Chapter 47: Love and Sex: Not Twins, Just Distant Cousins
"Jiang gege, I don’t know why my brother Sian is doing this to me. Save me, Jiang gege!" Song Zijian tried to appear as a bullied fragile beauty, but the swelling and the bruises on his face only succeeded in making him resemble a beggar.
"Sian." Jiang Hangyu gritted his teeth and spoke each syllable with hate and resentment. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"Ah Jian came to see you, and what in the world do you think you’re doing?"
Sian scratched the tip of his right ear with his finger and furrowed his brows.
"If you have to speak, speak softly. Why are you yelling? My eardrums will burst."
Jiang Hangyu was shocked. Not only had Sian replied to him, but he had also scolded him as well. Forget the scolding—Sian had never talked back to him before. He had always tried to oblige him, flattering him and even apologizing whenever he thought Jiang Hangyu was upset, even slightly.
Seeing Jiang Hangyu staring at Sian in silence, Song Zijian felt annoyance flood over him. He let out a few pained ones to bring the man’s focus back to him—and it worked.
Coming out of his trance, Jiang Hangyu glared back at Sian furiously.
"You’ve gone too far, Sian. Don’t think because you’re a hero right now, you can let it get to your head.". You’re nothing but a gold digger—you’ll never reach the level of my Zijian."
"Oh? Well, I do love gold," Sian said without changing his expression.
Everyone:"..."
Soft chuckles echoed throughout the room. The guests present had tried their best to ignore the drama unfolding before them, but in the end, they couldn’t help but listen.
After all, they can’t exactly plug their ears, can they?
Sian glanced at the two men still sprawled dramatically on the floor, then suddenly burst into laughter. It was different from his usual mocking or sarcastic laughs—this one was light and genuine, filled with mirth. It was so bright and soft that, for a brief moment, Jiang Hangyu found it beautiful.
For that fleeting second, his mind went blank.
That radiant mouth, those glimpses of shining pearly whites, the slope of his eyes a fraction too large—each facial feature of Sian pulled at him in some way. Surreal.
Jiang Hangyu had never been someone to be floored by a pretty face. As a capable CEO, dozens of women and men had sought to climb onto his sheets, each one of them prettier than the last, but never had he blown his top before this.
Oh, but don’t misunderstand. It’s not that the man had never slept with anyone before. Jiang Hangyu was simply the type to sleep with only those he chose himself—it made it easier to discard them later without any complications.
Of course, Jiang Hangyu was a loyal and devoted man.
The only one in his heart was his pure, innocent white lotus—his one and only love, Song Zijian.
But love and sex were two different things. They had nothing to do with each other.
Or at least, that was CEO Jiang’s philosophy in life.
...A truly filthy and repulsive philosophy, if you ask me.
But now, his face was painted with every shade of disbelief.
Are you telling him that his lower half almost reacted just because of this person’s smile?
The same person he hated down to his very bones?
Impossible.
Absolutely not.
He must have gone too long without anyone in his bed. That was the only explanation.
[I should tell my secretary to send me a pretty one tonight—to relieve some of this pent-up stress.]
With that disgusting thought, Jiang Hangyu forcefully shoved aside all ideas about Sian. Just as he was about to speak again, he was interrupted by Sian’s mocking voice.
After laughing to his heart’s content, Sian finally opened his mouth to explain.
"Oh, sorry, sorry. But I just find this scene hilarious. How long do you two lovebirds plan on lying there on the floor? Do you think we’re filming some kind of dramatic soap opera?"
[If Xiao Ting saw this scene, I bet she’d be clapping in excitement. Or maybe she would put a gun to both their heads. That girl has always loved reading these ridiculous novels—especially the ones filled with ’White Moonlights’ and ’Green Tea Btches’ and all sorts of dumb drama.]*
Xiao Ting had been one of Sian’s teammates in his previous world. She was a lively but cunning girl—something that was absolutely necessary to survive in a lawless, apocalyptic wasteland. He could still remember how she would always collect random novels during their patrols through ruined cities. Not only that, but she would also force the entire team to read them with her.
And every single time she encountered scummy characters, she would rage and swear that she’d tear them apart if she ever met them in real life.
Now that Sian had found himself face-to-face with a "Green Tea B*tch" like Song Zijian, he couldn’t help but feel grateful to her. Thanks to her, he had read enough novels to make his upcoming revenge all the more entertaining.
"Sian," Jiang Hangyu said coldly, "if you think your actions will earn my attention, you’re sorely mistaken. In fact, you only disgust me even more. And one more thing—your contract with our company has officially been terminated. You are fired. You’d best collect your things from the dorm and leave as soon as possible."
Hearing this, Song Zijian’s bruised face lit up with glee.
To be honest, after seeing Sian’s new attitude during the live stream—and how shockingly well he sang—Song Zijian had been terrified that Jiang Hangyu might regret firing him and change his mind.
But now, hearing Jiang Hangyu kick him out so decisively, he finally felt at ease.
[I win this round, Sian, let’s see how you’ll survive in this city without a job or any support. You’d be better off moving to the countryside to raise pigs. Otherwise, I’ll personally send you to hell.]
And it wasn’t just Song Zijian thinking this. Jiang Hangyu had the same thoughts running through his mind.
"You brought this upon yourself for being such a heartless bastard," he sneered. "Now, go live on the streets as a beggar. Maybe then, your soul will finally be purified after some well-deserved suffering."
"Who do you think you are, ordering Sian to go beg on the streets?"
A deep, powerful voice suddenly boomed through the room, making everyone turn toward the door.
...Why does it feel like I’ve seen this scene before?

Erato-san has something to say:
Aaron, Michael, Liang Zu, Tong Xiao, and the rest:
Don’t mind us, guys. We’re just the audience. Carry on with your things—we’ll just watch quietly from the side. ʕ ꈍᴥꈍʔ
Erato-san: Don’t think I can’t see the popcorn and 3D glasses you’re holding over there! Get out, you useless extras! Scram!
