Flash Marriage, Deep Love-Chapter 102 Moved (1)
Chapter 102: Chapter 102 Moved (1)
Upon hearing this, Xuanxuan blinked her eyes. The words sounded very familiar to her; as she thought about it, she quickly remembered that her mom had said something similar to her before.
"Why can I only understand it when I grow up?" She really wanted to understand it now, so she could know what exactly her father did wrong to make her mother so unhappy! Xuanxuan asked, puzzled and troubled.
"Because you haven’t read enough books yet, Xuanxuan. When you read a lot of books and gain more knowledge, you’ll naturally understand many things," Fang Qingru said. "So, let’s stop discussing this for now. Kabi hasn’t eaten anything yet; why don’t you go and feed Kabi some dog food?"
Xuanxuan loved playing with Kabi; she treated it like a little treasure. Hearing Fang Qingru mention Kabi, her attention quickly shifted. She jumped off the sofa and happily ran to the balcony.
Watching her cheerful little figure, it took Fang Qingru a while to look away. Just as she was about to say something, Mi Zhihong’s voice reached her ears.
"Xuanxuan is just like Wanwan when she was little—smart, sensible, and obedient."
"Indeed!" Fang Qingru sighed with emotion. "Time flies. Wanwan’s child is already so big, and we’ve gotten old."
Talking about her daughter brought a motherly tenderness to Fang Qingru’s face. She looked much calmer and gentler.
"Not old, you still look beautiful," Mi Zhihong said with a smile, generously complimenting his wife.
All women love compliments from their husbands. Hearing Mi Zhihong say this, Fang Qingru’s heart blossomed with joy. She asked coyly, "Is that true?"
"Of course."
This made Fang Qingru smile even brighter, "You have good taste!"
"Yes, if I didn’t have good taste, how could I have married such a beautiful wife like you?" Mi Zhihong said proudly and complacently.
"Hmph! How should I describe you? As Jingjing liked to say, ’You’re the kind of person who needs just a little sunshine to shine!’
Upstairs, Mi Zhihong and Fang Qingru were chatting happily and affectionately as a couple, but downstairs, the atmosphere between Mi Wan and Ji Dongquan was not as harmonious.
Mi Wan walked silently towards the lake in the community, with Ji Dongquan following closely behind.
"Ji Dongquan, what do you really want?" Under a willow tree, Mi Wan asked, her previous irritation gone, replaced by helplessness and resignation.
"Didn’t I make it clear enough?" Ji Dongquan raised his eyebrows and smiled.
"Can you stop messing around?" Mi Wan glared at him, the helplessness in her eyes even more obvious.
Ji Dongquan looked at Mi Wan for a long time without looking away. They stared at each other quietly until Mi Wan couldn’t hold it any longer and turned her face away. Only then did he sincerely and firmly say, "I’m not messing around, and you know I mean it."
Indeed!
He was a very persistent person. Once he decided on something, he wouldn’t give up. Back then, Mi Wan wasn’t swayed by his looks or his talents but was ultimately defeated by his persistence.
In the second year of graduate school, Ji Dongquan came to their class as an exchange student. With his handsome appearance, he became a popular figure at the school as soon as he reported and earned the admiration of many girls. After a debate contest, even more girls liked him. His talents were highly praised by the school teachers and professors and drove the girls at the school crazy! Handsome and talented, and reportedly with a wealthy family background, he was a third-generation rich kid. Within just a month or two, he became the most talked-about person at the school, a figure everyone admired. The beauties of various departments competed fiercely, hoping to win his favor.
Yet, despite many willing beauties throwing themselves at him, he didn’t fancy any of them but liked to pester her, who was indifferent to him.
She was a very quiet person. To others, she wasn’t cold or arrogant but had a bit of aloofness. Therefore, very few boys dared to approach her openly, and even if they tried, her extreme silence would drive them away. Ji Dongquan was the exception.
Every time they had class, he sat next to her. Even if she dragged her roommate along to occupy the seats beside her, he always found a way to get rid of her roommate and occupy the seat next to her, not allowing other boys to come near.
Fortunately, he wasn’t a noisy person, so even though he sat next to her often, she got used to his presence. Gradually, she started to learn more about him.
Undeniably, he had his own unique charisma. Even though he was proud, he had the right to be. She was a normal girl, and although more rational than others, she wasn’t impervious to feelings. Facing an outstanding boy chasing after her, she didn’t feel moved initially, but at least she found him more memorable than other boys.
They say women are emotional beings, often swayed by affection and romance. Mi Wan was no exception.
In just about two months, under Ji Dongquan’s relentless pursuit, she felt moved. But her subtle affection didn’t make her lose her rationality entirely. Considering he was an exchange student and would eventually return to his hometown, she hesitated to be with him.
She never expected that he would go to her house and straightforwardly tell her parents that he liked her and promised to be serious and good to her. This didn’t impress her, but it impressed Mi Jing, as he bought many things Mi Jing liked to eat, winning her favor! So, from then on, he often asked Mi Jing out to eat, with the condition that she had to bring her along. Thus, his dates with Mi Jing became, in effect, his dates with her.
Mi Jing was a foodie. While others prioritized friends over everything, Mi Jing lived to eat. After stuffing herself, she would leave her behind, and repeatedly urged her to go out and meet Ji Dongquan, which led to her trying almost all the famous foods in Jin City...
He was like a time machine. His appearance brought a sense of time travel, taking her back to that youthful era. Everything back then was so pure and beautiful; even the pain was radiant. She felt no regrets, only a sense of loss.
"We’re not suitable." Mi Wan looked down at the grass beneath her feet, her words tinged with faint sadness.
Regardless of the past or the present, she felt she wasn’t good enough for him because of the past events and because of Song Guotao’s presence. Facing him, she couldn’t help but feel very inferior.
"Why not suitable? I’m unmarried, and you’re not married. As long as you agree, no one can stop us from being together."
He had waited for so many years, just for a chance, a right moment. Once, they met each other at a wrong time and fell in love but couldn’t stay together. When she was with Song Guotao, he didn’t disturb her, not wanting to repeat the same mistake because the timing wasn’t right, which would lead to losing her again.
