Greatsword from his Howard Convenient Bag and offered it to her, "This sword is for you."
Although he now had a Portable Dimensional Hole, the Howard Convenient Bag was not discarded, as its convenience in battle surpassed the former, he surely couldn’t open a bag to fetch equipment during a fight, as no one would complain about having too much equipment carried with them.
"Thank you, but I do not need it, I already have a weapon that suits me well," Kellysha said, patting the board-sized greatsword on her back.
The Two-Handed Greatsword in Gaven’s hand was clearly designed for Humans and was a bit too small for her.
"Do not be hasty in rejecting it, first feel its power," Gaven said confidently, "After you’ve felt it, then you can decide."
"Could this sword have some special property?" Kellysha’s curiosity was piqued, and she reached out to accept it.
In Gaven’s hands, the greatsword was a great weapon, but once it reached Kellysha’s hand, it became nothing more than an One-Handed Sword, yet her expression changed slightly, unable to hide her surprise, "Is this the power of Berserk? Can one enter a Berserk State just by holding this sword?"
"Yes, and no," Gaven explained with a smile, "This is a cursed item, known as the Berserk Sword. The wielder, once they enter combat, will be forced into a Berserk State, indiscriminately attacking friend and foe alike until everyone around them falls, or they themselves do."
This sword couldn’t serve as a regular weapon, but it could be a backup weapon in desperate times. Its sheath was custom-made; as long as the blade remained sheathed, its power would not activate.
This Two-Handed Greatsword was another compensation Gaven received for handling a large volume of cursed items for the Hammer of the Holy Light Abbey.
Its ability was unique and couldn’t be classified entirely as evil; at least the Destroy Evil had no effect on it.
In many Spellcasters’ hands, it was more of an encumbrance.
Spellcasters couldn’t use Berserk, as such mind-affecting abilities would render them unable to cast spells.
Moreover, this form of Berserk was uncontrollable; once initiated, it was a Hail Mary, hence some tactically-minded warriors disliked it.
"Understood, then I’ll gladly accept," Kellysha said with joy as she slung it onto her back.
For many, it might be a cursed item, but for her, it was a treasure.
Her Professional Abilities, euphemistically known as a fusion of melee and magic, bluntly put, were mediocre.
In spellcasting abilities, she couldn’t compare to the diverse spells and limited daily casting of the pure casters.
In melee capability, she fell short of Barbarians, who enhanced their bodily functions, especially their Berserk, which would further stack their physical advantages.
If the fight ended before she exhausted her spellcasting abilities, all was well.
If it dragged into a prolonged battle, she would find herself in an awkward and weakened state.
But with the Berserk Sword, she could enter a Berserk State like a Barbarian, further stacking her own Strength and Constitution advantages, at the very least reaching 29 points, which were definitely innate bonuses.
That is to say, if she raised one more internal bonus point in Strength and Constitution, upon triggering Berserk, she would unlock Legendary attribute abilities.
And this task was within arm’s reach.
Because the twelfth Professional Level would provide her with one point of Attributes to distribute.
Although a single Legendary attribute ability wouldn’t make her as powerful as a Legendary warrior, it would still allow her to march with impunity among Transcendents.
By then, she would surely become a disaster on the battlefield.
For enemies as well as for allies.
But having to resort to this sword meant they were not at an advantage; using it to turn the tides would indeed be worthwhile.
While Gaven and the others were talking and exchanging information, one after another of the Golia in the first-floor Crystal Hall completed Earth Resonance, gaining new templates.
The selectees were as expected, none other than the Fearless Boulder and the Fearless One of the Mountain Tribe, the strongest among the brothers.
When asked about their enhancements, they too shared their Attribute panels straightforwardly. However, with the impact of Kellysha’s previous revelation, the brothers’ Attributes seemed rather standard.
Their highest Attributes were only on par with Kellysha’s; Fearless Boulder had a Constitution score of 25, while the Fearless One had a Strength score of 25, with Professional Levels of 10 and 11, respectively.
The root cause lay in the Transcendent rewards.
Both brothers had at least one Transcendent Attribute in Strength or Constitution before Earth Resonance and had made their choices, which, once chosen, couldn’t be changed.
What they had initially opted for was the most basic enhancement of Strength and Constitution, as Barbarian was the profession that benefited most from physical attributes, especially Strength and Constitution, the higher, the better.
However, the real reason lay with the Special Abilities Earth Force and Earth Body, which presumably were Kellysha’s unique Professional rewards as an Earth Watcher resonating with the earth and the Magic Network.
